STS New Years Challengers...Week of April 3rd!

Good morning all! I cannot believe we are in the first week of April. Last night I completed AS and Med Ball Abs. I love how cardio gets me such a good sweat. I don't sweat nearly as much when lifting. This week is my last week of STS!!!! Not sure if I will take today as a rest day because after work we have tee ball practice for the first time. I have a feeling I might be quite exhausted after the practice, lol ;).

What are you all up to?

Kristin

Good Morning Kristin (and all who follow)! Surprised to see someone here so early this morning! :) Hope you have a good practice tonight, oh brave one! :D;)

This morning I did Booty Barre Lower Body only.

I wanted to do abs and cardio this morning as well but I slept in. I was exhausted even though I took 2 naps y'day!

Y'day was an unscheduled rest day due to having a bit TOO good of a time on Saturday night.

Running late-gotta pack lunches in a hurry!

BBL!

Today was the beginning of my recovery week. I celebrated with Circuit Blast. ;-) I really love that workout.

I am so excited about Cathe's announcement! I wonder if she is going to have a presale. I personally am hoping for another LIC and LoMax.

Well, I'm off to take my DD to dance. We get her costumes today! Yipee!

Have a good evening, everyone!

LaDonna

Hi all!

Been MIA because we decided that DD was feeling good enough to head out of town to my dad's 70th birthday party. She had been feeling so bad that we might miss it because of her. Overall she did great, although some of the party was loud and just too much, so she stepped out for a bit. Really glad that we did go.

That said, I think I gained about 5 pounds! Need to get back in the swing of things - working out and eating a lot cleaner. Plan to do that tomorrow.

See you all then!

Good Morning.

Today's work out plan is for Intensity (as much as I have time for) + an ab circuits work outs. I still have to try pilates based and weights and plate so I want to do one of them today. :)

Sherry:: So how long til your DD fully recovers? Sounds like an awful ordeal for her. Has she been able to go to school even? :( Glad you had fun at the party. Sorry about the weight gain. You haven't been "off the wagon" that long. I'm sure once you get back on, the weight will fall off! :)

BBL~

Hi, Ladies!

Today I did MMA Kickboxing. Fun workout.

Sherry - I'm glad to hear that you were able to go to the party. I hope DD gets to feeling 100% soon.

FitMommy - Thanks for the info. Whatever you find out, please post. I don't get on the boards very often.

It must be spring. I feel like my kids' schedules are really picking up, so mom's taxi is up and running.

Have a good evening, everyone!

LaDonna

Sorry I've been MIA, but I haven't been slacking. :) I did Disc 17 plus pull-up challenge plus TBM abs today. I did slack y'day... my allergies were just ridiculous & I felt awful... that's b/c I spent too much time outside on Sunday.. but I enjoyed a great walk outdoors on Sunday. Anyway, I'm back to my workouts.

I'm excited about the new workouts... my knees are really happy about them too. :)

LaDonna ~ I really enjoy the MMA kickboxing too. I'm not crazy about the fusion... too much thinking & my mind just can't do much of that. ;)

Wendy ~ Do you like Intensity? I ordered it and the other new DVDs when Cathe had the fantastic deals last month... maybe there are still fantastic deals... but anyhoo, my Cathe DVD collection remains complete.

Sherry ~ I hope DD is well ASAP but glad you were able to attend the party. I bet Wendy is right... the weight will come right off.

Ok, need to try to get caught up here, on emails, etc.

Hey ladies! Been MIA, took the last couple days (Sat/Sun) of my rest week to actually "rest". Yesterday, kicked off Meso 3 w/disc 25. It was a little scary doing it, because I still felt a little tinge in my back. Not really pain, but weird, maybe strained? Idk if I used improper form on one of the core exercises, or what's going on, but I did make it through the Chest & Back workout ok. I took it as easy as possible (being in Meso 3, not really easy to do, lol) and just used the same weights that I used the first time I started Meso 3, instead of going up. Today was Low Max, step combo's premix. My first time doing that one, it was pretty fun, I planned on doing the "all abs" section of CTX, but my back just wasn't feelin it, so I figured I'd just get out while I could.

I'm w/LaDonna and Autumn-, I'm ready for that pre-sale. I like having the variety, and being able to do higher intensity workouts, but don't wanna mess up a good thing. So I like to alternate the intensity of my workouts, and I throw Lower impact stuff in often. That's why I never really got into doing step before. So many people I knew that were die hard steppers always ended up w/joint issues. I've been pretty faithful to the elliptical, and kickboxing for my cardio, over the years. Kickboxing is my absolute first love, because I LOVE what it does for my arms/core. I have very "soft" looking arms, and kickboxing helps me see definition in my arms more than any other weights/cardio combo. It's also the only way that I've been able to ward off doing ab work for so long, lol, because I really focus on my core while doing all that kicking, punching, & twisting.

Hope everyone's having a good day!

I actually got up and did a workout this morning! Basic Step, but that was enough for me today at this hour.

Be back later to catch up on personals and such.

Ok, finally got a chance to catch up.

Starting with this week is Spring Break for the kids, which was very needed. DS was getting the workload piled on, and was an absolute bear with it. Doean't help that he's a teenager, too. LOL! DD's headaches are going away, with only a small one on the morning and good the rest of the day (Thanks for all your well wishes). Told her it's now time to start catching up on homework from the missed week of school last week. She's so tired of doing nothing and anxious to get out and about. We're going to try some vigorous walking today to see how her head feels, and if good, keep stepping it up from there.

The weekend with the family was great. Dad was surprised with the party. Nearly everyone was there – family and friends. He joked that this was his attendance prize for waking up every day for 70 years. We ate way too much – St. Louis style pizza, toasted ravioli, Steak 'n Shake fries, birthday cake. Dad wanted to be sure to have a cake when we were there, didn't know there was another one for the party. He and mom also made cookies. Homemade are always the best. Now gotta start downloading all the photos. I think there's about 250 on my camera!

Took advantage of the kid's being off (and hence not getting them out the door) to get in a cardio workout this morning. Decision was easy right after I got on the scale and saw I did indeed gain about 4 #'s over the week (between the trip and stress over DD's head last week). Who knows, maybe I'll actually start a new habit. I know BS so well that I'm on autopilot when I do it. Looking forward to getting rolling with Meso 3 this week and also starting to pick up the running (outside, still no treadmill but also no ice or snow!). High school has already started track, and middle school starts next week, so gotta keep up with the kids.

However, my uncle who lives here in town went back in the hospital last night, so there might be some running around the next few days checking on him and helping my aunt out. They didn't go out of town to the party (my aunt is my dad's sister) because they were considered about his heart, which is exactly why he's back in.

Wendy – Can't believe all you did this a.m., and in only an hour?

Kristin – You are so close to the end of the rotation! Make every rep count!

LaDonna – Looks like you are enjoying your "active" rest week.

Autumn – The weather Sunday in St. Louis just about melted us MI folk! Kids love to visit, but in summer it's only because they have easy access to a pool.

Kiki – starting meso 3 with you, though I a few days behind. Yeah, can't really go "light" in this phase. I'll let you know how it goes for me. I totally agree with kickboxing. I love how the legs feel with the workout. Must be a bit reminiscent of my dancing days.

I think that gets me caught up. Now back to work. Hopefully back tonight to report my workout.

Hi Ladies!

Today I did Step Moves. I really love that workout. I know what you mean, Kikster. I have been an avid stepper and my left knee feel the effect of that from misstepping and twisting my ankle. My ankle was all better within 48 hours but then my knee started hurting and has never been 100%. Anyway, I am really looking forward to these workouts.

Sherry - Yea, spring break! Enjoy!

Today my DD has choir practice, so I'm off to take her there. Have a great evening, everyone.

LaDonna

OK, today was supposed to be legs, but I switched in the arm workout - disc 27 (which was planned for Fri) in order to workout, but still give the back a bit of a rest. I'll do legs on Fri, hopefully. My back felt better today, but I didn't wanna chance it, because it's still not 100%, and just trying to keep the core tight during the arm workout was enough pressure on it, I think.

Sherry - good to see you back in action, again! I always start w/BS when I've been outta commission for a while, too, lol. A few more of those early AM cardio's, and you should be back in business. Thank God for Spring Break! (oh, and I SO feel you on the teen boy thing! Sheesh!)

LaDonna - so any big workout plans for your "rest" week? Just don't go and mess it all up like I did w/ this back thing! :(

Have a good night, all!

Hi all! D35 done, plyo legs! THis mesocycle with the plyo legs is a killer. My legs are shaking right now as I type, lol. One more disc to go and I will officially be done with STS for the first time, woo hoo!

It has been a crazy week. I am counting down the days until next Thursday. We are dirivng to Florida!!!! Cannot wait to get in the sun and see Mickey, of course, lol. My boys are very excited.

LaDonna- Step Moves is an awesome workout. I love the song during the second combo. I am looking Cannot wait to hear what it will specifically include.

Sherry- Sounds like you had quite a week. That is grea tabout your dad's b-day.

Kiki- how do you like Meso 3? I think all of STS is great, but Meso 2 is by far my favorite. I almost want to just go back and do Meso 2 by itself after Meso 3.

Autumn- you will love Intensity. The music is the best!!!

Wendy- How's everything going? How are you liking Meso 2? Had you ever done Meso 2 before?

Kristin

Good Morning.

I don't think I checked in with my w/o y'day. I did Booty Barre upper body, Insanity PCC (partial w/u and then w/o thru 1st round of 2nd set of intervals), Intensity HiiT Lo and Booty Barre abs/flexibility.

This morning was Drillmax Timesaver cardio premix + weights only from weights and plates ab circuits + the seated portion of No Equipment Stretchmax. The abs were tough! Toughest out of the bunch IMO and I didn't even do the plate part of it!

Kristin:: That's awesome that you will be heading to FLA soon after you complete STS. Did you plan it that way? I am loving M2. Nope, never done it before! First time I tried STS I got through 3 weeks of M1 (3 month rotation) and then quit. This is my second time trying and luckily I am succeeding this time! :D

Kiki:: Sorry your back is still bothering you. I hope you feel better soon!!!!

Sherry:: You never stop! You remind me of another check in buddy I have. I get tired just reading her posts!:p Yeah, you'd be surprised what you can pack into an hour when you mish-mosh! LOL

Autumn:: Intensity is awesome. Wether you do it in full as produced, a premix or do your own thing, it's fantastic anyway you slice it...and you can slice it lots o' ways! LOL :D

LaDonna:: Sure, I'll post the new series updates as I come across them.

Kristin! (Early) Congrats on finishing the program! Don't you feel like you can conquer the world, now?! I say, if you love Meso 2, go for it again! (No better time to test our theory, eh? ;) ) I must say that I got some pretty nice results from it too. Like I said before, I never see it until a couple weeks after, so I'm starting to see some nice little areas popping on my arms. Even my hubby is like, "Man, I need to start STS! :p " I'm pretty sure it's all talk, though. He's been mumbling something bout Meso 1 ever since I first did STS last fall! LOL. He just doesn't really stick w/stuff, KWIM? But seeing my results always makes him WANT to :p . (He works a very labor intensive job, though, so it's quite easy for him to stay in shape, he just wants more muscular definition, I guess.) He always says, "if I had your muscles 'per capita' I'd be straight!" ROFL! He's such a dork!

I actually really love Meso 3, but I am very short and bulk VERY easily, so I can't stay in it for as long as I'd like. It took me a LONG time before I figured that out, lol, because I just loved lifting heavy, so I kept doing it. At first it was great because I'd been a cardio junkie, and needed some muscle to firm things up, but then I became strength junkie, lol. I kept wondering how I could be so strong, and still look so...round! LOL. Kinda like powerlifters, I realized that for the look I want, I needed variety. Everything in moderation, right

That being said, Meso 2 really is the best of both worlds for me...

ETA: finished today's workout - 4DS Kickbox cardio premix & abs from the Kickbox segment

Hi Ladies!

Today I did Circuit Blast again. I really love that workout too. I like playing with my toys.

Today is a good day. I actually get to stay home! Yea, I don't have anywhere that I need to run the kids. Problem is now I have no excuse to catch up on my chores. LOL

Kikster - I'll be careful. I know what you mean though. I don't want to overdo it. I am one of those "weird" people that really love to workout. DH doesn't understand it. ;-)

Kristin - I'm jealous. Have fun at Disney World!!!

Have a great day, everyone!

LaDonna

Yeah! WO done already! 4DS Kickbox Cardio only.

DD almost caught up with schoolwork. Uncle home from hospital. Photos from weekend distributed appropriately. Taken care of everyone else, so now to get back to my own needs.

Ladonna - Gotta love those days when you don't need to shuttle kids around!

Kiki - How's your back?

Kristin - This is it for you! Finishing a whole round of STS! How do those arms look now? Ready for the beach in Florida?

Wendy - Did you "see" me waving to you at the gym this a.m.? Yes, sometimes I think we do too much, but it's a lot better than being a couch potato!

Enjoy your day!
