Great tree Missy! Santapaws! You are too funny!
No need for the confession! I think it is a given that we all binged! I think I have eaten most of the pumpkin dessert I made! With icecream no less!
Atleast you guys can do some Cathe to erase the guilt! I want so bad to run! Or do CM! Something that will get my heart pounding and me sweating. It is such torture! Dont take your health for granted! What a humbling experience this has been for me.

Becky, I am impressed that you have kept up with sts! I am so happy your dad is home to heal. What a wonderful Thanksgiving you all must have had.

Betty, I bet you adding blackberries, must have been awesome! I already had to give up the recipe to one of my sisters! I really wasnt happy about it! Hee hee!

My son is barking like a sesl! He sounds just like he did back when he was a baby with croup! With the holidays always comes germs, it seems.

Good morning! Its sunday...last day of thanksgiving vacation...

Carolyn--- i do not take it for granted...in a second everything can change! I live in the moment
I am grateful for everything i have each day. I am on the treadmill warming up....be back....its time for my run! I will run a mile for you!!!

Just did my morning cardio.... have a lovely sunday!!!

Good Morning Ladies. Today I did Slow and Heavy Shoulders,Back and Chest.
It was still in the plastic wrap. I enjoyed that w/o. It was quite different from what I do. There is nothing like a Cathe w/o. You might stray but you always come back.

Missy Your tree is so pretty. I was hoping that present was for me.:(

Carolyn I hope your son is better soon. Hopefully you won't get it. I agree with not taking your health for granted. When I hurt my shoulder and could only do cardio, I was very sad. My shoulder is still giving me problems but I stop when it starts hurting. You will be back at it in no time.

Have a Happy Sunday.
Jean

Hi Ladies,

It sounds like everyone had a great thanksgiving. We did too. Ate way too much over the last 4 days. Oh well.

Friday I did hight step training and I didn't workout yesterday or today.

Yesterday we and into Philly and went to the academy of natural sciences. The kids had a great time. I was going to workout this afternoon but my belly has been really bothering me so hubby intervened and told me no.

Just wanted to check in quickly since I've been MIA. Back to reality tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest f your Sunday.

Good Evening! Just got home from the inlaws....I have come to the conclussion that the reason the scale goes up every monday...is I go to dinner at the inlaws and come home hungry because it is not food I really care for....but I do eat a small portion of it....I come home and cook something here for me and my husband....he feels the same way....but we cant not go to dinner and hurt there feelings.....its not that it isnt good....it just is very unheealthy. My husband even complains about that!!!! My healthier cooking has really rubbed off on him. Which is a good thing!!!! Never thought I would say that!!!

Off to workout....check in later.

Tomorrow----looking forward to getting back to reality!!!

Carolyn, good luck with HC today. I did vol 1 today. It felt good after no working out that last two days. I hope your son feels better. My son would get croup as well. My daughter never did, but my son had it 3 times.

Back to work today.

I got started on Christmas shopping this weekend. I made some progress. Much more to do but it feels good to get started. We will put our tree up probably next weekend. We had to go to an artificial a few years ago due to my allergies (so sad).

Good morning, ladies, and happy anniversary to our thread started last Cyber Monday! High five to Rachel who started it, and Carolyn who jumped on board right away.

Carolyn, hope you are faring well with HC!
I second and third you on time to rein the bad eating in and it's a new week of working out!!!
I hope your son feels better! What a total drag. I was wary of germs this weekend, warning my kids. I'm such a germophobe mom that I remind DS every morning, as he's leaving, not to touch his face at school! What's ghastly is that he doesn't wash or sanitize his hands before eating!
Would your friend consider some Cathe? Or is that too advanced? (I jumped right in as a novice, so I think everyone can do Cathe, modified. You just have to get your body acclimated to the cardio breathing.) Cathe combined with eating awareness/dietary changes would make a huge difference.

Missy, I totally get what you're saying about going to others' homes and eating unhealthy. I wish I were as disciplined as you, but I've sort of resigned myself to it. Everything in moderation is my new motto. Healthy/unhealthy, organic/conventional, meat/vegan, etc.

Colleen, congrats on making headway with your Xmas shopping! Awesome! The great thing about this year, and I love it, is that we still have till Friday before November finishes! Every year, it feels so quick that December (and the shopping) is upon us once Monday after Thanksgiving rolls around.
How's your stomach today?
The museum you went to sounds interesting! Sadly, we hardly frequent any at home any more. In SF a few years ago, I went to the new CA Academy of Sciences. Great for kids, and not too overwhelmingly large. In Calgary in August, we visited the new science center. There was an exhibit that showed the same grassy spot 24 hrs a day for the year, so we could scroll through and see how much snow they get (not too bad). You can see the traffic flowing by at diff times of the day or year, and the angle of the sun. We learned that the sun doesn't rise in the winter till way later than us:confused:!

I did CF today to try to burn off some of the dessert calories:D.

Hi Jean, Marie, Becky, Mary!

Hi Betty,

Belly is still off; I actually have a call in to my GI doctor.

The museum was great. Not overwhelming big at all. They had dinosaur exhibit (which my son LOVED). The butterfly habitat was my favorite. They also had an area where kids could touch different bug and animals. They also had a large taxidermy exhibit which was amazing. All the animals were real. They had tigers, bears, moose, antelopes, bald eagle, and a polar bear and much more.

Hello to all!!! Today has been absolutely crazy. Our office has been closed since last wednesday at noon...so everyone has called today with issues!!!! Andto top it off one of the nurses had a hysterectomy over break...so she is out....and one receptionist is off till wednesday. So i have been at the front desk!!! Omg...i am so ready to go home, but looks like it will be a late night.... 4 patients still here and 1 is a physical....we will be lucky to be out of here by 5:45.

When i get home....i have to eat and then get onto my workout!!!

Colleen---- i would be so sad if i could not have a real tree.....but guess you have to adjust!!!

Okay...i am a christmas freak....it is my favorite time of year. Watched Matchmaker Santa on hallmark yesterday....omg, so good!!! It is a must!!!

Check back later.....

Thanks Colleen! It bugs me so bad that I dont receive their emails about sales anymore! Thank goodness I have you! I will check it out.
I hope your belly feels better. Do you think it was something you had at thanksgiving?
Taxidermy polar bear!? Wowza! That must have been so incredible to see! I love going to the museum with the kids. We can get passes from our library so that it is a huge savings.

HC went well. There were only a few leg things I couldnt do. There was one horizontal thing I couldnt do because it was with all of your weight on one leg. I did some xmas shopping today as well. I have put a good dent in it for the kids.
I am icing my knee as we speak. It really hurts. Im not sure if it was HC or shopping, or both. Bummer either way. I see the surgeon a week from today.

Carolyn---so good to hear you are exercising again!!! I am sure it feels good even if you do modify a bit!!!

Oh, Missy! You're ready for XTrain! Awesome!:D Tim is awesome too!

Carolyn, nice job with HC and doing as much as you did today, considering you had surgery on your knee! Be sure to pace yourself.
That's great you made a dent in your shopping! Still 4 more days of November!

Wow, the crunchy Cheetos kept calling out to me after dinner, and I succumbed!

We're supposed to get a dusting or inch of snow tomorrow. The temps have busted past the 40s threshold into the 30s. We are definitely heading into December. Ick.

Have a great night, all.

Good luck with work today Missy. I hope it isnt like yesterday.

Omg it hurts to breath in! HC got me good! Missy, you need to give hc a whirl again. Gets the abs oh so good! Do you have volume 2? My favorite is vol 3 I think. That would be too much on my leg just yet though.

Carolyn--- i liked hc...but struggled with my wrists....i stuck with it for a few weeks but never could strengthen my wrust so they would not hurt....any recommendations on wrist strengthening exercises???

Missy, have you tried wearing lifting gloves while doing HC? That really helped me with my wrist strength. Yesterday I did HC for the first time without the gloves and I did great. I think I actually prefer it now b/c I have more mobility now that I have more strength in my wrists.

It was hard going to an artificial tree, but I really splurged and it is really a beautiful tree. You really can't tell it's fake.

Carolyn, Thanksgiving is what seems to kick my stomach off again. Now with every meal it's bothering me. I heard back from the doctor yesterday. He put me on a prescription to take before eating and is scheduling me for a colonoscopy. Great job on HC! How is your knee this morning?

This morning I did cyclemax. I did 14 miles.

Carolyn---- look up nordic track...i have the nordic track elliptical which allows me to download from google maps....it is amazing....i just live it!!!! I know they have bikes with this feature too!!!!

Hi Everyone. Today I did Slow and Heavy Biceps ,Triceps and abs. That was a tough w/o. I am glad I opened that one up. Yesterday was errands, phone calls and laundry. I didn't get to relax until the evening. That is very unusual for me. I don't know how you all working Mom's have time to exercise. I was wondering what are your children asking for Christmas this year? My next door neighbor girl is in 2nd grade. I asked her if she plays with dolls and she said no. She likes art. Don't 8 yr old girls play with dolls anymore? I know I did. It is raining here today. I am going to clean the living room and hopefully finish my book.

Carolyn That bike that Colleen posted is nice. The reviews didn't look that bad to me. If I was into biking I would definitely get one. The price was a little steep. But I am sure your spin bike does the job. The Walking Dead was good this week. I don't know if you saw this preview but next week Michon finds the Govenors daughter chained up in a cage. Next week is the last episode for a few months. It is going to be so good.

Colleen That is nice that your Dr. will prescribe meds over the phone . I don't know if mine would do that. I can't believe you can do 14 miles on the bike. I hope the meds make you feel better.

Missy That is great that you got the Wave Master. Come on Xtrain. I would like to get one after I see if I like the w/o. Do you have to fill it with something or is it already filled? Have you seen Naughty or Nice this year? I watched it on the weekend and it was pretty good.

Hi Betty , Becky ,and Marie .
