Terminator + Total Body Blast Rotation????

LuvCardio

Cathlete
Hi folks :) Wondering what you think of the rotation I made up below? I am no expert on rotations... Just wondering if anyone has any advice on a total body blast rotation that includes the terminator? I got the new videos on VHS a couple weeks ago and had a string of over training last weekend. I got the DVDs today :p and am sooooo excited!!!!

I started the total body blast totation a wk ago and want to also incorporate the Terminator. However, I am afraid of over doin' it again. Would love to know any rotations you guys are doing with the new vids???

What do you think of this one? My goals are fat loss with a focus on increasing muscle mass/tone. I appreciate any advice/opinion!

Week 1
******
Sat - Guantlet
Sun - Muscle Endurance
Mon - ***REST***
Tue - IMAX2/PLB (only 5 intervals of ImaX)
Wed - PUB
Thur- Boot Camp
Friday - C&W (w/light wts)

Week 2
******
Sat - Viper
Sun - PLB + 20-25 min easy cardio (or REST day if feeling over trained)
Mon - C&W (lt wt on legs!)
Tues - ***REST***
Wed - Muscle Endurance
Thurs- IMAX2
Fri - PUB

Week 3
******
Sat - Imax xtreme
Sun - Muscle Endurance
Mon - C&W
Tues - ***REST***
Wed - IMAX2/PLB (only 5 intervals of Imax2)
Thurs - PUB
Fri - Boot Camp

This looks good to me. If you are interested in muscle mass, you might want to take Muscle Endurance and Cardio and Weights and replace them with PUB doing each one of those 2x's per week. One thing I have found is that decreasing my cardio during strength based rotations helps. I like that you aren't doing too much cardio (although the Terminator workouts are almost like doing 2 shorter cardio vids back to back)! Maybe you could try out each week and see how you feel and see if you muscles feel recovered and ready to take on the next workout. Have fun!

P.S. If the (1-5) intervals of Imax on your PLB days are too much, you could always substitute with the time saver step sections of C&W.

I really like the looks of your rotation, LuvCardio! I'm going to copy it and definately give it a go. (My DVD's don't come 'till Monday - something to look forward to!)

Thanks for putting it together!

Luv Cardio,

Your rotaion looks good - what I am finding difficult is there is so much with the DVD's it is hard to figure out a good rotation with all that there is. The thing is they all involve weights - I really like C & W but I also love Muscle Endurance - they are all so good now we have the Terminator.

I think the Gauntlet is a little better than BC - because it does involve more cardio(on the step). I was thinking of doing the gauntlet for a while instead of BC - I was doing BC 2 times a week before I got the DVD's.

I absolutely love IMAX EXTREME - because I am a step cardio addict - it has all but two intervals in it from IMAX2 plus you get C & W cardio - which I absolutely love. For people who thought that one was too easy but liked the cardio part of it ought to love IMAX EXTREME.

See, too many decisions, there are lots of options on BC DVD that are all so tempting. It is like being a little kid in a huge candy store - what do you choose?

Oh well, if only we could fit it all in one week - we would have to work out almost 24 hours a day!

Cheryl

Hmmm... I posted before, but must have hit "preview" instead of "post"(the buttons are reversed at videofitness.com and I'm getting them mixed up!).

Your schedule looks good. Remember, though, that the Terminator workouts are intense like interval workouts. You may find that doing and Terminator workout and an interval workout in the same week might be too much. If so, just do one of them a week.

One suggestion I have is to move your "off" day to the day after the Terminator workouts. That way you'll have more recovery time when you need it.

Thanks so much gals for the great feedback.

Jillybean - I took your advice today and actually did PUB instead of Muscle Endurance. My legs were hit too hard yesterday w/the Gauntlet to do ME today. PUB felt great. Since I let my legs have a day off today I am going to move my rest day to Tuesday and to IMAX/PLB tomorrow (assuming I feel recovered) If not, I will stick to the plan.

Cheryl - I so agree with you. These new vids are so addicting and I am definitely like a kid in a candy store. I just love them so much and they motivate me to extremes. I have to force myself to be careful. It just stinks because I can tell my legs are not use to this type of pushing. They are definitely taking the longest to recover which keep me from being able to push so hard toward the end of the week. I really did like the Gauntlet. I am excited to try the Viper next week. I just love all the extra pre-mixes on the DVDs. They make it even more difficult to choose though:))) It will take me months and months to ever get tired of this series!

Robin - I am so happy for you receiving your DVDs. You are going to absolutely love them! Let me know how it goes! They sure are challenging.

Kathryn - Yeah, I have really struggled w/what day to take off. The hard thing is my 2 big days for working out are Sat and Sun. I love to have my kickbutt workout on Sat. because I seem to have the most energy of the week. I like wt. lifting on Sun because I usually have lots of time after church on Sun. when my 2 yr old is taking his long Sun nap. So...... it makes it so hard. I definitley might have to change it around so I have the rest day after the big interval day.

I'll let ya' know how this rotation goes. Hopefully I won't be too pooped out after the 1st week. LOL

I DID IT!! Or maybe I overdid it... LOL... I got my DVD's Monday...Tues. morning I did Gauntlet, Wed. morning Viper, Thurs. morning IMax Extreme - all on a 10 inch step - WooHoo - didn't think I could work this intensely anymore (going to be 48 next month), but I proved myself WRONG!!! Cathe has renewed my faith in myself!! (I just had to tell someone!)

Now I've had a sampling of these fun-tastic workouts I'm ready to start your rotation, LuvCardio! Thanks for putting it together!

The Terminator contains three compilations from our new Intensity series, called: The Gauntlet, Imax Xtreme & The Viper.
The Gauntlet:

Imax Xtreme:
cardio and compound weights from Cardio & Weights +two Imax2 intervals in a row. Then repeat this pattern 4 times doing different exercises each time.

The Viper:
one cardio section from Cardio & Weights + one Imax2 interval + two or three Muscle Endurance upper body heavy weights Then repeat this pattern 4 times doing different exercises each time.

Robin,
Congrats on making it thru! SEE!!!!!!! You can do it! Just an FYI... this is how I ended up modifying my rotation this week. I ended too sore in the legs after PLB that I decided to take a day off. Tomorrow I am off to the viper!!!! (1st time with that one!)

Sat - Gauntlet
Sun - PUB
MOn -IMAX2 (6 intervals) /PLB
Tues -Rest
Wed - Muscle Endurance Upper Only/C&W- Cardio Only
Thurs - Rest
Fri - Boot Camp + PUB Shoulders/Chest only

p.s. I am focusing heaving on wt. training :+

Have fun with your new tapes!

Hi LuvCardio!
I'm curious...Are you back to your original rotation yet? I may adjust also as I'm not too worried about the legs (I've done the Lower Body Solution several times for a few weeks at a time and have had no problems), but I'm wondering if an Intensity Series only rotation overworks the upper body (for example, doing C&W or BC back to back with ME or PUB)? Has Cathe addressed that??? Anyway, I did ME (fun!) yesterday and will try BC today...

RobinC

P.S. On my rest day I did Time Saver Cardio from CW...couldn't resist!! http://www.smilies-world.de/Smilies/Smilies_klein_1/boots.gif

P.P.S. Isn't the Viper awesome??!!!
