STS NEWS YEARS CHALLENGERS...WEEK OF JUNE 5!

Hi ladies! Happy Friday indeed Wendy! :) Whew today has been ca-raz-a. Even though I didn't work today I've been running non-stop since 9:00 am this morning so I wasn't able to sneak in a workout until this evening. I just finish BM2 (no weights). I decided to change it up a little and it went a little something like this: warm-up, bonus cardio, step segments (1-3), bonus cardio, power circuits (all 4), cool down. It was about 75 minutes total and it wiped me out. BM2 gets me every time. I think it is the high intensity on the 8 inch step. I'm starting to think it's harder for me than the Imaxes. Crazy right? I'm thinking about kicking up my feet with a margarita for the rest of the evening. Oh happy day! :p

Kris: That crockpot chicken sounds awesome! I'm definitely adding that to my recipe rotation. I love to cook but it's so hot around here right now the thought of turning on my oven makes me want to vomit. :D I have to admit I never want to skip my rest day. I look forward to it every week! Since you mentioned doing the Abs Circuits yoga w/o this weekend I think i'll do it too. :) I'm all about copying people's workouts lately. Have a great time at your parties this weekend!!

Autumn: I hope you survive tutu hell tonight! I danced when I was young and I have very fond memories of the recitals. My favorite part was the "backstage getting ready crazy drama." Just think what wonderful memories you are creating for your DD! :) I have to admit just reading your crazy schedule is making me tired. Way to still sneak in your workouts!!

Wendy: I love the phrase "workout ADD". :) I have to admit I pictured you as a very organized person for some reason but I love the fact that you are a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kinda gal! I fall into the more "organized" category - laundry and grocery shopping every Sunday, lay my clothes out the night before (most of the time), plan each week's meals in advance, etc. Thanks so much for the link to the BodyRock information! I checked it out and it definitely looks interesting!

Kiki: Is that workout done yet?!?!? **STERN FACE** (which cracks almost immediately into a sheepish smile). ETA: Oops look like we posted at the same time. I retract my stern face (which was pretty wimpy to begin with). Your rants always crack me up! I'm definitely fine with changing the thread name...you have a point there. :) Since it sounds like you've had a crazy week, i'll ship you a margarita to sip on too! I hope you're safe from the storms!! Why don't you send a few of those storms my way. We went from non-stop rain and flooding to NO rain and getting close to a drought. Damn weather. :p

Tracy: YAY!!! I'm so glad DH is coming home! :) Great workouts today! You rocked it out for sure. Good luck with your push-up challenge! YOU CAN DO IT! :) Yeah and what is up with your SIL not liking you?!?! That's crazy talk!!!!!!!

Kristin: Hope you're having a great Friday!!

Part two

ok, everyone all situated again? Good, now we may begin ;)

Now, where did I leave off in my last check-ins.....oh yeah there was some talk of ghetto booty's and "v's" ...oh, my...maybe I shouldn't start there....

Wendy: Look at you!!! All slim and trim, resetting your weight goals to drop ANOTHER 5 #, aaaannnnnddddd ROCKIN that Zuzanna w/o! That w/o is NO JOKE, I'm serious. I could see havin DOMS all weekend from that baby  . And as for your DH not buggin you during w/o's, I wish I could be so lucky! My DS is the one coming down every 5 min to "get something." (There is SO nothing for him to "get" down there, execpt a peak at some hot chicks in tight w/o clothes on the dvd  .....who does he think he's kidding?!) And then there's his dad, who either calls (simply because he know that his call is the only one I will answer - as a homeschool mom I typically don't p/u the phone during the day...too distracting) w/the old "watcha doin?" routine  OR if he's here and I'm working out, he always seems to show up just in time for the stretch segment.... yeah....)

Autumn: Are you trying to call my bluff  !!! Girl, you are lucky that it's those beautiful babies in that picture, and not you! :p OR ELSE!!!! You know what, maybe I WILL come to RT anyway, and walk right up to you IN MY HOME WORKOUT CLOTHES (meaning the ones I wear AT home, not ones that I bought to impress ya'll ;) ), and give you a BIG OL hug and tell everyone how we are related (maybe a couple times removed to make up for a few shades in skin tone :p ), hang around you all day in my HOMESCHOOL MOM GEAR (oh, don't try to act like you don't know what I'm talking bout  ) AND THEN come STEP RIGHT NEXT TO YOU, TRIPPING OVER MY STEP AND ALL!!!! yeah........how ya like me now? Bet you won't change that picture  ........

LOLOL You know I'm just messin w/ya girl. I'm sure I'll notice you and your glow as soon as I enter the building (since you'll already be there  ), I suppose there's a possibility that you'd notice me first...If you see me from behind! :p LOL since my avatar is a backside view of the "junk". Come to think of it, DH takes a LOT of pics of me from behind...should I be offended, or take it as a compliment? Anyway, good luck w/tutu madness in case we don't hear from ya.

Kris: Thanks for the recipe! Sounds like something my DH would love. No I didn't get any Step in today :( ... I mean, technically, I used the step, but just for HIIT, so no choreo. My legs are seriously jelly, right now. I'm SO glad I'm not working out today. I'm right there w/ya on the Stretch Max. I only did one Segment (because DH arrived home early, and started "watching" me  ) but I felt like doing the whole thing...and then some, lol. I am soooo sore, I might get down there on the foam roller later if I have time, but idk. Good luck w/ all the parties this weekend, and trying to tame the eating monster (you're a better one than me  ). If not, you always know that you can get right back on the horn when you get home (or Monday)...you know how it goes.

........................Intermission..............................

Part three.... had to go and do a finger stretch :p

Tracy: Hubby's home, again! Now you tell him to stay put...that'll be enough of that ;) Oh, and I finally get to see your signature :D I likey!. Now, what the heck w/the hater SIL. HOW long have you and your DH been together now?! That makes me mad. It reminds me of my step-aunt. My mom remarried when I was like 13, and one day when I was grown and married (maybe like 25) she calls my mom (while at the other SIL's house getting wasted  ) and says "we just thought that we should call and let you know that....WE'VE ALWAYS HATED YOU." What the?!? My mom was SO hurt, I felt so bad for her. What kind of horrid person would do something like that? And to her brother's wife? Some people. Yeah, I don't like to get into being catty, either, but I say...you get 'em girl. Knock 'em dead! ;) BTW, is this the same lady that you were talking about that always talks about how fit she is or how great her muscles look, or something like that?

Katie: Sounds like your day went like mine. And excuse me, young lady, how dare you interrupt my five page post :p LOL. Nice job on BM, I don't even have that one...I mean, it does have a STEP in it right? And harder than Imaxes  ....Eh, no thanks. I'm ready to toss mine at the first person that comes through the door, lol. Ya never know, though, one day I may change my mind, but I've got enough step nonsense on my plate right now....Well, enjoy that Margarita girl! Nice way to wind it down after that crazy day. If you want, you can skip all the extra's and just send me the TEQUILA! :p  Which, btw (and I'm about to let you in on some top secret info here) is my name!!! Yep, just like the drink (but spelled w/an "A" instead of "E") Shhhhhhh, don't tell no one......

Enjoy your weekend ladies.

(if there were any typo's....oh well....that was WAY too much typing to have to actually proofread...I'm so off duty right now ;) )

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread..

Hi everyone!

Kris: I just had your crockpot chicken and it was delish. I have to say: I did not use any taco seasoning, because I had none (I thought I did), but by the time I threw stuff in...too late. Also, I made another change: I used 98% fat free cream of chicken instead and I used my own salsa instead of in a jar. Also, I put frozen chicken in the pot, so I had to thicken the sauce with a bit of corn starch. But it was delish. I made rice for the family and had just a bit for me.. It was delicious on that and then I had it on a bed of romaine lettuce...yum!

Homemade salsa recipe:

2 cans S & W diced organic tomatoes
1 bunch cilantro
1-2 fresh jalapenos (depending on heat)
garlic (to your taste)
1 sweet red onion.
3/4 t. salt or to taste

quarter the onion, and place it in a cuisinart with the cilantro (ends cut off) and jalapeno. Pulse until there are no large onion pieces. Then dump in the 2 cans tomato and fresh garlic and salt to your taste. Pulse to mix , et voila...yum.

Kiki: the lady who shows off her musckles and my SIL are not the same person. I am sorry that your mom had that to deal with.. She sounds great from what you told me..she had a great daughter!

Katie: BM2 wipes me out too...which is why I haven't done it for a bit.

autumn: woohoo on the push up challenge!!! were you wearing a tutu?:p

fit mommy: you make yourself sound like a sloth!! I can be lazy with the best of 'em too! I think that's why I like working out because it makes me feel like I am not as much...

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Good Saturday morning to you all. Just got done working out - whew! I did what I'd planned - disc 4 (wow wow pushups...), AC (yoga one - 1st time I did that one - I should have known those levitation things she likes would be in that one... oh my - and yeah, right ) and 20 minutes cardio too. Ahhh - sitting now with a cup of coffee and my feet up:) Party last night was really nice, did well with the food, but did have a malibu and pineapple juice (mmmm - but not the most calorie/ww friendly choice of drink - oh well). I'll be going to get my hair cut/highlighted here in a bit and then back home and to the neighbor's party - they are having a band and everything, ought to be good - they also put up a sand volleyball area in their back yard - pretty cool:)

Kiki - your "rant" cracked me up! Great job with all the workouts on top of your crazy schedule! That takes dedication for sure - and lol too about not being able to "pause" Cathe live:)

Tracy - I'm glad you liked the chicken - your version sounds awesome! And thanks for the salsa recipe, I'll be trying that for sure - sounds yummy! (I love homemade salsa - I'm just usually too lazy to prep it all:eek:) Glad your DH is home:)

Katie - Great job getting BM2 in even with your crazy day too! I have that video, but have not done the whole thing:eek: - I'll have to try it sometime but, wow, harder than the Imaxs?

Autumn - I hope the tutu marathon went well:) And getting the workouts in with everything else - wow, you guys are a motivating bunch!

Wendy - Hope M3 workout went good and that your neck is better:)

Have a great day everyone!

good morning. This morning I did LBB and boy was it tough. I was sweatinG! Why do I think I can use weight on that one when Cathe doesn't? Mistake! I used weight on the elevated lunges and I was in pain!:(:p

DH went into his office this a.m. since he was gone all week so that gave me a peaceful w/o, not like Kiki's!!! because my DH will come in and check on me too.."you done yet?":mad: The girls were fine. They were making waffles...they only interrupted me once ::"Where's the waffle iron?" I don't know!!! I haven't used it for months!

This afternoon we are going to a big rodeo here that they have at this time every year. No, I am not a cowgirl...but some friends of ours talked my husband into buying some tickets for us...and when he heard about the colossal deep-fried corn dogs,,,it was a done deal . Oh, well something for my DD's scrapbook.

bon week-end!

Look Katie, I'm sipping a margarita with ya!!!!:eek::p I survived last night!!! **happy dance with no tutu** Tonight is the last night of the dance year & I just get to enjoy. YAY!!! I am tired and decided to take a rest day since I had 6 workouts in for the week. I'm still unhappy I didn't finish my "to do list" but tomorrow starts a new workout week. :D I think I need to include the spinerval workouts for now b/c they brought my scale and me together... we are friendly again. :)

Tracy ~ Great job with LBB!!! I can't believe you used weights when Cathe didn't... you are fierce!!!! ROFL @ me wearing a tutu? I think I could wear one as a hat. ;) I think I'll start the push up challenge too. Why no?? :p You salsa sounds yummy!!! How was the rodeo? Is it miserably hot where you live?

Kiki ~ I'm ready for ya!!!;):) LOL @ your DH's pic taking :D It is a compliment. Hmmmm... you do have a point on the recognition thingy... hmmmm. So what should we call ourselves? 2012 STS check-in? STSers gone wild? :p;)

Kris ~ How was Stretch Max? Excited to have another RN on here with me. :) What specialty are you in? I am on Weight Watchers too & losing very slowly (I'm blaming nursing the baby and my female fat cells). This weekend... you this girl!!! I know what you mean though. Disney kinda scares me... I'm afraid I'll eat too much junk.

Ok ladies, time for me to start gettin' ready. Gotta look presentable tonight since I won't be hidden in the corner backstage.:rolleyes:;)

Hola Amigos!! Today I did HiiT 40/20 and Ab Circuits - yoga (see Kris, I told you I was a workout copycat :p). I felt bad skimping a little on the cardio but I had to hurry and get done to get to my nephew's first t-ball game and then I shelled peas for 2 hours. My fingers are killing me!! I'm thinking about doing 30-60 minutes of yoga tonight. No real reason why...I just wanna. The only thing that might stop me is my wrist. I had a frozen ice cream dessert thingie (leftover from DH b-day) in the freezer and when I opened the freezer door to put away the strawberry ice cream I was eating (oops ) the dessert pan came flying out, slapped my wrist, bounced multiple times on the hardwood floor (like a basketball) and skid to a stop by the sink. I mean I know I shouldn't have been eating ice cream but that was one hellavu punishment! :) Guess I learned my lesson. ;) My wrist is bruised and swollen slightly. I'm a little worried about the push-ups in tomorrow's STS workout. Guess i'll have to play it by ear....

Autumn: Me likely your picture!!!! Very nice! Did you daughter have a good time last night? Yay for the end of tutu hell!!! BTW, what are "spinverals"? Workouts on a spin bike? Yay i'm glad you and your scale are on good terms again. I always like it when that happens!! :)

Tracy: Oh I LOVE rodeos!! I've only gone to a few but I always have such a fantastic time. All those guys in those tight jeans...YUM! :p ;) I'm definitely a country girl but with a love for NY city and shoes - i'm a weird breed I know. Way to go with LBB. You are DEFINITELY a trooper if you are adding weights when Cathe isn't using any. Get it girl! :)

Kris: Whew are you exhausted? Just reading the workouts you did today is making me tired. :p Great job!!!!! Candidly, most people probably don't think BM2 is harder than the Imaxes. I'm probably the exception. :) I think it's because I can mentally and physically push myself through an intense segment if I know I have a break coming up...even just a short break. BM2 just keeps going and going and going and going. Plus I don't do a lot of high intensity/high impact on an 8 inch step so I think that contributes to the intensity. It really is a fun workout though! Fantastic music!!

Kiki: Oops sorry for interrupting your rant. I have to admit I enjoyed it very much though!! Uh oh, watch out for Kiki and the flying step! Death by Step - I can see the movie title now!! :p Just kidding of course. Now I know what to send you for Christmas - a bottle of tequila. Most people just send cards but I'm a classy girl like that. Haha! Is your name really taquila?!?! That's awesome!! How come I got such a boring name...i'm very jealous! :p

Wendy and Kristin: I hope you gals are having a great weekend so far!

Hey all! Quick check in for me. Thursday I did M1 D2 and then Friday was a rest day. I coached tee ball this spring and DH and I treated our team for an end of season ice cream and go kart party. They all had fun, but I was too beat to workout when the night was over, lol. Today I did M1 D3, legs. My legs are feeling it already!!

Tomorrow is my younger DS birthday party. He just turned three. It should be fun. It is supposed to rain, but we are having it at this place called Pump It Up. It is an indoor inflatable rides place. It should be fun.

I will be back and some point to get into personals. Have to get the boys ready for bed.

Kristin
