Texas Road Trip Feedback Wanted

Hello Texas Cathletes. We’re getting ready to make our final decision on the Texas Cathlete Road trip and need your help. We’ve been looking at three locations in Texas for October 2010, including Lost Pines, Horeshoe Bay Resort , and the Woodlands Resort.

I know Lost Pines was highly recommended by several Cathletes , but it has two problems. We would have to charge $399 instead of $299 because of food costs and the lack of availability of the main banquet room could cause the trip to Texas to be delayed until next year. So, Lost Pines is not looking good at the moment, but not completely ruled out.

Horseshoe Bay currently has availability in October and could handle a maximum of 120 Cathletes. This resort features a beautiful 54 hole Golf course that might be attractive to spouses who want to also come and the resort even has the world’s best “Real” miniature golf course. Maybe we could have a Cathlete Miniature Golf Pro Am Championship if we select this location? Horseshoe Bay also has a nice Yacht which the resort would let us use for a short cruise on the lake.

The Woodlands is located near Houston and probably the easiest to get to from the Airport. This facility could handle about 140 Cathletes and features two championship golf courses, 21 tennis courts, and the Forest Oasis Waterscape with hours of endless fun for everyone in your family. The Woodlands features beautiful hiking trails that could also add a nice unique outdoor flavor to this event.

If anyone has stayed at these resorts we would like to get your feedback ASAP. We plan on making our final decision within the next few days.

Aww man. :( I was hoping Chicago was next on the list. Lucky Texans! :p

Will you make it to Chicago this year or is it looking like it won't be until next year? Just curious. Thanks!!

Hi Maria! Thanks for your interest. We don't know that answer just yet but we have been researching Chicago so that makes things more promising that it will be selected soon.

Texas sounds awesome!! However, to be perfectly honest, I am disappointed no Daytona this year. It was such an incredible RT/Location/Vacation!

All I can say is "Yeeeeha!" So excited to hear that the RT is coming to Texas!! A Road Trip that I can drive to!
I have not been to any of these resorts, but would choose The Woodlands or Horseshoe Bay over Lost Pines because of the cost.
Did I mention that I am excited?!?!?:D:p:)

do you have to rent the hotel to be part of the road trip? my parents live in the woodlands.i go to thier house many times because i live in houston.

I have been on two Road Trips and there have been people at each one who did not stay in the hotel, but commuted on their own to the events each day.

Staying at the hotel is optional, but it does add a little more to the experience and makes it easier to shower and change clothes.

I posted on FB, but my vote is for The Woodlands - it has so much to offer, as does Houston - zoos, museums, parks...

Horseshoe Bay!

Soon-to-be Texan here, returning home in June! (but coming back to Jersey for the RT in July!)
I vote for Horseshoe Bay. The hill country of Texas is so beautiful - and that is a much more central location than Houston, so more Texans can come! I have been to the Woodlands (recently in fact), and while it's nice enough, it doesn't have that hill country beauty. So that's my 2 cents.
