STS in the UK?

Hi all

Well I'm eagerly awaiting my delivery. But I'm in the UK so I won't expect it until say three weeks time. The customs here are a pain and I dread to think what the customs charge will be. So you're a lucky lot in the US for getting yours so quickly.

Anybody else waiting in the uk.

STS UK

Hi Josie

Yes I've just downloaded the STS Rotation starting Sunday 1st March as it should be here by then. Goodness knows what the customs charge will be I just don't want to think about it. DH bought STS for me as a fortieth birthday pressie last year. I've asked him to pay the customs charge for this years birthday gift lol. I might just start Cathes Rock bottom rotation while I'm waiting.

I bought STS when the £ was a lot stronger against the $ so it seemed like a good bargain at the time! My bf will go mental when he sees I've ordered yet another workout dvd(s!) - and I will have to keep quiet about the customs charges too!

I think I am going to wait a couple of months before I take the plunge - I've had a Cathe hiatus for far too long and have only just gotten back into it recently. I'm seeing results already and next week I have a week of snowboarding in Switzerland which will help my lower body strength - so hopefully it won't be long before I can do STS.

Have you planned any modifications for the pull-up tower/squat rack issue?

Oh how lovely you've got a holiday to look forward to! As for the pull up/ squat rack. I've got a pull up bar but no squat rack. I can't do a pull up so I might use bands initially. I want to get a weighted vest but I've got to wait a bit. I hope your hernia gets better soon. I also preordered STS when the £ was alot stronger than the dollar, so I suppose any savings we made will go on customs charge. Anyway we'll still have STS wont we and I've been really looking forward to it.

I know - I am SO looking forward to this holiday - Christmas seems like years ago already!

Oh no, I don't have a hernia (thankfully!), I just fell off the Cathe wagon a while back and put on lots of weight (ironically when I went to live in the States for 2 years - crikey, the portions sizes over there were HUGE!).

I don't have the room for a pull up bar unfortunately (she says, scanning the living room and seeing the step, swiss ball, large mat and all the weights all over the floor!) so I guess I am going to have to use bands as well. Where do you plan on getting a weighted vest from?

Hi Josie sorry it took me ages to get back to you. I've been looking on ebay for a weighted vest and also physicalcompany.co.uk as thats where I got my high step from, but I'm not sure yet. I'm trying to find a good deal for a 20lb vest. Any ideas?

I saw you post on videofitnessforum.

Well, it looks like there are some over here, but they all look rather masculine.

V-Max make a women's vest, but I can't see that you can buy them here.

Laura - if you get your STS in the next week or so, you'll have to preview and tell me what you think of it...I'm off for a week of snowboarding in Switzerland later today (yay!) so by for now!

Hey Laura - just wondering if you managed to locate a decent weighted vest yet? I just got back from my snowboarding holiday in Switzerland and am still waiting for STS to arrive (darn!), but thought I should start planning ahead on the necessary equipment now.

Hope you had a wonderful time in Switzerland. I've still not had STS. We should get it this week surely? I bought a weighted vest off ebay. Its a 20kg one but you can remove some of the bags, so I've lightened to 10kg. It was £70. If you type in weighted vest on ebay theres only one that weighted for £70. I think it was from martialartsdirect or something. But I bought it off them and it arrived superfast. I was very impressed. I tried it yesterday with 4 daysplit legs and I was sweating buckets.

Today I think I might do IMAX Extreme from the terminator dvd. I need some cardio.

We had a fab time thanks, although the 1900 mile round trip in the car to get there and back was a tad tedious at times! But, the snow and the scenery was magnificent! (and we also had a good laugh at how the UK had ground to a halt when it started snowing - the Swiss have had metres of the stuff and they seem to cope really well!). So I have today off work to try and recover a little and then in the next couple of days, I have to get back into my workouts to get rid of all the fondue and raclette cheese that I've been eating!

Thanks for the heads up on the weighted vest - I will certainly look into that.

I keep hoping the postman will knock on my door with my STS....it's got to arrive some time this week!

My STS will arrive tommorrow!!!

I received a letter from parcelforce to tell me I had to pay the customs before they deliver it. Wait for it.....£34.00 aaaghhh.

Well atleast it will be in my hands tommorrow.
 
£34? Crikey - that's a bit more than I expected! Oh well, I'm sure it will be worth it! I'm still anxiously waiting for Mr Postman to even bring me that bit of news!
 
Crikey £34 I haven't heard anything myself yet. So they are being delivered through Parcelforce? At least we know they are coming to the UK.

It came today Yeahhhhh

I have received my STS, I can't believe I haven't opened it yet. Will do later oh the excitement of it all. Now I better start shifting those pounds!!!

Congratulations Marcia have fun. I'm getting a bit fed up now. No letter, no STS no nothing. Sometimes wonder was it worth it?

Hi Josie

Letter from Parcelforce arrived today £34.48. I should receive it tomorrow. Thank goodness for that. Also I went and had a look at a local gym today as I was thinking of joining one for access to heavier weights. Nice gym but a few too many machines and no squat rack. I asked him why there was no squat rack and he said because too many people did not know how to use them correctly? My thinking was surely thats why your here, to teach people correct form?

Oh well it was more to get my husband to join. My DH hates exercise and he really needs to do it. Maybe I can get him motivated when STS arrives, who knows. Although I don't think so. Anyway Josie I hope you get your letter soon too.

Hi Laura - I just saw that you got your letter on another thread - I got mine today also and have arranged for delivery this Friday since someone will be in to accept them. I must admit that I am getting quite excited! Are you still starting your rotation at the beginning of March or are you going to start earlier?

I would love to have a squat rack, but lack of space is a real problem in our house. I don't even have a barbell at the moment and am going to have to seriously improvise with dumbbells for a while which will be a challenge! I have actually got a membership at the local Council run gym but never go and was thinking I might ditch it once I get into STS. I don't think they have a squat rack there either.

My other half occasionally exercises, but he works longer hours than me and is more into outdoor sports such as kayaking and cycling. But he has done Boot Camp with me on the odd occasion! Well I hope STS inspires your other half to get fit - I see that Cathe is attempting to market STS to more men, which is no bad thing.

Let me know when you get your STS!
