Hey ladies....I don't think I saw a thread yet......

gotta make it quick.....

workouts: sat - CCPP ran 5.5 miles, sun - STS legs meso 1, mon - sts ch/sh/bi meso 1, tues - B&G stab ball abs and 2.5 miles of interval sprints.

I'm trying to move up our zip line trip and then I've found another adventure thing to do in Moab, UT at Arches National park. I'll have to post the links so you can see the crazy things I want to do :)

Later...

Hi girls! Have been able to ride the stationary bike! Yay me!! It has been so humid here, the sweat just drips everywhere!! Today I also did bi's, from 4DS. Lisa, those are some impressive w/o's that you did! When are you taking a rest day? What is this other crazy thing you want to try? Ronne, have fun in Scotland! Kathryn, how was Disney? Murphy, where are you??. Saw Shrek 4 this weekend, very sweet. Puss in Boots reminded me of Lisa's cat! Talk to you later. Mary

^5 Mary......how's your bum after riding the bike? :) LOL about the Puss in Boots but it fits! :)

Rest day? What's that? I'm banking workouts again --- that and I'm up so early that I have NO excuse not to workout! Why am I up so early, well, sometimes just because, but a lot of the time, this CAT MEOWS (siamese YEOW) so loud at 4:00 am wanting out. She never did this when Maddy was around. I think she knows Maddy is gone and wants to be queen now.

Here's the adventure things we are wanting to do in Moab, UT:

Back from Disney

Hi, girls! I'm back from a wonderful time at Disney! We had fun, the weather was pretty good, and we left as the crowds were getting insane. (Tip: Never go to Hollywood Studios on a Saturday during "Star Wars" celebration... unless you're a rabid Star Wars fan, or you love crowds)!

I stayed on my workout schedule and ran 3 to 4 miles every day (except Wednesday, my day off). I've lost a lot of speed since last year -- my foot hurts so much more this year than last. I'm ready for that surgery now.

I'm ready to start STS again. I can't believe I just said that, but I am tired of kettlebells and tired of figuring out my own rotations. I can do STS more easily during the summer, and I think DH is willing to do STS with me. I need more structure, I think. Call me crazy....

Speaking of DH: He ate a lot at Disney! Lots of desserts--tons of ice cream, especially. He ordered something called "The Garbage Pail" at Blizzard Beach... it was a kids' sand bucket filled with cookies, ice cream, toppings, whipped cream, cherries, nuts... it was ghastly! I'm not kidding -- a weeks' worth of calories for us, but he made a pretty big dent in it. He tried to get the kids to help, but they gave up after a couple of spoonfuls.

I had only two desserts the entire week, and Disney meals are so expensive (we weren't on the meal plan this year) that I felt quite motivated to order less.

Anyhow, I did Supersets yesterday and Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge today. After all of the exercise (walking and running) last week, I really need a day off.

I hope everybody is well. I'll try to catch up on what I missed!

By the way, today DD announced that she was "so bored." Welcome to summer break. I offered her a mountain of laundry to fold, but she wasn't interested. I think that's how I'll deal with "I'm so bored..." find lots of unappealing chores to scare them away so they won't whine at me!

Bye for now!

Hi everyone, yes, it is me. I am still here. I did one of Tracie Long's dvd today. I will probably be doing her stuff and Michael Olajidae's stuff a lot (plus the Wii) because they don't require a lot of equiment, if any at all. We have the house on the market so most of my exercise equipment is packed away.

Kathryn - my DH and little ones are HUGE Star Wars fans. We have everything. My 2 year old watches the movies, knows the names of character I don't know even know. It is crazy. She is also a BIG Hulk fan.

Hey girls!!!!!! Oh my, how I need my checkin fix :) I did STS Back/Bi Meso1 today. I had lost 3 lbs as of last Sat, but then DH and I had a HUGE cheat meal on Saturday....do I dare disclose what I ate? So now up a lb, I really need to lose these 10 lbs. I finally realized what a toll losing Maddy has had on me, besides gaining weight, my blood pressure is really high (I think that's what happens when I have so much inner turmoil). It was 160/100, I know, I know, OMG....I started taking my BP pills every other day, I am amazed that grief does this to me. I had same problem when Mom and Dad passed. That and major depression that I couldn't shake (and subsequently was put on anti-depressants). I wish there was an easier way for me to get through this grief, but I've determined that I don't do grief well. When I lost my FIL 18 mths ago, that was nothing...it really affects me with those I'm really attached to, so I told DH that he HAS to die before me, no questions asked! He said, how can we guarantee that? :)

I have looked at puppies just to see and justify to myself that it isn't an option and maybe that's my way of processing the grief. I don't know how these people just go and get another pet...I remember how my sis latched onto my Aunt after Mom died and I knew I didn't need or want a Mom replacement, so it's the same thing with Maddy. It's amazing how much dogs cost initially then the vet bills in the beginning and of course end of life care, not to mention the day to day. I do not want to put myself in this predicament again, sure they give you lots of love, but the hurt at the end is bad for me and all for I estimate $20,000 over the life of the pet (if they live to 13yrs which is an avg age for dogs I think). I know they give you lots of love, but I get a lot from DH and the kids. Speaking of kids, my oldest son turned 21 yesterday!!! OMG, am I old enough to have a 21 yr old?

Murphy, glad you are still around!!!! Having a house on the market is tough, maybe do more walks/stairs, etc?

Kathryn, sounds like you had a nice vacation. That dessert your DH had sounded like it could make one sick and my cheat dessert Saturday wasn't near that much (but oh so yummy). good for you for running on vacation, did you ever run around the decks of a ship? I'm thinking that may be cool.

Mary, How's the hip doing? Are you riding like the wind on the bike?

Ronne, hope you are having a blast! And I don't mean a Cathe blast...LOL, such a comic I am!

Well, back to work. They are hiring more contractors here, and I recommended a guy I used to work with. Well....the boss just told me this guy has the skills but his personally can be an issue. So, let that be a lesson that people remember when you are a butt and it pays to take your lumps graciously (ie, when they laid him off last year). Needless they will take him on if he is interested, but then the kicker is he can't decide...blah blah blah. Last time I may stick my neck out for someone.

Boy it seems I always write books with my checkin.....:D:( Guess that would clue you all in to the fact that I can talk up a storm if given the chance :)

Hi everyone! Just did intervals on the bike with the BC w/o from 4DS, makes me feel like I am working out the same as all of you! Also did tri's. Oh Lisa, take your pills!! That is the nurse coming out! Our bodies make us pay attention to what is going on in our minds. You have to grieve, she was your love. Take care of yourself, for you and DH, you have to go ziplining and cruising! Also, I want to know what you ate on Sat?! Something sinful? Kathryn, we missed you! So glad to hear you had fun! How much was that sundae? The prices down there are crazy? Did you go to Typhoon Lagoon? That is our favorite, the wave pool is incredible! Murphy, glad to see you here! We missed you too! Where are you moving to? Selling is so much work, especially with little ones always following behind chaning things up! Have a good day! Mary

Our sinful cheat day was first Balsamic glazed chicken on spinach at BJ's restaurant, then their famouse pizookie dessert. Check the pic out here (they even have their own facebook page) http://www.facebook.com/pizookie. While I was searching I found the calorie count to be 900 calories  (I was guess 600), then ON TOP OF THAT, we went over to cold stone creamery and I had a small 'All your Lovin Oven' ice cream. I was a BAAAAAD girl !!!

Mary, did you ever try that free Cardio Coach workout that Michele offered on Facebook? If not, get it....it's perfect for the bike. Let me know if you need her info again.

Hi all,

Yesterday I got my new Tracie Long dvd's. There are 4 and they are 30 min each. I did one and it was okay but I did not realize at the time that I clicked chapter instead of the 30 minute version. Of course the time flew by and I could not understand why it was so short and etc. I was distracted but I could not believe I missed all that time. I then put in another one and did 20 minutes of that - using the chapters which is when I realized the mistake I made on the first one. Hey, it was 5 am, too much thinking was required... I will try the other two tomorrow, one is karate-ish which I tend to like so let's hope for the best. The other is a total body conditioner which I tend to like too, I will let you know how that one goes.

Mary - the house is on the market but we have not found a new place to move to yet. We figure with the market the way it is there really is no rush to do anything. We are looking at houses but have not found "the one" yet.

STS Disc 1

Okay, I decided to plunge in and start STS. DH is working out with me -- he sheepishly admits he over-ate on vacation (ya think?)... he said it makes push-ups hard because he's pushing up more weight than ever. :D I decided to hold my tongue and say nothing! :p

Mary, we went to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach this time. We had so much fun at the water parks -- I think they're somewhat overlooked because of the theme parks.

My sister is going in a couple of weeks, and I suggested that rather than spend two days at Epcot and two days at Magic Kingdom  that she go to a water park instead. I think that six days of hauling little kids around the theme parks is going to be a nightmare for everybody!

I'm really proud of you all for having only one cheat day! Now that I'm doing STS (and back from vacation), I need to get back to clean eating (good-bye to wine, chocolate, cheese and crackers! :( ), so I'll be able to see the results.

Lisa, a 900-calorie dessert? Enjoy! I'm sure there were thousands of calories in DH's heart-attack-in-a-bucket! It really was so unappealing... and because we were outside, it was melting fast into a gooey, gross mess. Ugh.

And I totally agree with your assessment of former co-worker... I'd rather hire someone with a great attitude (and possibly a bit less skill) than a really talented person who is going to give me a new ulcer every day.

Murphy, where are you moving to? Same area? Good luck selling your house. The good news is that it's a buyer's market, so there are good deals to be found.

Ronne, if you check in from Scotland, I hope you're having fun!

Okay, I'm getting non-stop interruptions from DD, her friend, DH, and DS, so I'm going to end it here. I'll check in tomorrow -- another day, another workout.

Bye, all!

Hi girls! Today I did Cardio Fusion All step premix (Kathryn I think of you everytime I do CF, and Murphy when I do DM, and Ronne when I do Imax 3 ---oh wait, I don't do Imax3 !!), anyway, humidity is bad, I was hungry, and maybe my BP had something to do with my lack of energy, so I skipped the last power circuit and did LIC abs instead. I had a huge sweat going on! (I thought of you for that one Mary).

Muphy, I was up at 5am too (darn meowing cat), although I don't start my exercise until 6:15.

Kathryn, BJ's, oh my....I found out they give you a free pizookie on your birthday! DH has a birthday this month and mine is in august. I. Must. Resist.

Mary, I decided to take the BP pills everyday until I get this under control, who knows when that will be. Poor DH never knows when his DW is going to bawl her eyes out. It's just like the days 8 years ago....I do hope I can get through this and not have to go to a dr for anti-depressants. I swore I would never take them (as I consider myself a strong woman ---- I do well during a crisis event but the aftermath I have a hard time coming to terms with). I will feel sooooo stupid going in saying how grief striken I am over my dog! Now my parents were understandable....I'm sure my doctor would be very accomodating though. Maybe a little fun zipping will be just the ticket...I sure hope we can get everyone's schedules together to do it with the boys.

I guess I better get back to work for now.....

Kathryn, How much weight did your DH gain???? Here I am 10 lbs heavier and I'm doing pretty well on my pushups (but I still only can do half on my toes in STS Meso1). In fact, I've increased the weight I use for chest work.

Hi girls! Today, I followed HIIT on the bike, DWP, did the floor work from GS legs, and the shoulder work from 4DS! All in under an hour! Lisa, I did save your friend's message, I totally forgot about it, I will have to e-mail her, thanks for reminding me! I saw that dessert, looks amazingly good! We hardly ever get dessert when we go out, we are too cheap! Be good to yourself, and give yourself time, she hasn't been gone that long. You loved her for a long time, that just doesn't go away. Kathryn, good for you with STS, I am anxious to get back into it. Good luck to you on that clean eating, I have good intentions and then I get distracted by, well, everything! Murphy, I just ordered Bob Harper's new ones, they are supposed to be shipped next week. 4 dvd's for $35. They look pretty intense, saw them over there on VF. I thought about the Tracie one's, DH might get annoyed if I get too many! Have a good night everyone! Mary

Happy Friday!!!!!! I did STS Legs Meso 1 -- Disk 9 today. I was dreading it (I always dread legs) but it felt really good, I could have gone on longer it made me so happy :) How sappy am I?

My pants are fitting a little less tighter even though I only lost 2 lbs these last 6 weeks --- remember my pizookie set me back a lb. :)

I'll check in later and see if anyone has been here.

Lisa: When I met DH he weighed about 175. Now he's pushing 200 (and may already be there). And he's having to do push-ups with more weight and less muscle mass, so that makes it harder. But I give him credit for being willing to try to get in shape again. Whenever I'm tempted to slack off, I remind myself that it's easier to stay in shape than it is to get back into shape.

Today was MMA: Fusion (the roly-poly workout). Maybe I'm roly-poly-challenged, but DH couldn't do them at all. He's not very flexible, couldn't get his leg under himself, couldn't get up off his back... but he hung in there. I like that workout. Despite the criticism of it being too easy (are you kidding me?), I find that workout to be very challenging.

Lisa: I have an August birthday too -- when is yours? I'm the 22nd.

Mary, you got a lot done in only an hour! Good for you! Regarding STS: I had been dreading it, but all of a sudden I felt ready. I've been mixing it up and putting together my own rotations, but I want to be on autopilot for the summer. Also, I want to get in the best possible shape before my fall surgery, so I'll have farther to go to get out of shape during the recovery period.

Well, I'm glad it's Friday. I'm looking forward to relaxing by the pool, taking it easy, and enjoying summer. This is my favorite time of year! :D

Kathryn, sounds about like my DH. I told my DH that that roll around his waist needs a good diet and some cardio....he said...I do x amt of sit ups each time I workout. I said....don't you just work out on the weekends. He said Yep....like that was good enough.

My birthday is the 14th....I'll be 46. You are a Leo too, right? My dad was the 23rd and I think that was the beginning of a virgo.

Hi girls! Happy Friday! Today I did back and chest from 4DS and followed 30/30 on my bike. That was waaay harder than following the pryamid one! I was glad it was a shorter one! Tho, it is humid here today, maybe I can use that as an excuse?! Kathryn, I like the Fusion one, it cracks me up when people say how easy those w/o's are, they have to be superwoman! I know they aren't the hardest ones I own, I do work up a good sweat with them. Lisa, I love to work legs, I really miss that. Kathryn, back to you, do you know when you are going to do your surgery? when the kids go back to school? I know I hit Meso 2 hard before mine, I wanted as much muscle to burn more calories. I have lost 3lbs since the surgery, I was worried I would pack it on not doing as much. Murphy, any takers on the house? I hope you all have a great weekend. Would love to be sitting by the pool with you Kathryn! Mary
