STS DEAL OF THE DAY!!!!!

Natasha,
It's not that I "liked" your last post, I just wanted you to know I read it...with a breaking heart for you and your kitty :(. How lucky he is to have his person love him so much! I can't put into words how bad I feel for you.
I think this must be one of the most painful decisions pet parents have to make. I know you'll do the right thing. I'm sending you an e-hug....

Natasha!

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty! I know the heartache that comes with them declining. We had our kitty for 20 years and thankfully she was very healthy until just the last month when we had to put her down. Give him a lil' pat on his head from me and hugs to you!

Happy Valentines Day :)

Today I woke up and saw that Mark had left me a card before heading out to work. How sweet :).

Yesterday Bella and I took a walk to Tim Horton's but she was just not in the mood. It was a beautiful, warm day, so I had to take advantage of it. I think her illness is still lingering :(.

When Bella went to bed yesterday evening, I mustered up all my energy and did PUB. I wanted to lie down on the couch and watch tv, but I didn't. It went better than I expected . I think I needed the stress release.

Nancy & Debbie

You both are so very sweet! Thank you for the kind words :). They mean a lot. Oh and Debbie I am so sorry to hear about your kitty too :(. Pets bring so much joy to the family. Their life on this earth is far too short.

Nancy
I can't wait to see your Spring Ahead Rotation . Please post it asap once you have the finalized version :).
How is your foot doing?

Justina
I'm sorry that you are having a plateau in fitness gains :(. I think eating makes up for at least 80% or more of your fitness results. It's crazy how much food can affect us like that -- and not very fair when you are putting in so much hard work with exercise . I have faith in you! I know you can do anything if you put your mind to it :).
I really like the S&H series! I initially downloaded Back & Chest, and decided that if I liked the concept, I would download the rest. The one thing you must be aware of is that it's v-e-r-y s-l-o-w. I know some people find this to be mentally exhausting.
As for cardio, I have been all over the place with them lately. I like to do a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 per week.

My little boy is gone :(. I am devastated. He was suffering though and I could not bare to see him like that. At least now, he is in peace.

Have a good day everyone.

Oh Natasha! :( :( :( :( :(
OUCH.
My heart hurts for you. I hope you can find some smiles behind the tears by remembering all the funny things he did...maybe you and Bella can plant something that will thrive in his honor....
I'm thinking of you today....

Nancy I sent you a PM :).

That's an excellent idea. I think Bella and I will plant something and perhaps put a little pic of him in a frame beside it. He was so photogenic :). I think he knew he was a handsome boy because it always looked as if he was "posing".

Have a good day Nancy & Justina :)

Hi Nancy, Natasha,
Sorry I haven't been checking in. My life can be overwhelming at times.

Natasha,
I'm so sorry about your little boy. Pets are family. He's in a better place now and forever in your hearts. Think about the good memories. I like Nancy's idea of planting something in his honor. What do you think? I can't imagine what you're going through. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Justina

Hi Nancy & Justina :)

Yesterday's w/o was 4DS LIS + BM (original) UB only. Total time 50min. Have I mentioned that I really like that short UB portion from BM? It is very basic and no-frills, but it works you very hard! In only 20min I feel as though all my muscles get completely worked. Good stuff .

I made the mistake of going to a mall yesterday in the city . HOLY BUSY! It was Family Day, and so of course everyone and their uncle, brother, sister, cousin, decided "oh let's go to the mall with the family!". I don't know about the US, but in Canada we love our malls. It was so ridiculous . I hate walking in places where people are shoving me all over the place. I need my personal space bubble. UGH! Never again!

Justina
Thank you for the condolences :).
I understand, life can get pretty hectic -- especially with 3 children! I have no clue as to how you do my friend, but you are truly inspirational :).
Have your girls still been working out with you?

Nancy
Did you finish the draft for the rotation?

Have a good one ladies!

Hello Ladies!!!!
Today is my rest day (Yoga Day) after my first week of The Spring Ahead Rotation. This week's module was an Xtrain Week and very similar to one of the weeks in the user guide. I am still trying to figure out how to upload an excel sheet.
I am going to have to send this paltry post now as it is getting very busy here at work and I'll never send it if I wait!
I'll try to return for personals....sorry so short!

Hi Nancy, Natasha,
How are you ladies doing? Monday night was Gym Style Legs, last night was STS Meso 2 chest, shoudler and triceps. I really enjoy meso 2. :)

Natasha, I personally dislike the mall very much. lol I don't enjoy being in crowed places. It's amazing that I grew up in NYC. It didn't bother me back then. Now that I have a sense of the space I can have, being in crowed places annoy me. :D I only go when I absolutely have to. Most of the time it's the girls that bug me to death about taking them. Morgan has been working out with me 1 to 2 days a week; mostly on the weekends. I have a feeling soon she will lose interest. Teenagers!

Did you ladies get the email requst Cathe sent? She's looking for input for her Greatest Hits Vol.#1. I thought you ladies would be interested and provide great feedback.

Have a good day!

Justina

Gotta go cut and paste this on another thread....:p

...and now for a proper check-in !

This week, as I stated in the previous posts, I'm doing my LIS Module. Last night was Upper Body Trisets and I was nicely surprised by how much stronger I am than the last time I did it! I especially noticed my shoulders and biceps being stronger!!! I will continue with the 100 rep challenges whenever I can and also the rear delt work from XTRAIN Legs. Cathe's right, I DO love the results!!!

Now about the mall.....HATE IT!!!!!! I go maybe once a year...truly...I am one a the few women on the planet that hates shopping! I just hate the whole not finding what I want/trying on a ba-zillion items and still not finding anything that looks good on me/spending too much money on cheaply made crap......oh, did I say how much I hate shopping ;)? Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of crowds either (like Natasha, I need my space). I think that's why we vacation in the fall/off season.

Justina, I like the way you are shaking things up with the Gym Styles and the STS. I know you like those and I think it is brilliant of you to do the workouts that you like...you'll bust through this plateau for sure with that kind of determination. That's one of the reasons I came up with my modules. I feel like I can still swap out certain DVDs and mix it up. I always have a different series to look forward to for the next week, too.

My foot really likes when I have weightlifting days, but isn't too crazy about walking or cardio with lots of up-down pulsing/side to side/or step movements. I have learned to calm things down a bit, but still get some great sweating going on! Tonight I'll be doing Afterburn (LOVE!!!) and I'll make sure I take a lot of time after to stretch and ice my foot down. I love the LIS series!

Now, can you believe Cathe is filming again ???? For about two seconds I wondered whether I would pre-order and then I realized that of course I would !!! But it does mean more negotiating through workouts to make even more modules and rotations!!!!
For my Cathe new workout wishlist I want a DVD of low impact Tabata like XTRAIN Tabatacise (I called it Tabatalooza on another thread). I know that Natasha wants Crazy Tuff Everlasting Step....what does Justina want????

Hi Nancy, Natasha,
Happy Friday!
Last night was X Train legs. Ouch! I remember how challening it is now. :p

Nancy, your rotations look amazing and fun! I like the Gym Style/STS Meso one especially. Low Impact Series...I have to look into that. How's the lifting in that series? That's my thing. I love to lift. :D I also very much enjoy Pyramid. Going to incorporate that in my work out this weekend.

Natasha, how are things going? Family? Bella? Workouts?

Have a good weekend!

Justina

Hi everyone :)

I have my SIL over, so my w/o's have been put on a hiatus for a few days :(. I always feel lightly guilty exercising when company is staying over . Luckily it does not happen often ;).

BTW, I scored great tickets to JM's Maximize Your Life Tour!!!! She comes to Toronto this May .

The last w/o's I did not report were:

Tues: S&H (leg only) + DM (cardio only). LOVE LOVE LOVE S&H!!!!! You guys NEED to get it!!!!! I matched Cathe in all her weight #'s .

Wed: 4DS HI Step :D.

Today: High Reps! I have not done it in a long time! Looking forward to it cuz' it one of my favs :p.

Sunday: Intensity (step & hiit portion)

Next week I try Gym Styles!

Nancy
:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I love your rotations! You are awesome . You have a wonderful ability to mix & match things together! Did you submit some of that to Cathe's Greatest Hits???!!!
I have a love/hate relationship with shopping. Certain things I love to go shopping for like running shoes (or shoes in general :p), shirts/tops, purses, some skirts and dresses. I get sweaty though when I need to hunt for pants/jeans. I feel as though, since I have a large booty, NOTHING fits me right . This world does not make appropriate fitting bottoms for the short pear-shaped woman .
I'm glad to see your foot is better with more weight training and LIS. I still think your foot will recover, so hang in there!

Justina
Thanks for the link to the website! :p:p:p I will check out the high protein goodies :).
I think it's super cool that you grew up in NYC. You must have a very thick skin then ;). As much as I loved Toronto, there came a time when I was like "enough is enough" and I wanted out. It just became too busy and congested for my liking. As plus, I wanted a smaller, safer community to raise my daughter in. I meant to ask you, how is the food in NYC? I heard it is absolutely amazing :p.
How is your little guy doing? He is going to be 3 soon right?

Have a great w/e! Kick butt and take names ladies ;)

Natasha it amazes me how often we end up doing the same workouts! Today I did High Reps for the first time since around September! It was tough! I loved it! On Wednesday of next week I start my Gym Styles module! Looks like you have the same thing in mind!
Went for a 45 minute walk today (it was 60 degrees!!!) and iced my foot when I got home. It was a little tender when I started High Reps, but I pushed through. I iced it again after I stretched and used my foam roller. I hope I'm able to do Cardio Supersets tomorrow ;).
Justina, what have you got planned for the upcoming week?

Hi ladies,

Hope all is well.

Last night was STS Back and Biceps. It felt great when I was done. I definitely worked really hard.

Nancy, I will be doing STS this week. :p I really enjoy this series. I haven't been motiviated in doing cardio at all. I will have to start. Turbo Fire has short Hiit workouts. :p

Natasha,
So happy you are going to see Jillian Michaels. I just bought her book; Slim for Life. It's a good one! A lot of great information and tips. I'm using it as a reference book to stay on course. Oh yeah, I will be getting Slow and Heavy next! :D I grew up in NYC but I don't know if I have thick skin! lol. I feel like when I'm there, I just have a "mind my own business" attitude, and nothing surprises me. Growing up there, I was flashed, followed by someone, saw men commiting lewd acts, saw someone stealing a necklace right off another's man's neck while he slept, harrassed by some guys on subway, etc. NYC is a place where one learns street smarts.

I'm with you ladies when it comes to shopping. I can never find jeans that fit me right. Shopping for clothes is a workout! If I have to hit the mall, I have to go from store to store, try on tons of outfits and then most likely not buying anything. I'm apple shape, so if I have to go one size up, the pant is too long. Petites are too short since I lilke to have the pant leg cover the shoe. Over the years I have learned to stick to certain brands that work for me. Do you have certain brands you are loyal to?

Have a good day!

Justina

AHHH NEW STEP WORKOUTS!!!!

Excited about the new 7 workouts . I'm assuming both of you are on the pre-order bandwagon? :p

Yesterday I made a workout in my blender. It went like this:

-1st round of Tabatacise (1 set - no repeat - 2min)
-1st cycle from AO (3-4 exercises)
-Recovery step from Tabatacise

Then the next group was 2nd round of Tabata, 2nd cycle AO, recovery step. Repeat this cycle for about 50min until all the Tabatacise and AO exercises are complete. OMG was it HARD! I hit the 35min mark and stopped . My legs are still DOMS'ing from High Reps and the lactic acid build-up was killing me! That is one effective leg/glute workout if I do say so myself :D. What I love about it though (besides no repetition) is that you are not pounding high impact the entire time. You get your HR super high with Tabata, then it stays elevated with hiit and the recovery step. What a super effective cardio w/o! MY GLUTES ARE ON FIRE TODAY which is a plus :D.

Nancy
I was thinking the same thing about how our w/o's tend to by n'sync sometimes! It must be the Aries mind ;). Without even looking back at your rotation, I also decided to do Gym Style. One question, do you think I can shorten the w/o's in my blender and still get an effective w/o in 30-40min?
I'm jealous of your balmy weather :). I'm counting down to spring! I can't wait to spend my days outdoors again.

Justina
Even though Toronto is fairly safe, I have also seen my fair share of things in that city: a guy robbing a lady while she was getting gas, a man showing his private area in public (that was icky), lots of prostitutes and pimps on certain downtown streets. I always felt "on guard" while walking anywhere. I was especially cautious of my purse at all times. I'm sure it's nothing like NYC, but you do need a certain degree of street smarts there as well.
What brands are you loyal too? Sheesh, I'm all over the place. Whatever fits right, I take it! I actually love Old Navy, Gap, H & M. I have bought clothing at Walmart and have been satisfied. I was a big fan of Reitmans Petites. I used to work right across from that store and frequently stopped in .

Have a good day ladies!

HI Natasha & Justina!
Last night I did Cardio Supersets (no step bonus) and had a blast! I forgot to ice my foot down afterward and the surprising thing is my foot doesn't feel as bad as it sometimes does after cardio ??!! Either it is getting better with the elimination of high impact and step, or the ice is a bad idea??? Anyway, I have a rest night tonight before I start up the Gym Styles Module tomorrow (excited for this one!). I think my foot will like the rest.

Natasha, I think you'll still be able to get a great work out in 30-40 minutes. You could always trim a set off each grouping....it seems that Cathe does that when she makes an "express" premix.
I bet you are jumping for joy about those new step workouts! I can't tell you how much I miss doing step :(! The thing that hurts my foot is when the achilles gets that stretch (think tap downs and running man). I even lowered my step height but the repetitive nature of the moves seems to aggrevate my heel. It is very disappointing...I really loved Step Blast, Intensity, Athletic Step, and Low Impact Challenge. I have to admit that I am a bit wishy-washy about getting this new series because I feel that I'd have to shelf too many of the workouts: no kick box, no step, etc. I want to wait and see how much is low impact. On the other hand, I love the idea of the glute workout and the legs and abs workout! As long as Cathe curbs the impact I could do those! I've even been toying with the idea of a spin bike but they are pricey and I really don't have the room. I've never done spin before (I don't like class settings .), but a co-worker's wife teaches spin at our local Y and can give me some pointers. Of course I can kick myself right now for not getting CycleMax and Ride with those series' pre-orders! But who knew???!!!!

Justina, are you going to pre-order the new series????

Today is so incredibly crappy outside: icy rain, COLD!!!! I don't know where our spring went ! It will be a good day to stay inside and do a relaxing session of Yoga Relax ;).
I hope you both have a productive day and a great workout, too!
