THE MOST DANGEROUS CAKE RECIPE!

I was sent this little recipe and thought I would share it with you all.

I have seen this recipe in emails before but steered clear of it.

My father has tried the recipe, so now I am sure it is legit.
He just said that you should make sure it is a BIG coffee mug so you don't make a mess. :)

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! You are going to print this out straight away, aren't you

I got this recipe a while ago and it's WAY TOO EASY! And delicious. We were making the thing every.single.day. Very dangerous!

My daughter 13 yrs old just walked in from school when I was reading this. She is making it know :D:D:D Will give you a review in 10 minutes!!!

It doesn't sound THAT bad... compared to if you made a big whole cake and ate that for a few days.

I wonder if you could sub in Splenda for the sugar and a bit of white whole wheat flour to make it more waist friendly.

Oh boy, I'm in trouble now. Sounds great. I am drooling just thinking about it (with a little vanilla ice cream on the side). Mmmmmm

For those who have cooked this, do you use cake flour or all purpose flour to make it turn out well?

I think I want to make this tonight, too, but, I don't have cake flour!:p

thanks!

Ok, this sounded awesome, but I added up the calories, and I won't post it unless someone wants to know , so I tried out a highly modified version, and truly enjoyed it, I think this might actually be healthy, oh yeah except for the sweetener I used to replace the sugar.

I ground up oats into a flour to replace the flour, I replaced the egg with 1.25 ounces of egg whites, the oil with 3 tbl. of applesauce, used 4 packs of truvia in place of the sugar, used the creamy kind of skim milk, and did not use the chocolate chips. This version is 250 calories.

I had to blend it all in a small food processor, there was no way I was going to be able to blend it all with a spoon, it was more like a dough after I added the egg. Then poured it into the mug, and cooked for 3 minutes. It came out like a denser souffle, and smelled just like one. This would have been even better with the chocolate chips, but I don't have any.

Yup, I have software that does this and I was SHOCKED at how many calories are actually in this thing. I go easy on the chocolate chips and use egg beaters instead of a whole egg... but it still ain't diet food! :p

Thanks for this recipe! My 3 year old daughter and I just whipped this up and scarfed it right down-she loved it! I followed the recipe to a t except I used a small pyrex bowl and topped it off with a little Betty Crocker chocolate frosting and Mrs. Richardson's Butterscotch Caramel Topping-fabulous!

Yikes!

Um, this sounds WONDEFUL, however, if you are on weight watchers and do the recipe as printed it is 23 POINTS! I guess that would be it for the day! :D

OH MY! Can that be right:confused:? My recipe calculator pegged this at 939 calories:(. I was figuring maybe 300! Ok, so this is one to share!

Ok, just how many calories does it have......?

I added up 882 calories without the chocolate chips. And I could not find milk calories by the tbls, so I just put in 25. The oil alone was 372!

And really, my VERY lightened up version was very tasty and satisfying.
