STS New Years Challengers...Week of April 3rd!

Did my leg workout this AM and no adverse affects so far, back feels ok, so we'll see :). Hope it stays that way. If not, I got in all my major workouts for the week, so I don't mind takin it easy and gettin a bit more rest over the weekend. I don't workout on Saturdays anyway, & Sunday is usually some kinda active recovery day (usually light cardio - elliptical- & stretching).

Good job Sherry & Wendy on gettin in those early AM workouts, I think that show SO much dedication. I wanna be like y'all when I grow up ;)

Sneakin' in while everyone is distracted :p
Y'day was supposed to be Disc 18, but my li'l Princess was very demanding. I think she had a cold or some other virus thingy, but she seems better today.:) I can't believe she will be 5 months old in one week. Since I couldn't do my scheduled workout, I put her in the floor and did a cardio from bodyrock.tv She could see me and when I was in the floor with her she was very happy. :D Wednesday I took another walk in the nice weather... and really got my eyes and nose inflamme but it was nice to get out.

Sherry ~ I wish I could get in the habit of a.m. workouts. Right now, I am too busy looking at DD's baby face (she sleeps next to me... breastfeeding and co-sleeping make a good thing). It was too hot Sunday, lol. I can see why you would melt. ;) It looks like the 80s are headed our way next week... I prefer the 70s but Mother Nature and I rarely agree on the weather she has selected.

LaDonna ~ I am going to have to try Circuit Blast... so many videos and so little time these days :). Dont' you love those days with no running? Today is that day for me too.

Kiki ~ Can you believe Disney is so close??? I am so excited. I wish my excitement would melt fat. :p

Kristin ~ I'm thinking I will not use the plyo legs... I'm betting me knees won't like it. I bought the weighted vest and plan to use the alternate leg workouts. I can do Insanity though... maybe the plyo legs is doable?

Ok, I should sneak away to get my workout done... hope to BBL with my workout...

ETA: Disc 18 check!!! Plus TBM abs. :)

Autumn:: you did abs today! good job! :p

Kiki:: my up before the birds (and chickens lol) workout is a matter of circumstance. if it didn't get done at 5am during the week then it wouldn't get done at all. :( on weekends though I do NOT get up to exercise at 5am. TRUST ME! :p

Sherry:: I sure did see you at the gym this morning! :D Isn't a morning work out the best? Now it's off your plate for the day! Great feeling. I hear ya on the couch potato. I prefer a happy medium myself. Too much on my plate and I start to feel overwhelmed and aggravated.

Hi LaDonna and Kristin. Hope all is well with both of you. :)

If anyone is interested, Insanity's Asylum was released today and is available for order.

Today was MMA Kickboxing. Tomorrow will be Step Moves.

Sherry - Yea, time to take care of your needs. It's amazing how we instinctively put ourselves at the bottom of the priority list.

Autumn - I'm glad your little Princess is feeling better. :-D

Waving to FitMommy, Kristin, and Kikster!

Off to bathe three dogs.

Have a good weekend everyone!

LaDonna

Good Morning Girls.

Busy weekend ahead....

I need to hit Sports Authority. I want to replace the few sets of neoprene DB's I own with cast iron ones ;)-I want to buy place weights and they won't be very useful if I can't use them with these particular DB's. Thankfully they are lighter ones at 5, 10 and 12 pounds so it shouldn't cost me my life savings to buy them!

I need to hit the food store for weekly shopping + ingredients for the YTB determined new recipe of the week that I will cook this weekend!:)

Promised DS I'd take him to see HOP in the movie theater.:D

The house needs to be picked up desperately and the laundry is starting to pile up!

Work out on tap for today is STS M2 W2 D17(legs) for sure. HOPEFULLY abs and MAYBE cardio IF I have the energy/time for it!

BBL or tmrw!

Morning.

It's just lovely to be up before 6am on a Sunday when you don't have to be.

Got D17 done plus planks but no cardio. I actually wanted to do it but really didn't have the time. I did, however, squeeze in the Extended Stretch. I'm trying to stretch more these days whenever I can...

Today will be D18 + cardio and abs.

Taking DS to the movies this afternoon to see HOP and then foodshopping for the week plus ingredients for tonight's dinner selection. ;)

Hope everyone is well!

Hi all! Finished STS Yesterday! I feel great. I loved the workouts and loved the structure of it, not having to think about what weight workout to do. I got great results in my upper body, some toning in my lower body, my stomach could be flatter, but my eating was not clean, especially this last month. Still, wnet bathing suit shopping and bought a cute bikini and I did it all without crying, lol. I am definitely happy with the results. I think I would like to try the squat rack option, maybe with the weighted vest because I just don't think I have to room for the squat rack in my tiny home.

Autumn- plyo legs is doable I think because the plyo bursts are for 30-60 seconds at a clip, and they are slow plyo movements. If you can do Intensity or IMAX 2, you can do plyo legs I think. My favorite leg workouts from STS are still the trisets in Meso 2.

Sherry- so ready for the beach in Florida.

Wendy- I am here, it has just been crazy. didn't think tee-ball would be this time-consuming, plus grades are due this week, so I need to get them done and pack and get the tee-ball stuff together. NUTSO!

LaDonna- SM is such a great workout. I love the song in the second combo.

BBL,
Kristin

D18, Ab Circuits Weights n Plates-plates only and the first 30 mins of Step Moves....DONE!:D

Kristin:: DONE WITH STS! WOOT WOOT! So now what will you do? ;) Congrats on a successful bathing suit shopping trip w/o crying! :D My 2 from last season are still in like new shape so I'll be trying them on. As long as they still look/fit okay then I probably won't put myself through that this year. :p When do you leave for FLA and how long will you be gone for? ENJOY!

Hi everyone!

Beautiful day outside today. Perfect to get out and do things, but yesterday I started getting a cold with cough. Very much want to get out and about, but anytime I start doing something a bit more vigorous, I start a hacking frenzy. Very frustrating! Want to be out running in the fresh air!

We've been trying to get DD moving a bit more and decreasing meds. Still trying to find a good balance. Wanted to see how she did on a run today. Tomorrow is back to school for the first time in 2 weeks so we'll see how she does.

Kristin - Yeah! Enjoy your trip!

Wendy - Good job gettin' it done this morning, as usual!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their day.

Back from the movie and food shopping. Movie was really cute :D and food shopping was...well....food shopping....'Nuff said. Now that everything is unpacked and I've eaten a little something (besides the popcorn and soda I had for "lunch" at the movies ), I am ready for a nap!

This is what I'm makin' for dinner tonight...sounds like it's right up my alley...and my kid's too! :D

http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/chicken-broccoli-casserole-10000001097034

Can't wait to start cookin' but it's a bit early yet...Oh well, guess I'll just hafta' nap to pass time! ;)

Sherry:: I thought it was supposed to be in the 70's here today and was a bit depressed about spending it in the theater and the foodstore but from the little I was outside, it wasn't so nice. I guess the weatherman was wrong...AGAIN! Glad to hear that your DD is regaining some normalcy finally. Back to school after 2 weeks. Wow. How tough will it be for her to catch up or has she been doing some of the work while she's been home? All the best to her. Poor kid-feel bad that she had to endure all of that. Can't imagine...

Ok, my bed is callin' to me :) so have a great evening and and I'll be back tmrw!

Quick evening check in to report I did Low Max intevals 1-4 premix and then the ab work from BM2. Buckets of sweat. . . nothing like switching it up! ;) This week my goal is to do cardio every day and ab work. Just to get totally bathing suit ready. We are leaving for Florida Thursday after work! We are driving. Wish me luck, lol.

Kristin

Morning.

No GOOD in there today because I didn't fall asleep until just after midnight last night. Today is my scheduled rest day though, TG, so I was able to sleep in a bit. Not enough but better then nothing.

Had a pretty busy weekend. Can't believe it's already Monday again. :(

Took my DS to see the movie HOP y'day. Very cute. :)

Dinner was yummy last night but my nap lasted too long so I felt drugged when I got up. :( By the time my head was clear enough to start cooking it was later then intended. Dinner took about 2 hours to get on the table so we didn't eat until 7ish. I prefer to eat earlier but I guess it could have been worse. Atleast it was good and I get to take leftovers for lunch today!:)

Kristin:: Oh you lucky girl! Have fun on vacation! I love your cardio and abs plan for this week! Great idea! Will you exercise at all while you are away? How will your t ball team get along w/o you? ;):)

Have a good day ladies.

Good Morning Ladies!

Didn't do much vigorous exercising over the weekend. But I kept my eating in check, and managed a 40 min "stroll" on the elliptical Sat. nite. It wasn't much of a workout, I was just keeping DH company while he worked out. It's so funny how it turns into a whole family event when he's down there, because he keeps talking to me until I come down there and just sit w/him the whole time , and then DS eventually wanders down there and starts doin random things (pullups, pushups, barbell curls, even jumped on the elliptical as soon as I got off, lol) - something about seeing Daddy workout motivates him to do the same. Plus, he's at that age where his "muscles" are starting to show , and enjoys flexing in front of a mirror whenever the opportunity presents itself (we have a wall mirror in our "gym"). And of course, not wanting to be left out, the pups soon follow..

I also did some yard work yesterday, DH came home last week w/a dump trailer full of mulch, that has been sitting in a mountain of a heap in the front yard ever since. Since my back hasn't been causing me problems we went ahead and began tackling it. ;)

Kristin: How exciting about your trip! I will be taking a trip to PHX about a week or two after I finish STS too! I didn't even plan it that way, but that's how it worked out. I plan to do the same as you, go crazy on the cardio and abs, and SUPER clean eating, to tackle any finishing touches before heading out. Let us know how it goes! Congrats again on finishing.

Wendy: Glad you and your boy got to spend some quality time yesterday! Too bad about the crazy sleep/non-sleep/nap sessions. I hate it when I really need a nap, and then I sleep too long! The whole day takes a different turn, and I usually end up w/a groggy headache :(

Sherry: I hope your DD does well in school today, is she happy to be back? I hope that cough isn't nagging you as much today. I don't know what the weather's like over there in the midwest, but on the East Coast, it's supposed to be like 85! I'm definitely getting outside today (it may only be to run errands, but at least I won't be all bundled up doing them...;))

Autumn: It's almost here!!!!! Time to tighten up the eating one more notch, lol. I'm sure that's easier said than done when you're nursing though, huh? The hardest part for me is that my DH just booked a trip for us to go see some family in PHX like the month (exactly 4 wks!) before Disney. My vacations are usually when I relax a bit on my eating, and have more leisure workouts, but now, what'll I do?! I don't wanna go and undo everything I've worked so hard for, but I do wanna enjoy myself, and my fam! IDK, the hard choices, we women must make, lol :p "to eat or not to eat"

LaDonna: Back at it this week? ;) How'd you enjoy that rest week? Seems like you had some good, fun workouts thrown in there.

Have a good Monday, all! (Is that even possible, lol? :) )

Hi Everyone!

I started Mesocycle 3 today with Disc 25. I am surprised with how fast the workout goes given the length and repetition. Tomorrow will be Cardio Core Circuit. I'm going to to the squat rack legs with my weighted vest. I think it works pretty well.

Kristin - Combo 2 is my favorite combo in the workout. Combo 3 is my least favorite. I cannot get the coordination down for the run across the step.

Kikster - Wasn't much of a rest week. ;-) I loved it, though.

I hope everyone has a great day today. If the weather holds up, we will be planting corn at the end of the week.

LaDonna

Hi all! Here to report that tonight's workout was 4 DS HIS step only premix and no equip abs from ab circuits. Practice went really well. The team is coming together. Although, some of them did not realize at the end that they were all on the same team, lol.

LaDonna- I was surprised by how fast the workout seems to go in Meso 3 as well. It was a pleasant surprise, lol.

Kiki- too cute about DS. How old is he. It can be family workout time ;)

Wendy- I plan on taking travel fit with me and the place has a gym with free weights, Thank God! I usually workout while I am away. I am a little nutso about getting in at least 4 workouts a week, even on vacay, lol. Plus, I feel less guilty eating out a lot and eating dirty :D:eek: I have two assistant coaches that are going to take over for me for Saturday's game and then the next game is when we are back, so it all worked out!

Night all!
Kristin

Yesterday was Disc 28 for me, and today will be some cardio and abs (or maybe a good kickbox workout). I still have Kickmax from the library, so I'm thinking I may do that one again before I have to return it, although, I have some new stuff that is pretty tempting as well. I'm thinking of downloading a few of the shock cardio's before the sale ends. What do you guys recommend? I have Cardio Core Circuit (bought that one because I wanted the premixes), and Athletic Step (which I have yet to even attempt, lol). I'm thinking along the lines of one of the MMA's, ya'll know that that me and Step don't really get along that much, lol. Which one is your fave?

Kristin: My son is 13, it's such a crazy age, you know? He's sittin in my lap one minute, and downstairs flexing, and pumping weights (w/his new deep voice ;) ) the next. You never quite know what mood is coming next. Like this Disney trip for instance, I didn't know what his reaction would be, ("I'm too old for that, mom!") but he's been asking me like every other day, "When's Disney?!" :) ....As for your trip, good action plan for keepin the workouts up. I'm the same way, I'll still workout during my vacations, but I cannot say that I use the same restraint/control w/the eating! ROFL

Hey ladies!!!! Disc 19 complete. Y'day I did cardio with my kbells. Oh, and I've done ab both days. :D Unfortunately, I have a twinge in my low back... it started bothering me over the weekend. I've been moving boxes and spring cleaning and think that's when I hurt it. I see my chiro this week and will talk to her. I'm not sure what I'll do until my "twinge" goes away. Ok, honestly, I'll try to continue STS but I will really listen to my body. I can't paly at Disney with an injured back.

Kiki ~ LOL, yes, time to tighten up my eating for sure. My fat cells are sooo stingy. Why don't they listen to the fat melting stories about breastfeeding? ;) Ooh, I'd probably enjoy my trip to PHX. It ain't easy being a woman. I am married to a man with a supercharged, high-efficiency metabolism too. He can eat anything.

Have a totally tubular Tuesday!!!

Hey ladies.

Another not so good night's sleep last night. Got up to work out anyway though. I did Power Squeeze (30min f/b w/o including abs) from the original Squeeze DVD plus the w/u and first 7 blasts only from IMAX3. The cardio killed me today. Probably because I'm so tired from 2 bad nights. :(

Okay, I'm gonna try to catch up on personals here. Forgive me if I miss somebody.

Autumn:: Abs 2 days in a row! YAY! Disney. So many people I know are going this year including me! Can't wait! :D

Kiki:: I went to Disney with my family when I was around your son's age. I was not too old for it. Had a blast! :D

Kristin:: Nice job with HIS cardio. That's the one Cathe step work out that I can't "get" yet. I tried to learn it but got totally stuck at a certain point and eventually go so frustrated that I just completely gave up. Maybe some day I'll have the patience to try again. Travel Fit is a nice option to have especially for the band work if you don't have weights available to you but I see that you will! Lucky girl! ;)

LaDonna:: Enjoy M3. I haven't decided if I will do Plyo Legs or Squat Rack Legs with that yet. Things that make ya go HMMM. :p

Sherry:: Come out come out wherever you are!:)

Good Morning Ladies!

Yesterday I ended up doing Kick Max again. Today will be disc 30, I'm ready for a good arm workout. I'm switched my arm/leg workouts around for the remainder of this Meso. I typically do my last weight workout of the week on Friday, which is also a major "running the kid around the town day" , and I'm typically am out the door pretty early that morning, and back in late enough that I don't wanna workout. So I try to schedule the shortest workout possible on that day, (and currently, that is leg day) and just knock it out early in the AM. Once STS is over, I'll rearrange my workout schedule back to doing cardio on Friday's again, as usual.

Wendy: Yeah, he's definitely not too old for it! Neither am I, lol. I went back when I was like 6, and can hardly remember a thing, so I'm ready! :D (BTW, hope you're getting some better sleep these days. I know the toll it takes on our bodies when we hit the workouts hard, but not the sleep :( ...)

Autumn: Look at you! Hittin the abs hard ;). Maybe I'll just have to live vicariously through you, until I can whip my butt into gear over here  . I think I'll actually get in a lot more ab work once STS is done, because then most of the workouts I'm doing will have an ab section on them already, and it won't be so much of an afterthought.... Be careful w/that back, though, I just finished babying mine, hoping I haven't done any real harm  , let us know what your chiro says.

Sherry:  Hope the fam is doing ok, and that you're able to fit some workouts into the hustle and bustle of life...:)

Good Afternoon.

Today was Cardio Kicks wearing weighted gloves and 2 of the 3 ab segments of Barry Boot Camp Shoulders and Back.

Kiki:: Sometimes ya gotta make it work with your schedule! I usually try to do 2 out of the 3 STS work outs on the weekend since they are long and if I want to add in cardio I definitely need the extra time on the weekends to do that.

Guess that's all for now...Be back tmrw!
