Sunday melt-fest

Cathlete
Morning melters. Let’s see if I can catch up from yesterday.

Deb, did you get all your errands done? Did you get a kettlebell? I am so starting to want one, but I have to stop spending money before my DH takes away my bank card. I mentioned two weekend trips I’d like to make in the fall and he said OK, as long as I don’t buy any more workouts. I’m not sure I can stick to that deal.

Leanne, I asked DH if he ever has dreams like yours. He says not anymore. He’s been teaching for about 20 years now. Or longer, maybe? He said to tell you to remember that you are smarter then them.

Shelley, I was happy to see you felt better yesterday. Is there any chance of you signing on for the August RT? Unfortunately, I can’t do the pre thingie then. I looked at the calendar and found a weekend in Sept and one in Oct, but don’t remember the dates yet. I’ll try to let you know later and maybe we can start making some firm plans for our GTG. So now that SO is working out, do you guys workout together? Maybe getting sweaty together would lead to something….

Kara, how’s the house renovation stuff going? Did you get the floor done? I’ve decided since I can’t drink wine for the next 3 weeks that I’m going to try whitening my teeth. I hate how nasty and grey they look in all my pictures. Thank you for the compliment though. DD saw a picture the Liann posted with me standing next to Tracey and she said I looked as good as Tracey. I know it’s not true, but I may have to get a poster made out of that picture.

Tneah, I have to LOL at your dirty talk. I’m meaning the sex stuff. I need a magic pill to catch up with my DH’s libido. Isn’t it strange how you end up with a partner with, hmmmm, different drives?

Peggie kitten, yes, I almost passed out when Cathe said my name. I know she tries to learn people from the book put together for the RT, but I’m not in it this year. She is an amazing woman.

Well, I think I’m caught up. Shouting out hey to Lainie lolling in her great big vacation bed, and Allie and Kristi who will be sobbing goodbyes to all their new friends in a couple hours. I gotta scoot. Hopefully today will be a bit quieter at work and I’ll be able to keep up with you loverlies. Taa.

Hi Robin and all who follow:

Well, I got through yesterday unscathed. I kept myself super-busy all day long. We went to see The Dark Knight yesterday afternoon. Holy intense! I was shaking the whole way through it and felt drained after. Then I couldn't sleep last night because I found it so disturbing. I don't get how people could take kids to that. And someone in the OD said they didn't think it was violent. Clearly their idea of violent and mine are two different worlds. However, it was brilliant and Heath Ledger was unbelievable as the Joker.

Robin - can't wait to hear those dates. That's so cool that Cathe remembered you! Then again, you're very memorable:)

Tneah - are you back in Vegas? So, when does the new boat actually arrive, and will you be able to park it or dock it or whatever you do with boats, in the same place as the old one?

Leanne - okay, checked at Costco but they don't have the pant length comfy pants right now, just the capri length, and I like the pant length better (I have both) so I'm going to wait for a bit. But I AM sending you some. So there. I love the idea of making BIL work for his keep.

Lainie - are you having a wonderful weekend? Are the kids behaving? Did you manage to find a Target?;)

Shannon - your avatar is different. Did you play with it at work or something? There's no horse anymore, just you! Glad you enjoyed CCPP yesterday.

Peggie - your Friday at work sounds rotten. I hope this coming week is better for you - better at work and no sick kids!

BG - are you enjoying your lead apron-free weekend, or do you take it home and wear it around the house? That would be a workout in itself! I'm quite sure Mr. Trainerman isn't going to make you get on the TM for two weeks!

Emily - let us know when you're home! Can't wait to see pics!

Deb - did you find kettlebells? I'm going to the Target in NF, NY on Friday with Sophie and might just have to check for them there!

Kristi - right about now, you're probably finishing up at Cathe's gym and getting ready to go to the diner for breakfast. I just know you had an amazing weekend and can't wait to hear all about it!

Allie - so, how much did you cry this year?:p Just teasing! Did you have a blast?

Kara - your kids are busy, busy, busy! How's the Camp Rock soundtrack doing? Have you managed to break the CD yet? I won't ask about the painting, but if you need me to come down there and help, I'm there!

I have no idea what's up for today. Chris is going to work. I have a few chores to do and a couple of errands and I want to do some gardening and scrapbooking, and a workout. Upper body, I think. Maybe PUB.

Hi Shelley and Robin and everyone else.

Today is my rest day, so will probably do some cleaning, check the garden out to see if we have any more red tomatoes or any cucumbers yet.

Supper plans are a great big salad with cukes, peppers, radishes, tomatoes and then grass fed hamburgers and some turkey italian sausage burgers. yummy. Then I will use the leftover turkey burgers for lunches next week.

I need to get back in the swing of things for my lunch time workout. I have been so busy at work I haven't been able to do it.

I am getting more and more excited about the RT, after seeing the pictures posted.

Well I will BBL to catch up.

Shelley, Allie didn't cry at all when I was there. LOL. She just kept saying, "I'm fine, I'm OK, I'm fine."

Shannon, I like your new improved Avatar.

Peggie, are you going on the August RT? Or you just excited in general. Your dinner sounds yummy. I think we're doing pizza tonight.

I can't wait to see some more RT pictures. Kristi, if you get one of us together, I want a copy! Same goes for Allie. I hate having camera issues! I had trouble with a camera when I first met Shelley too.

Morning All!

Robin, thanks for getting us started. You are going to whiten the teeth?? Fabulous! I know that the red wine can really do number on your teeth..don't laugh but I always drink through a straw, even my coffee, it helps the liquid sorta "escape" your teeth. I started doing this when I got my veneers, it works. Now I need to go find you and Tracey's picture, although I am quite sure you look as good or better than anyone there!:D

Shellers, scrapbooking sounds like so much fun, it was huge in Salt Lake City, those Mormons gals really know their way around a scrapbook!:p Our new boat is actually going in the same marina, but a different slip because it is so much bigger. Sending fun and relaxing vibes today chica.

Well, I am here in Vegas already "drying up"....there is no humidity here at all, plus the heat? Yowza. I need to bath in oil I think.
I think I might do Bootcamp, the original one in Shelley's honor today! All week I will do Cathe and my Spinerval workouts, a nice change, but I was really starting to get into CC7 and the itrains, mostly because I loved the cardio equipment at my little San Diego gym...isn't it funny how the right piece of equipment makes your workout feel so much better? My elliptical and treadmill at home do not "fit" my body the same way, strange.

Hello to all my other loverlies!:D

Hi everyone!

Well, I did the job search and nothing tempting showed up. No big surprise there. I plan to talk to my co-worker tomorrow, so hopefully we can dissolve this "little ball of hate" thing.

This weekend I've gotten outside early, like 6:30 or 7 a.m., to take care of the yard work. It's just to nasty humid for me to enjoy it at any other time of the day. Today I'm staying inside to clean house. I've got the crockpot going, and bread is rising... yikes. I'd better go check it!

I'm going to do MM and the B&G abs later today. I'll probably tack on some calf raises and weighted walking lunges too.

Shelley - Oh -Dark Night is the Batman movie? I'm so out of touch. I'm not even tempted by a Batman movie. I'm glad you survived yesterday. It sounded rather hellish. And yes, I redid my avatar. I realized that I don't have to use a picture trail for it - I can upload straight from my computer. So I pulled up the pics you sent me on CD, then cropped it in PhotoShop. It took just about 10 minutes.

Peggie - how big is your garden? I might try a small one next year. Your salad sounds scrumptuous!!

Robin - thank you!

Tneah - If you want humidity, come on down for a visit. You practically need gills to breathe here. I've never experienced true desert heat... but I sure wouldn't mind a lot less humidity!!!

Okay. I gotta get moving. I'll see everyone tomorrow!

Good morning, all!

Robin -- Thanks for asking your DH about those dreams. I'll be starting my 15th year teaching, and I'm hoping that those dreams will end at some point! Of course, my old dept. chair (who retired after 35 years of teaching) told me that he still never slept the night before the new semester. I hope you can finagle those weekend trips out of DH, along with some new workouts! ;) Glad you had fun yesterday, despite the hail storm! What a great idea to whiten your teeth during these wine-less days.

Shannon!! -- Good to see you today, and I love how we can see your pretty face in that close-up from your avatar! That's great to talk to your co-worker to resolve things. You go, girl! Mmm . . . what kind of bread do you have baking? I love bread (drool, drool)!

Shelley -- Glad you're keeping busy, babe. Like Robin asked, do you think there's a chance that you could make the August RT? It would be sooooo fantastic if you could!! Wow! I hadn't realized that Dark Knight was so intense! I'd like to see it, but, knowing us, we'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD, even though it's one of those movies that is probably much better in the theatre. Aw, don't worry about the comfy pants. Seriously!

Tneah -- That is a really, really good sign that you miss the boat already! It'll make the move to living on the new one a lot easier! Have fun doing Bootcamp today, but be careful with it! Isn't that one of the workouts that bothers your hip? Don't overdo it, babe!

Deb -- Did you have any luck getting a KB at the other Target? Hope so!

Peggie -- Sounds like you have a fun day planned, and your meals sounds so yummy! I'm sure that you'll get back into the swing of your lunch workouts soon! Having Tayler sick this past week probably made it much harder to stick to your schedule.

Today I've got Imax 2 scheduled, and that's it for the workout! I may try to squeeze in some yoga tonight. At 2:00 I'm meeting a friend for coffee and some shopping. There's a Loft store in the mall we're meeting at, so I'm going to see if I can pick up some cute tops for the RT.

If Allie and Kristi get a chance to check in, we want to see photos and hear all about your weekend! Hope that Lainie is having a blast in the mountains, that Kara is not up to her ears in errands and house stuff, and that Breck Girl is having a relaxing day! Love and hugs to all! I'll BBL for sure!

Pegsters, yummy! Your dinner plans sound delicious--seriously!:p Enjoy your well deserved rest day!

Shannon, what is the name of your car again? I am bound determined to find myself a little (yet big enough) eco-friendly aka gas friendly car to toodle around SD in! It also has to be big enough to go back and forth to Vegas for the next couple years until we live in SD for good! Will look at the Prius this weekend I think. LOL about needing gills, humidity isn't fun either, I know. I just dislike summertime in general, much more of a fall/winter gal.

Leanne, yeah, bootcamp has some rather hip challenging moves which I simply modify. Guess what?? DH just told me he wants to stay in SD through the middle of November, so I am going to have an early Thanksgiving on our new boat and invite DH's DD and her boyfriend, my dad, and our friends from Florida, how exciting is that? So you are stuck with me for awhile down there chica! I am so excited as I really have taken to marina life, flip flops and all!:)

OK everyone except BG and Peggy cause I already have yours...pretty please send me your addresses again? I lost them when they changed the forums, thanks! I want to be sure I have them and I trust you will all let me know when you run out of product right?;) I need to have the office ship me more stuff, my "supply" is getting low round here...we give out lots of product to our friends, its so nice to share!:D

Off to workout, then I think we will head on up to the strip and have a late lunch at Joe's Stone Crab...they have a fabulous lobster salad, will try and restrain myself with their bread basket, which has the most yummy bread variety in the entire Universe!

Robin – hope your day at work goes smoothly with no super-bugs! I’m like Tneah – I drink almost everything through a straw. I had that Zoom whitening done on my teeth before I decided to get braces, and had to stop whitening for the 2 weeks prior to getting my metal mouth (so I wouldn’t be quite so sensitive). My dentist told me that if I wanted to drink red wine, to just rinse right after. How sexayyy is that??? (skuse me, but I’m going to swish and spit now) Now I really have to be careful with staining foods since I have the clear braces on the top. But I don’t think your teeth look anything but sparkly! We are all our own worst critics.

Shannon – mmmmmmmmm bread. I bet your house smells positively amazing with all that cooking going on. I have got to get in the kitchen today and get DH’s meals set up. I typically cook a lot of Sunday afternoons and then portion it out so he can take lunches and such. Maybe I’ll pull out the ole crockpot… you’ve inspired me. Enjoy your yard work! I know about that humidity! UGH. LMAO about needing gills. That’s the truth.

Shelley – oooh, I never thought about bringing it home… gonna have to seriously consider that. I wouldn’t need a wig – I could just put on the lead apron (and nothing else)… let’s not forget the collar, too. Hmmmm… THAT would really be hawt. Sorry you had a rough night. I’ve heard that movie is really dark. Didn’t “they” say that was supposedly part of Heath’s issues before he died? I dunno – seems like I heard that on the radio or something. How did CleanMax go? And LaundryMax?

Kara – you are one busy lady! Hope you get a sec to check in with us. Oh – I forgot you asked what I did that required a lead apron… I work on a mobile medical clinic where we diagnose and recommend treatment for swallowing disorders. We take a moving x-ray of the swallow (barium mixed with different textures of food and liquid) and check out what’s happenin inside. One of my coworkers kiddos came in while she was reviewing a study that she took home because she wanted to recheck, and said, “mommy, are you watching skeletons swallowing again?” So cute. Anyway, that’s what I do. We have to cover up in lead to protect ourselves from the x-ray. So I have a full lead apron covering most of my front (except arms and below the knees) and then a thyroid collar to protect my neck area and thyroid gland!

Peggie – how cool you grow your own stuff! A fresh salad like that sounds delish. I’ll be right over.

Tneah – glad you made it back safely! Have fun at lunch and enjoy your Cathe-filled week! This is my last week of “freedom.” I’m going to pick your brain for cardio ideas once I get my times. You are so amazingly sweet to offer up products… I can’t even get over it.

Leanne – I love IMAX2. Something about Cathe’s pigtails, and she seems so happy in that one. Dang that girl can jump. I hate those Genie hops… I never think they’re going to end, and they end up making my R hip flexor cranky. Go figure. But you know you’re home free when the pina colada song comes on!!! That just pumps me up til the end. Your day sounds divine. IMAX 2, coffee, shopping, friends… what a perfect Sunday! DH and I are going to see Beckham at the soccer game tonight. I REALLY don’t exactly want to go, but it makes DH happy. The people we have season tickets with may be there – and it’s just been really awkward with them… he told DH he was cheating on his wife (they’ve been married 2 years) with one of the “women” (I use that term loosely… pardon the pun) who works at the soccer field. It’s just such an awkward situation and I just really don’t want to go! I just feel really over-protective of my friend I guess... or something.

Allie and Kristi – can’t wait to hear details and see pictures! We’ve missed you but are sure you’re having a blast!!!!

Deb – hope you found your KB and that you’re having a great weekend!

Lainie – and you, my twin – can’t wait to hear all about your weekend, too! I hope it was relaxing and peaceful!!!

Hey ladies,

Tneah -- Hooray for being out here until November! That'll give us so much time to play and have fun!! I'm on sabbatical this fall, you know, so even though I have to do work most days, I'll have a lot of flexibility in my schedule for us to meet and have fun! Hooray! Your Thanksgiving plans sound wonderful! What a fun way to break in the new boat -- with dear family and friends!! :D Oh, if you're interested in the Prius, my DH has one and loves it! Your lunch sounds wonderful today -- and enjoy that bread basket! ;)

Breckie Babe -- Oh, I remember you mentioning something about that "friend" and his affair. Gosh, that would make me so upset that I don't think I could even look at that man without spitting on him. What an awkward position that puts you in, though, since you have to be friendly to them both, while screaming inside. You poor thing! Hopefully they won't be there! LOL about the pina colada song in Imax 2; I always think the same thing -- that it's almost over! Those genie hops really are a killer! Yes, hanging out with my friend will be really nice. We're meeting at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (do you have those in TX?) and I always splurge on a Morrocan (sp?) Mint Tea Latte -- dark chocolate, peppermint, and tea. Yum!

Off to do Imax 2! Later, gators!:p

Hello Kittens--

Robin - I am going to the August RT. I am starting to get really excited. Starting of thinking what to pack. I'm usually the type to do everything the night before. I don't think that will work in this instance though.

Shannon - Our garden is not huge. We just have a variety of hot and sweet peppers, all kinds of tomatoes and cucumbers. We have about 12 tomato plants, one bed of cucumbers and about 8 pepper plants. I usually can a bunch of tomatoes and make salsa. We also just make salads out of it all too. Last year I think I canned about 24 quarts of tomatoes, which we used through the winter for chili and things like that. Yummy.

Tneah - Again thanks for being so generous with your products. I really appreciate that. I love trying new stuff.

Hey everyone, CC Sean has dropped all his prices. If you buy 3 CCs for MP3 they are only $6.95 each. That is a GREAT price.

Allie and Kristi - Hope you guys had a blast at the RT. Cannot wait to see some more pictures.

Shelley - You sound great today. I am hoping for a little quieter work week. Tayler is still coughing, but I can tell she feels much better.

Hi to everyone else I missed. I'm sure I will BBL

Hi all. I'm back home but at the moment I have a headache and I'm exhausted. I'm going to go do some laundry and then rest a bit. Hope to bb this evening. Missed ya'll.

Hey chatty melters...

Well, I've been a busy bee so far. Went out to run some errands, came home, put laundry on, went outside and did a bunch o'garden work (moved some plants, pulled some others, chopped things back), came in, vacuumed, switched laundry loads... whew! I'm off to to PUB in a few and then some scrapbooking. I think it'll be big salads for dinner.

Shannon - I like the new av so much better! It's nice to see your face smiling at us:)

Tneah - your lunch sounds faboo. I, too, am a glutton for the bread basket.

Leanne - your day sounds lovely. How was Imax 2? I haven't done that one in forever.

Peggie - salad from your own garden sounds scrumptious.

Lainie - take some Advil for that headache and relax!

Hi to everyone else! Off I go to do more stuff.

Good afternoon meltie ones. It was another hectic day at work, but no where as bad as yesterday. I just finished up GS Legs and am cooling down before we head into town for pizza night.

Shelley, sounds like you have a productive day. I love days when I've gotten alot done and you can see the difference. Like how purty the flower beds look when they've been newly weeded. Not that mine have.

Peggie, lucky you! I wish I could get to Cathe's to meet you, but we will be in VA. Every year our garden gets smaller. I had some beans planted, but something, I think a groundhog, ate them. All I have now are tomatoes. I used to have lettuce, peas and peppers, but between varmits, weeds and little interest, they never did very well.

BG, well, I ended up with store brand whitening strips. We'll see what happens. Do you think rinsing after coffee will help? I'm not quiet prepared to drink coffee with a straw. I'd love to go to the soccer game, but would hate all the subtrefuge. Is that spelled right? Was the guy boasting to your DH? Is he really telling the truth, or do you think maybe he's making it up? What do I know. I've never been in a situation like that and tend to think the best of people, which is probably dumb.

Tneah, I'll PM you my address. I love getting packages from you! I'm in good shape since your last package. Love, love, love it all!

Shannon, sorry to hear there aren't any promising openings.

I, too, an looking forward to pictures from the trippers. I'm sure they had a great time. Hey to the rest of you melters out there. Gotta go get cleaned up.

Robin - we had to build a fence around our garden because of deer, rabbits and gophers. It is doing really well though. I usually rinse after I drink coffee. In fact, at work I have my cup of water and my cup of coffee and alternate. I wish I could meet you in person too. That would be so fun.

Leanne - Okay lady, which KB workout, Newport or the sand dude. Newport looks really good, but it pisses me off they are 50 bucks. That seems like a huge amount of money. I know they are good, but holy crap. Let me know what you think.

BBL

Hey fellow melties. I am having a craptabulous day here. Good news, though...Colin passed the exam and can now possibly referree Emma's soccer games (is that good???). He is excited. Oh, and the house is still a disaster. Interesting thing though, I was chosen to participate in a brain tumor study as a nonbrain tumor person (thought the aspartame had already done its magic at first!). Apparently, TN, GA, KY, AL, and FL have a higher incidence of adults diagnosed with uncurable brain tumors. The study has enough evidence behind it to be funded by the NIH. They don't know if it is due to environmental factors or lifestyle choices. I just have to answer questions for about an hour this coming week. I am not so pleased with this info about our area as my diet soda consumption has not been decreasing...oh well, enough about me.

Peggie--The sand dude will kick your a$$ like nobody's business if the cost of Anthony's bothers you. Newport is my fav, but the sand dude is a close second.

Robin--Enjoy your pizza this evening!

Shelley--You put me to shame with your productiveness! The Camprock CD is still in existence. You are so smart for not having a television. My CSI withdrawal would be too fierce if I got rid of it though! I only allow her an hour of electronics per day unless we have a particular movie to watch , etc., but she ALWAYS chooses to 1) watch tv and 2) watch that *&%^(*&^( Disney channel. Fortunately, she lost her electronics privilege this weekend, so she is back to talking about gross bugs and stuff. ;-) The HSM movies aren't that bad. All of the gossip is what bothers me the most I guess!

I have to tend to something. Will be right back!

Back!

BG—Your job sounds so interesting and your garb particularly fashionable. I took a Diet & Disease course last semester and learned about all sorts of swallowing problems and how difficult it is to eat, etc. I love the comment by your coworker’s kiddo, lol!

Lainie—I hope your headache dissipates!

Tneah—How was lunch? It is great that you love the boat life! It sounds really fun and calming to be near/on the water.

Leanne—Hi! It is great that you will get away next weekend. Was the time with your friend fun? It sounds like a heavenly day!

Shannon—Sorry there weren’t any job openings. I hope you can work things out with the nasty coworker. I hear ya on the humidity! I am sooo sick of this weather. WI was so nice when we were there. A bit chilly, but most days were around 80* with nighttime temps in the 50s. I never thought I would long for WI’s climate! What is wrong with me?????? So, do you get your car soon? I love your new avatar, by the way!

OK, I must deal with dinner. My stove is in the middle of the kitchen *floor*, so that limits the choices, doesn’t it? Oh dear…

Have a great night ladies!

Hey ladies,

Just got back from a wonderful afternoon with my friend, but am now totally p*ssed off since the BIL spent the day playing freakin' video games with DH. As I walked in the door, they were headed out to go buy more beer. WTH?! So one more weekend has gone by of him sitting on his rear end and not looking for an apartment of his own. *Steam is now blowing out of my ears*

OK, sorry for once again being so self-absorbed. :( I hate how I've been lately. So, so sorry!!

Kara and Peggie -- I saw you posted on the RT check-in! I feel so bad that I get in so late on Thursday. Are you sure you don't mind waiting for me to get dinner???

Peggie -- Yes, as Kara said, the Sand Dude is a great DVD, and it's cheaper than Newport! They both rock, but you'll be happy with the Sand Dude for sure. Was the other DVD you got $40? For some reason, I though it was $30, but went to buy it and had to stop since I didn't realize it was so much. Your garden sounds so lovely!

Kara -- Sorry that your day has been craptabulous (great word, though!)!! {{{HUGS}}}! Is that going to be an issue to have Colin referee for Emma? Hmm . . . . That study sounds so interesting, but how scary about the rate of brain tumors in that area! My material GF had a brain tumor when my mom was just a little girl, and the treatments at the time were so awful that they ended up giving him a partial lobotomy. Isn't that sad? He never learned to speak English again, but could communicate in Italian a little bit with my GM and my mom. He used to love to play hide and seek with us when we were kids. :) Will you ultimately find out the results of the research? We need to help you kick that diet soda (Mountain Dew, right?!) habit so that we don't need to worry! Oh no about that stove in the middle of the kitchen!

Shelley -- Sounds like you had a great day! Imax 2 was fun, and I had a pina colada protein smoothie afterwards in honor of the pina colada song!;) What kind of scrap booking project are you working on? I'd love to see photos!! Will you share some with us? That would be so cool!

Robin --- Mmm . . . pizza! Keep us posted on how you like the teeth whitening strips. I've been curious as to how well they work.

Lainie -- Glad you had a fun weekend! That sounds so wonderful to head up to the mountains.

Hope our traveling ladies are all safe! Love and hugs to all!:D
