The "NO DIET" checkin

Ok, I'm starting this so anyone who wants to follow with us, please do. I think we should just keep this thread going instead of making a new one each day. What do you think?

We are not counting calories or macros. We are trying to eat normal and healthy each day. This is our goal. I'm hoping this will stop my weekend binging.

I had way too many carbs yesterday, but I feel great today. I'm starting this at 134.4# so we'll see how it goes. I weigh myself every Saturday morning.

Are we going to list our foods?

I am in. Like I said I hate tracking macros, but that doesn't mean I don't obsess about food. Because I do. I need to stop the emotional eating and the all or nothing attitude. For me, if I eat something that I think I am not suppose to, I then go and trash the whole day. Stupid.
 
I'm the same way, Linda. I eat one stupid wrong thing and then I feel like it's a free pass to eat bad all day long. I have to stop this mind set. I seem to go from one extreme to the other. When I log, I eat spot on. When I don't, I eat like a hog. This has to stop. I need to find a perfect balance with food. It's too hard to keep worrying all the time about what I HAVE to eat. I'd like to get to a point where I can eat what I WANT to eat and still feel good about it.

Well I was pretty good yesterday even without the planning. I had a salad for lunch w/turkey (always have protiens in my salads), roast chicken & broccoli w/low fat cheese for dinner, & (here's where I slipped a little) 2 servings of white chocolate PB for dessert. I mean really, how is 2 tablespoons of anything a whole serving? :mad:

One thing I need to do is start eating breakfast. I've always been bad about this b/c I'm always running late. I'm thinking a hardboiled egg or two when I'm on my way out the door...

Oh crap, that's planning, isn't it? :eek:
 
Well, I think we have to plan to some extent.

Yesterday I had my protein shake before and after my workout, oats & BSN for breakfast, turkey burger on a real whole wheat bun w/some almonds and a peach for lunch, greek yogurt, honey and blueberries for my mid-day snack, Garlic spaghetti w/cannelli beans for dinner and Honey Nut Cheerios and a banana for my before bed snack.

Not so bad but I do know the carbs were way up there. I think I'll have two eggs tonight for my before bed snack. Everything will be the same for today but I'll have a bison burger for dinner with maybe a bag of Freetos. :eek:
 
Thanks Debbie! I don't obsess about food anymore, I eat what I want in moderations and I balance my food. It’s working for me. I do enjoy food and life.

I ate today!

M1 small banana plus 1 teasp. PP
M21 slice ww bread with 2 slices Smart Deli Bollogna style veggie protein
M3 DH and I went to lunch!
1 grilled cheese sandwich, I ate the whole ting
1 cup mixed veggies
1 cup mixed salad with balsamic vinegar plus 1 tabels. O. o
1 cup frozen yogurt, yummy!
M4 organic strawberry yogurt
M5 I will have 2 German potatoes balls (have to have 2, with gravy.
German cucumber salad with homemade dressing.

M6 fruit or yogurt
 
This is fantastic!

So far today I ate Shredded Wheat and soy milk for breakfast.

You guys have a great idea here. I'm also obsessed with what I eat and want to change it.

Just eating healthy should do the trick along with the workouts. This will be interesting to see if it works.

Talk more later, I have a 4 year old that is visiting me for another two days. But will still be eating healthy.

I feel really good about this thread.
I also just got off the pill it's been about a month or so and I feel so great knowing those hormones are not in my system anymore. I also feel less bloated like no more water retention.

Anyway my eats today :
B-1 w/w tortilla with 1 whole egg 1 egg white 1 slice of fatfree sargentos mozarella cheese 1 tbspn of salsa and 1 small tangerine
S-Luna bar
L-whole wheat pasta with lean ground beef spinach some speghetti sauce
S-handful of almonds with an apple
D-will be a chicken salad
Dessert-fat free pudding

Todays workout will be a kickboxing cardio and after my workout I'll have a glasses of fatfree chocolate milk....

I use to take bcaa's, glutemine, glucosimine before, and did the macro's thing but just got tired of it all. I stopped because it was too expensive and why? Im no professional just woman trying to live a healthy life. So now I just take a multi vitamin.
 
Hey Ladies,

I going to jump in....I to am a weekend binger! :mad: I say no all week long and then if I go for that cookie it like free range to eat the whole box. I was talking to my sister-in law that it about everything in moderation. So that is what I am going to do. I was on vacation last week and gave myself free range to eat what I wanted and guess what I lost 2 pds. Go figure....So I am hoping this will help me get back to my goal weight. Weight myself this morning 130 - goal is 120- 122. I am 5'4.
Today:
Breakfast
2 hard boil eggs
1/2 cup oatmeal
peach

Lunch
Hamburger
homemade potatoe salad - left over from the weekend which I normally will not have had.

Snack
peach

Dinner
Pepper steak and yes I will have some rice with it.

Wow, this is so cool! I'm shocked so many people are thinking along the same lines as Laura and I are.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we do on the weekend. We'll have to report back on if we felt like we had to binge or not.
 
Okay, here goes:

I do great during the week and let myself splurge on the weekends. Lately, I've been splurging ALL weekend, starting on Friday night through Sunday night, then I'm right back on starting Monday mornings!

Today's Menu:

Oatmeal with small handful of dried cranberries
2 egg whites, scrambled
coffee with cinnamon only

peach and 10 whole, raw almonds

pasta with 1 tbsp olive oil and spices

On the dinner menu for tonight is baked chicken with plain barbecue sauce, green beans and whole kernel corn, maybe a small green salad.

I usually don't have an evening snack, but if I do it's usually a strawberry and banana shake made with plain yogurt and skim milk or a 5 oz. glass of light chocolate soy milk.

I don't think I get enough protein. I usually hang aroun 70-80 grams a day, but I don't like the idea of using protein powders or anything artificial.
 
B-Slim Fast Extra Protein, honey bunches of oats with almonds
L-Fiber Plus Bar & String cheese
S-apple cinnamon buttercake (1 bar)
D-2 oz filet mignon w/zip sauce, Bell's Oberon beer

--probably having a small Greek salad later if I'm hungry
 
I blew it already! Not too badly I don't think. Went for my run tonight, but had to go pick up my Mac at the Apple Store, so I came home and changed, fed my "children." My DH came home and didn't want to go with, so I was going to start the chicken before I left, but had a brilliant idea! Ended up picking up some Pad Thai from the best Thai restaurant in town. We split it, so it shouldn't be too bad. Right?

S-3 egg white omelet with whole wheat toast
L-1/2 cup of brown rice with lean ground beef (93%) a nice slice of avacado and 1/2 cup of broccoli
S-serving of fatfree greek yogurt with blueberries

When I get home from work today I have Muscle Endurance on schedule with no abs.
I have been doing no abs during the week but on Saturdays will do a segment from sts abs. I hope thats enough.

Anyway have a wonderful day everyone...
I'm so excited. I have tickets to see Wicked tonight in the city. But before the show I'm going to my favorite restaurant. It's such a gooodd Italian place. They serve the best food ever. It's called Tony D'anapolis. I think thats how you spell it. They have 2 locations.
I guess this will be my first cheat meal of the week.LOL
 
Oh, have a great time tonight! I want a review of Wicked after! I've always wanted to see it!

On my plate (no pun intended) for today is Power Hour. I'm trying to follow the August rotation. This week is easy, but it gets difficult next week as I don't have any of the Gym Style dvds. Will have to improvise or skip weights and just run every day! :D Yes, I'm having a hard time not running every day!

Menu for today is iffy - need a grocery run! I hate when that happens in the middle of the week! I don't have time for it!

Well, I did pretty good yesterday, but after dinner had some chocolate waffers that I got at Aldi's. OMG, these things are so good. I'm glad I don't have anymore in the house. I was still pretty full by the time my last meal should have been so I just skipped it.

My meals for today will be:

-Protein shake b4 my workout
-Oats, BSN & PB w/a whole banana
-Garlic spaghetti, peach and 1 Dove dark chocolate for lunch
-Greek yogurt w/honey & blueberries
-Summer beef stew for dinner
-If I'm still hungry by 8 p.m., maybe two whole eggs w/a slice of toast.
