STS NEW YEARS CHALLENGERS...WEEK OF JUNE 12th!

Autumn:: I am unaware of what Zuzanna's previous profession was!?!?! DO TELL!!!!!!:eek::D:eek: YAY for surviving! You definitely deserve an award for that!!!!!! ;) Nice work outs! I have all of the Squeezes but just don't have the time to fit everything in! BodyRock has currently bullied it's way in and "Squeezed" everything else out! LOL :p

Ladies, I did finish my w/o's today ;). So it was: High Reps, Intensity (HIIT Hi & lo - ended up doing both :eek: ) & STS Extended Stretch. Felt good to get some weight work in there. Tomorrow will be back to my regularly scheduled stepping. YAY! :rolleyes:

Welcome Melanie! You'll come to love this check-in for sure. This group is a riot...and sure to keep you on your toes ;) Good job so far w/ Meso 1. You're becoming a success story already :eek:

Wendy ~ She was an "erotic model" :(. I think she used the name Zuzana Spears & maybe some other names. :confused: She discussed it in an interview posted on her site 01-04-11 under Life & Travel. I'm happy to read she has turned her life around and hope it stays that way. I wonder what fitness company "CEO said that they couldn’t work with [Zuzana & Freddy] directly because their marketing department just couldn’t find a way to ”make it [her past] look good”? Anyway, her workouts are great!

4DS HIS/LIS Cardio Premix - CHECK! :) I also realized I was slacking slightly in the abs department and, because I knew our resident Abs Nazi was going to get on me, I threw in B&G Stability Ball Abs. That's a gem I tend to forget about!

Autumn: Yay you survived! Another year to prepare for the next go-round. :) I'm definitely taking Nurse Autumn's advice and resting my wrist. The judge told me today that if it's not better by the end of the week he was "forcing" me to go to the doctor. :eek: I definitely do NOT get up at 3:45am to workout (though I commend those who do). I usually fall out of bed around 5:15, eat something small, doing my "morning stuff," feed the cats, get dressed, watch the news for a few minutes, and try to get my workout started by 5:45 am. Getting up at 5:15 is my limit! "Hey Autumn be careful & don't fall down" - don't kill me but I laughed like crazy at this! :eek: :p

Melanie: Welcome to the group! We are very glad you decided to join us! This is a fantastic group of gals. There is always tons of fun happening in this check-in! ;) Great job with STS thus far. Like you, I was very worried about starting STS because of the "weight gain" stories. So far, i've lost a few pounds (I think - my scale is broken so I can't confirm). Not as much as I would like but it's my own fault because my eating has been off the hook. Nonetheless, i'm noticing definite strength gains and loving STS - especially Meso 2! Keep rocking it out!!!

Wendy: "A Bunch of Bad Ass Chicks Who Do STS!" - I LIKE IT!!! :) HIS is definitely complex but I have to admit I love it. It's one of my favorite routines. It took me 3-4 times to get because it is tricky tricky! If I can give any advice on learning the routine, it's "right, left, right, left". Not very helpful? Yeah, I know. I suck at teaching! :D :p

Katie

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

I also can't tell you how wonderful it is to hear I'm not the only person for whom step is a challenge. I mean, if it's more advanced than the basic, I'm definitely doing it incorrectly.

I've got to check out this body rock, stuff. Sounds intense.

ok,ok workout chick friends (as my DH lovingly :D calls you) here I am! Yes I have been MIA...but I have good excuse....

While my husband was away last week, he spoke with some other bike freaks...so he decided ...that I need to start riding with him... which means he ;) gets a new bike and I ride his old one,,,which is basically like new. And I really don't giving a flying fig what I ride because I am not a bike freak and don't know what the heck I am doing anyway except peddling. So longer story...we went to the bike shop this morning (instead of working out) and looked at bikes and he got one :eek:.

That is part of the story, but then... also....it is a few days before TTOM, so ofcourse, I had to wake up at 5 this morning and be upset about stuff and have a crying jag for about an hour...then went back to sleep till 8 and then got up cried a little bit more...rather loudly and then went on with my day :p Don't you love hormones!!???

Autumn: glad you survived the crazy tutus...hats off to you.. I am the mean mommy who said "don't even think about it." (is there such a thing as a dirty harry smiley?) Interest info on Zuzanna...who cares...as long as she is on the right path now. I am happy for her. I have never done a Body Rock but hope to soon. Those people who say they can't endorse her are like those who live in glass houses. Or like some people who have committed adultery saying congressmen should step down because he flashes on twitter or whatever...(and everyone seems to overlook this fact!) but I won't go any farther on that one.

Melanie: welcome. look fwd to knowing you.. I hope I am not repeating myself ..but so many have joined lately. I love STS

ricklyk1: the rodeo was...interesting. Really it wasn't so bad. My DH got us an 18" long deep fried corn dog. I only had 5-6 bites with mustard...but oh it was good and a tad obscene:eek::eek:!

end of part one******

part the second.

Kristin: I max 3 is tough, but I have grown to love it too. Happy birthday! and good for you!

fit mommy: you are the body rocker.. becauseof you I have checked out the site and I really like it too. She had a hot bod...but I look at past photos and think maybe she has put on a tad of weight maybe? what do you think? They certainly look like sccccarry w/o to do.. but I really do want to try them out. I saved the link at the top of my apple.

Today I started week 3 of Meso 2...I think it is disk 18. It was great....because I got my STS tower today!!! I ABSOLUTELY love it. It is so wonderful to have it and not schlep my barbell around.! Then I did my 7wks to 100 pushups too. I'll get there. I did 50 push ups today...of course in sets. back in November...I had difficulty doing 8 on my knees. I wanted to do KCM kb workout, but DH wants me to hang with him.. So I suppose I will. I am tired anyway from all that wailing and weeping:confused::D:rolleyes::mad: this morning.

ta ta...love to you all

Hey all. Tonight's workout was M1 D4, Chest, shoulders and biceps. I forgot about all the push ups! Lord have mercy, I think my pecs will be sore for the entire week. They are shaking as I type this, lol.

tralaiven- I am always an emotional freak show right before TOTM. And it is weird, because I logically know it is coming and I am hormonal, and yet I cannot control myself, lol. I always pick a fight with poor DH!

Ricky- Love the new nickmane for Wendy, abs nazi, lol. She has inspired me to do abs more days than not. It has been working, so I have to give her credit, lol. I love that premix from 4DS BTW! For the last two years my presents have all been Cathe related in some way or another. . . STS was Christmas, lol.

Autumn- with my first round of STS I definitely got better definition and increased my strength. I didn't lose any weight, but I was not looking to lose weight just tighten up.

Welcome Melanie and Jenfit! I just rejoined this group this week. I am on disc 4 on my second round of STS.

Kiki- I teach middle school, so I know first hand that these cute little moments will at some point or another be replaced with teen rebellion and boy am I not looking forward to that! :confused:eek::rolleyes: It will take a few times for me to master IMAX 3. Some of those steps are hard to get. Keep at it!

Wendy- maybe I have lost it, huh? I think the music is pumping, lol. I still need to get the moves down though.

Okay, I think that catches me up. BB tomorrow!

Kristin

Hi there ladies! I did Disc 5 this a.m., whew... definitely some fire in my triceps:) Loved using the tower instead of the bands - but man, I'm terrible at chin ups/pull ups! :eek: I'm bummed right now though, I had planned to do some cardio today too, but my left ankle (achilles) is hurting me - so I figured I'd probably better rest it - I did the STS extended stretch this afternoon hoping it would help to stretch it out more. Hope it feels better tomorrow :( I realized I have very little cardio options here that are good with a bum ankle...

Kristin - great job on your workout - I know what you mean about those pushups - yikes! :)

Tracy - Woo hoo on getting the tower! :) And cool about the bike too. I hear you too about TTOM - I do the same, crying one minute at times and fine the next... yeesh:confused:

Katie - Yay on the workout for you too! I haven't done that premix, but I especially liked the music in the HIS, I want to do that one again soon:) And then the abs from B&G, great job!

Kiki - Way to go on your workout too - wow, High Reps and Intensity workouts too - that's awesome! You guys are going to have so much fun on the RT, can't wait to hear from you:)

Autumn - that's awesome that you're a SAHM now, nursing will always be there:) Great job with your workouts again - the spinervals sound especially interesting! And so glad you survived the tutu marathon:)

Wendy - love the name you came up with! Woohoo on your workout - I checked out the Bodyrock site - looks like awesome workouts! Wow - that's quite the challenge. My current official weigh in day is Monday - I've moved it around - Monday works for me even after the weekend, maybe keeps me on track a little on Sundays:) (Same weight for me this a.m. as last Monday, but the 2 weeks before I'd lost, so it's all good) I do weigh myself pretty much every day too, I know they say you shouldn't, but it keeps me on track:)

Jeni and Melanie - Welcome! this is a great group, I'm a newcomer to the group too, just started STS last week - I'm loving it:)

Hope you all have a great night:)

Good morning everyone!

So this morning I did Bootcamp 4DS plus HIIT 30/30. But I gotta tell you guys that my legs were still sore from legs Disc 9 on Sunday!! What's with that???

I guess its good that STS is getting me in spots that I've apparantely missed so hopefully I'll get stronger soon and develop some chiselled legs!

Tomorrow is the start of week 4 meso 1. Woohoo! For my rest week I'll be in Mystic CT, but plan on doing some running and maybe throw in a Travel Fit workout.

Since this is my first time doing STS, I'd love to hear what everyone else has done during their rest week.

OK, happy Tuesday everyone! :)

Morning!

Today's agenda is step :rolleyes: , abs, and stretch. I'll be doing Step Blast (since we ALL know how much fun I had last time I did it :confused: ), the functional core segment of CCC and hopefully, if time permits, the stability ball stretch from SM.

Kris: Nice job w/the pull-ups (it can only get better, right ;) ) Just keep imagining how trim your waist will look from all your pulling efforts, gotta love that v-taper look :) . Sorry to hear about your ankle :( , I hate when the injury is something that seems to affect everything. It is really hard to do cardio w/o involving the ankle...maybe combine different punching routines from some kickbox vids? Hope it gets better soon.

Kristin: How could you forget about the pushups!? :eek: When I think of Meso 1, that's ALL I see in my head (which is why it usually takes me a while to psych myself up enough to start again :eek: ). You teach middle school? I'm so sorry :p . Just kidding, lol. I would imagine you would know exactly what I mean then! So...yep treasure that little angel of a kid while you can, lol. Actually, it's not ALL bad...they still have their precious moments :) ....Just a tiny bit less often :rolleyes:

Tracy: Good to hear from ya, girlie! And you better had come up w/a good reason for being MIA :p . How nice that ya'll can ride together. I like to ride, too, although I can't claim to be a freak like your DH, lol. Just recreational riding is fine for me. Hope your crying extravaganza is over for the month ;) , and don't feel bad, I had mine Sunday morning :rolleyes: DH just sat there :confused: , and after about an hour asked if I was having a mid-life crisis, or just PMSing :mad: :rolleyes:

Jeni: Yay! Finally someone that I won't feel so ashamed to admit my step woes in front of :eek: ! LOL Actually, the girls here have been very supportive & understanding of my lack :rolleyes: of stepping ability, and my ever increasing desire to launch that step outta here and get back to Kickboxing business as usual. :cool:

Wendy: You plan on Body Rockin any more this week? ;) LOL @ the numb mountain climbers! I'll bet you were, those are no joke. :eek: What's the M3 verdict? Still on hiatus, or has the M3 curse taken over :p ?

Katie: Hope your wrist gets better soon. Oh, and really?! HIS...are you just trying to kick a woman while she's down? :cool: Nice job squeezing those abs in before Wendy had to break out the whip again. ;)

Melanie: Wow! Nice job on the w/o's! Those are some goodies! If I remember correctly, I do remember Wendy saying that Disc 9 was that crazy :eek: one for her, too!

Autumn: Beautiful pic. (again :rolleyes: , lol ) I swear you look about 15 yrs younger than you claim, who are you trying to kid ;) WOW you're packing already! :eek: That really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?! I keep going to "shop" but end up looking for Father's Day stuff instead :rolleyes: . I'm gonna have to get it together soon. I gotta admit that I'm not looking forward to the dressing room either :confused: (guess we can't all be as lucky as Wendy, and have that actually work in our favor :p ) So, I was thinking of DD#2 (yours obviously, since I was blessed w/boys :confused: ) how are ya handling nursing her and such during the RT. Are you planning on skipping any of the classes or working nursing into the "breaks"? How old is she again?

Well, ladies I'll be back to complain...I mean report on step madness....

~~~Tiff~~~ :cool:
Good morning all! Today I did KPC. Love that one. It was supposed to be a STS day but I decided to follow DH and Nurse Autumn's advice and rest my wrist for another day. I'm dang determined to do STS legs tomorrow though! :)
Tracy: Yay you're back! No word from you in two days and I was starting to organize a search party! :p ;) I'm very glad to hear you had a great time at the rodeo. The 18" long deep fried corn dog sounds, um, interesting. :D Congrats on the new bike (well, for DH :) ). Riding bikes with your DH sounds like lots of fun - plus a great way to change up the cardio and "shock your body." ;) TTOM = ew! Hope you're feeling better soon!
Kristin: Great job with Disc 4. Yes those push-ups are crazy!! Wendy has hinted they make a return in Meso 2. I'm starting to get nervous!! I wish I could take credit for Wendy's nickname (Abs Nazi) but I can't. You're right though - having an abs nazi around has definitely forced me to work my abs more and I can tell a difference!
Kris: awww so sorry to hear about your ankle. What a bummer! Is it feeling any better today? Definitely rest and let it heal (maybe I should follow my own advice huh? :) ). What about doing MMA Boxing? Heck, you could even sit in a chair if needed! At least it will get your heart rate up a little bit! I'm sending healing thoughts your way!
Melanie: 4DS bootcamp AND HiiT 30/30? Ohhh girl you're good! :p Great job!!! Those STS leg workouts are killers for sure! I had DOMS after every single leg workout. I'm just impressed you could bang out those cardio workouts with sore legs. I always schedule leg day right before my rest day because my legs are so sore walking is difficult. I'm such a wimp! :eek: :0 For my first rest week I did (i) easier cardio (MMA Boxing, C/W, LIC, etc.), (ii) yoga, and (iii) abs. I still worked out my usual 6 days per week, but lots of people cut it back a day or two. For my second rest week coming up soon i'm going to be on vacation so i'm going to do more outside/non-traditional (for me) workouts - walks, biking, kayaking, swimming, etc. I'm still going to keep up with my yoga and abs as well. HTH!
Kiki: When I was yapping about how much I like HIS I was also thinking "Kiki is going to kill me for saying all this." LOL! :p You're going to have a BLAST doing Step Blast! :D I love the functional core premix from CCC. It is my go to abs workout because I enjoy the non-traditional moves and, even modifying over half of them I feel it!
Well chick-a-roos i'm going to be attending the annual Kentucky Bar Convention the next 3 days so my check-ins may be sporadic. Hopefully i'll be able to pop in soon!
Katie
Good Morning.
This morning I put on my KiKi costume :p;):D and got to learning 4 DS HIS step. Platform only. No risers. No blasts. No challenge. Strictly the combos only. (about 20 mins) After that I did 4 mins of assorted planks that looked like this:
30 sec prone elbow plank
30 secs with leg raised
30 secs other leg raised
30 secs plank push ups
30 secs side plank
30 secs side hip lifts
30 secs other side plank
30 secs side hip lifts
And last but not least I did the STS Extended Stretch. :)
It was a take it ez kinda day due to pretty crazy leg DOMS + a new killer Body Rock work out hangin' over my head for tmrw morning!:eek:
Kiki:: You were right girl! BR is on the menu for the morning! YUM! LOL I've done 2 M3 work outs so far and enjoyed them. The next one is on tap for Friday and then week 1 will be complete! :) How'd you do with SB this time around? Combo 3 is the trickiest and took me a while to learn. I don't do that work out often these days so I will still get tripped up when it gets to that point.
Melanie:: Um, hate to be the bearer of bad news girl but Disc 9 is the DEVIL CHILD of M1 legs!!!! I found that disc to give me the all out worst DOMS of all of the M1 leg work outs!:eek: Great work out! Pairing 4DS BC with HiiT is brave! Good job! I will have to try it some day! Hats off to ya! ;)
Kris:: Smart move resting the ankle. Hope it feels better fast! My weigh in this morning made me smile even though it's not official! Hoping it's the sign of a loss for the week!;)
Kristin:: See!? I told ya all of the pain and suffering of working abs more often would be worth it! :D Good for you!!!! Maybe we'll be able to start calling you Ab Nazi Jr. soon! :p
Tracy:: After I read your post I immediately went back and check out Zuzanna's pics from a couple years ago as compared to now. Um...gained weight? :confused: Not a chance! Not IMO anyway. If ANYTHING she may have put on a little muscle but that's it. That girl's figure was and is phenominal!!!!:eek: So I have a BR work out on tap for tmrw! Care to join me?;)
Jen:: Check out Body Rock yet? Wanna join me tmrw in work out? :D
Autumn:: An erotic model as in posing for Playboy, etc? Well it makes no difference to me TBH! IMO, if that's what you want to do to make $ and you have the body to do it? Go for it! It's not like she was porn star or a hooker or something! Actually even if she was...oh well! Her choice, not mine! I'll STILL do her work outs! :p
Katie:: So you narrowly escaped the wrath of the AB Nazi ey? Good job! Better watch it though cause I apparently have an apprentice now (Kristin) so there will be 2 of us on the job! :D So my attempt at HIS today wasn't a TOTAL disaster. I am closer then ever to "getting" combo 3! I think if I keep at it and do it as an add on a lot in short time that I will finally have victory over HIS! :D:D:D Ofcourse, there are still the blasts to contend with b/c IIRC they were a tad tricky too but combo 3 was worse I think. The whole work out just makes my brain smoke! :confused::eek::confused: LOL
ETA-For anyone who is interested/curious...here is a link to the Body Rock w/o I intend to try tmrw. Wish me luck!:eek:
Hi all...another crazy busy day and hardly anytime for a crying jag!:eek::p:confused: My DD just said, "maawwwmmm....you only have 20 mins. to get ready!" it's so nice having a personal um...nag. :(:eek:
Melanie: good going with Bootcamp...I have had legs DOMS from STS for days girlie!
Fitmommy: ok, but I am telling you her tummy looks more cut to me in other pics...oh well. We won't go to the mattresses over it :p I am trying to prepare myself to do a Body Rock and when it will fit in with both my workout sensibilities (oh brother) and my mental um...health and ok...cut the cr@P when I am not scart to death :eek:
kiki: ROFL for DH just looking at you when you were crying:confused:. I really do think it is hard on them cause they so want us to be happy. That's about all they can do. Just tell him that I had my own crying melt down at 5 in the morning and then he won't think you are so ....whatever?
Today I did IMAX 2 just cuz I didn't wanna think and busy...got to run and hit the shower. I will try to BBL but it will be LATAH!
OMG I don't know why but I am feeling like such a zombie right now! Sooooo sleepy! I could just do a total face-plant into my keyboard right NOW and start snoring! I swear! :eek: So I went outside for a little "vitamin D" after lunch. I knew it would help to perk me up and wouldn't ya know it-no sun to be found! :rolleyes: And even worse...IT WAS RAINING!!!!!!!!:mad: GRRRR. So I stood where it was dry and watched the raindrops fall for 7.5 minutes HOPING it would help but nope...I almost fell asleep standing up instead so I gave up and came back inside!:confused::p
Tracy:: Zuzana's abs could be completely "cut-less" and I'd still want her body :p cause her belly would still be completely flat and THAT is an awesome thing!!! :D;) So did you actually check out the specific work out I plan to do tmrw? Is that what scared you cause you could always pick out your own instead! You don't have to do the same one as me! I'll be nice and let you choose your own pathway to your demise if you prefer! Heheh. :cool:
Wendy: I feel you girl! Same crazy tiredness over here. We don't have rain, but it's so nice out ( 70s, partly cloudy - that I just wanna go outside....and sleep! Rofl) :p
Kiki, Fit_mommy, Tracy & DirtDiva- thank you for inviting me to your check-in. STS just arrived in the mail today!
I spent today doing the 1repMax. I went a little lighter than I thought I needed to start- do I have to do that to the point of fatigue- hurting myself? I figured I would err on the side of lighter- I'm sure it will pay off when I do the workouts themselves. I also didn't do every exercise- for example bicep curls seated, standing, on a ball etc- I put the same weight & reps. What do you think?
My schedule this week is Spinning class Mon, Wed, Friday at the Y, then again next week with STS starting next Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.
It is a bit daunting placing it in the Workout Manager schedule- especially since it puts it out till mid September- that is quite a commitment! What have I got to lose?
Looking forward to some strength gains and lose inches & pounds.
Thanks
Bridget
Welcome to our check-in, Bridget!
Hope you enjoy your stay!:)
We were once a small group but seem to be growing larger by the day and that's just fine with us! Be warned though- we can be a wacky bunch!:eek: Don't be scared though. Our bark is worse then our bite!;) We are harmless at heart! :p We just like to laugh, is all. :)
