STS DEAL OF THE DAY!!!!!

Natasha, your weights on "Legs" are impressive! I actually felt the burn at the thought of using 8# for the shin shavers! OWIE!!!!! :p ITA about those weighted pizza presses; by the time they come around my glutes are FRIED!!! I think XTRAIN Legs is one of the hardest of Cathe's leg routines...it sneaks up on you! (Although Gym Styles Legs makes me whimper, too!)
Justina, you'll be needing a set of 20# and 25# before you know it! Start saving now! I can't bring myself to buy 30# just yet; I end up stacking my Pace weights on my 25# and wearing my wrist weights to get the weight up for one arm rows . I would love to have the vertical weight stack that the crew uses! Wish list!!!

Tonight I'll be doing XT BS CBS and probably throwing in a 100 rep challenge for shoulders. I didn't do last night's 100 rep hip thrusts because I was toast after CLB! My foot is "talking" to me today, but I think it is left over from a long walk I did on Sunday. My boss is telling me it's time to see a doctor :(. I'll try to put that off as long as possible ;)!

Hi Nancy, Natasha,

I thought about buying one of those weight racks. I have all my dumbbells on the floor. I'm afraid the kids can trip over them and hurt themselves one day.

Nancy, so after I finished Legs last night I remembered to check into 100 rep challenge. I just watched Amanda do the reps. The hip thrusts look difficult! I'm looking forward to giving it a try though. Where can we get the cushion thing for the barbell? Looks like I might also need extra risers. I only have two on each side. Wouldn't it put me too low to the ground? I agree. I think XTrain leg workouts are pretty challenging. It will just help me get sexy legs before summer gets here!:D
Good for you that you can lift that heavy! I will definitely work up to that. It's a matter of time right? :p I love to see people's reaction when they see women buying heavy weight at the store.

I'm sorry about your foot. :( I hope you recover soon.

Natasha, how are things going? I'm sure you're rockin the XTrain workouts.

My friend at work is a fantastic baker. She always brings me sweets whenever she bakes. yesterday she bought me this chocolate cake that was out of this world! Too bad I had to share it with the kids. :D I cut three slices into smaller slices for all of us. It was so good! But honestly, I ate it so fast that I felt sick for few seconds afterwards! ;)

Have a good day!

Justina

Hi everyone :)

It's been a rough week :(. Bella has been sick. My nights have consisted of very little sleep unfortunately. Monday I did not workout because I was just too exhausted. Sunday I did Step Moves and was proud because I have the entire choreo down :). Yesterday DH was home in the day, so I took advantage and did Cardio Leg Blast. I went really heavy, using 25lbs for almost every weighted exercise . The bad thing is that my forearms were hurting sooo badly, but my legs really didn't feel a thing . I might try wrist straps to take the pressure off my forearms and see how that goes. I would love to use 30lbs dumbbell's for static lunges, but I know my hands will give out :(.

Justina
I bought a fairly inexpensive dumbbell rack because like you my weights were scattered on the floor.
Thanks for the link on Amazon.com. I would love to order from there, but the shipping $$ would make the gloves well over $60!!!! It's crazy how us Canadian's get shafted .
When I was working, people would always bring me food and baked goods because they knew how much I loved food :D. I think I had a reputation for being a little food monster :p.
It's funny how people react when they see women using/buying heavy #'s. The other day my DH told me that he saw (for the first time!) a woman at the gym using 50lbs! I was like "hell ya!!!".

Nancy
I'm sorry to hear about your foot :(. I know what you mean about the doctor thing, as I'm the same way. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will work out positively in your favor.
I would LOVE the hex dumbbell set Cathe uses! All those #'s at her fingertips make me super jealous .
Speaking of XT Legs, I was "snooping" at people's reviews over here  and it seems many people are not fond of it. I personally think the standing portion is a bit short -- only 20min . I also thought she would be using heavy weights, like in STS Meso 2 (perfection!). The floor and barre work I absolutely love though. All in all, is does pack a powerful punch in such a short time .

Have a good day ladies

Hi ladies!

Last night was Bi & Tri. I think I'm ready to up the weight on the biceps. :)

Natasha,
Wow, shipping is pretty high to Canada. I have Prime membership at Amazon.com so any items with a Prime logo I can buy with free 2 day shipping. Doesn't Amazon.com-Canada have that option (Prime); I wonder? Sorry to hear about that. That's crazy expensive. I don't like to pay for shipping for anything. How's Bella feeling now? Better I hope. I remember those days; stay up all night and have to go to work the next morning. It's definitely hard work. I think the wrist wrap is a smart idea! It should assist with the movement of heavy lifting in the forearm. Let me know how it works.
Wow, 50 pounds is major heavy lifting! Is she a body builder? :D My dog is 50 pounds! I can't even imagine having to pick her up. That's impressive.

On my way to work this morning on the bus, I saw a man doing Tai Chi outside his working building. I've always wanted to learn Tai Chi. Maybe I should look into at home DVDs...Beachbody has a program for Tai Chi. Have you ladies have any experience with Tai Chi?

Have a good day!

Justina

Justina
One Korean lady I worked with did Tai Chi. This woman was incredible. I think she was around 60-65yrs old (but look WAY younger than that!). She was in such amazing shape. I remember her telling me she would do Tai Chi and jump rope every evening! She also ate super, super well. Anyhoo, I would say that yes the program is probably very beneficial. I would also be interested in it. It's all about balance right?

Ok, gotta scoot! Have a great day :)

Hi Natasha,

What an inspiration. I have no excuses not to take care of myself. :)

Have to check into the DVD set. Looking forward to de-stress. :D

Talk to you later!

Justina

Happy Friday ladies :)

Well I did it. I purchased those pink Everlast gloves from Amazon.ca . The price was reasonable at $35 w/free shipping. I know how it is here in Canada, and I would have struck gold if I found those gloves for less than that. I have no clue as to why fitness equip is so expensive here . Anyhoo, excited to try out Hard Strikes with it .

Yesterday's w/o was XT BS CBS. I'm excited because I think my shoulder's and rear delts are getting stronger!

Wed I was super tired from being up pretty much all night listening to Bella cough :( so no workout.

Justina
Congrats on being able to up the weights in bi's . It's so nice to see progress isn't it?
That woman, her name is Sarah, and yes I was very inspired by her. She also read palms, and ummm...well let's just say she did not give me a very "positive" reading. I asked her if I would have any kids, and she looked at me with sadness in her eye's. She said maybe 1 child. The funny thing was she had no idea about all my previous miscarriages. She was actually kinda accurate as I am very lucky to even have 1 child. When I did get pregnant and she found out, she would not let me do any heavy lifting around the store. She would encourage me to eat edamame and other Asian inspired dishes/food. Bella loves ethnic cuisine, so perhaps that had something to do with it :p.

Have a great day ladies :)

Hi Natasha, Nancy,

I skipped a work out on Thursday. I could not get myself motivated enough to do it when I got home. But I got back into it on Saturday and Sunday. Friday was my off day.

Natasha, so glad you got the gloves and at a reasonable price!:D I love Amazon.com. It's my go-to store for certain items. I've been noticing back ache lately. Not sure if I pulled something. Just have to take it easy with my next work out I guess. :(
This week I have training for three days. Those days are the most exhausting. Sitting and listening to someone talk all day is no fun. Sarah sure sounds interesting. The Asian culture has specific things that pregnant women should not do. There is also a long list of to-do and not-to-do for post baby. I personally don't follow those rules much. If my mother was around I probably would have been more influenced by it. :)

Nancy, what's new these days? I'm sure you're still rocking the work outs and staying active.

Have a good day ladies!

Justina

I get to do Supercuts tonight, and I 'm Super-excited about it!!!!
The last few days were good workouts for me; I did Cardio Leg Blast without the cardio :)p) and 100 rep hip thrusts with just my 10# bar and I had to sub for Tabatacise (used XT AOLIHiiT) and sub for Hard Strikes (used S&G). Yesterday was the S&G day and I did 100rep challenges for EVERYTHING except the hip thrusts. I even did 100 calf raises and forearm curls! I didn't plan on that, it just sort of happened and kept spinning out of control!
I previewed Supercuts yesterday and can't wait to tackle it tonight! It looks like a toughie!
I hope that Bella is feeling better Natasha, and that you're able to get back to your routine! I'm sure those pink gloves will boost your enthusiasm and, with your newfound shoulder strength, Hard Strikes will become one of your favorites! I also am feeling stronger in the rear delts! The 100 rep challenges really get my muscles engorged and I think they really needed the push!
Justina, I hope you find some good Tai Chi DVDs and try it out for us!;)
I love watching people do it..it looks like a beautiful dance! Years ago I had a friend who was in his late 80s and did Tai Chi everyday. He was in amazing condition and had more flexiblity and command of bablance than I have ever had! Maybe someday I'll look into it?????
I hope you both have a very happy Monday and enjoy tonight's workouts!
Wish me luck through Supercuts (it looks pretty low impact, so I think I can really give it my all!)!

I really liked Supercuts! It had so much variety and the time went by pretty quick! Those sit ups/push ups at the end were BRUTAL!!!!! I didn't think I'd be able to do Core#2 after, but I gave it my best effort for what I had left! Today is my rest day and since it is 60 degrees out I think it will be a 30 minute walk for me after work :D! Some of the spring flowers are already coming up! Not too much longer before tank top weather! (yes, I know I'm being a bit optimistic!)!
Tomorrow I start Week 6 of the 90 Day Undulating Rotation with XTRAIN Legs. I'm whincing a little at the thought of those shin shavers !
Hope you both are doing great with your workouts!!!!

Hi fit ladies!
Today is day two of training at work. Mental exhaustion. Last night I did Burn Set. It was good because I needed it. I felt so tense after I got home from work. :)

Nancy, congrats for rockin the workouts!:D I haven't tried Supercuts yet but I'm looking forward to it. I find myself pulling away from the 90 day calendar (not following it exactly) because of some preferences over certain Cathe's dvds. On top of that, I don't feel like I'm lifting often enough. I enjoy weight training and want to do that three to four times a week. The Hiit workouts could be shorter so I will start doing the premixes to save time.

I think I will supplement the calendar with STS Meso 2 dvds with heavy lifting. I'm looking forward to tank top weather, so I better get working on those arms and shoulders! :D

Natasha, how's Bella feeling? Better I hope. Have you used the pink gloves yet? :D

By the way, I received a promotion at work yesterday. My boss told me yesterday evening. It felt good to be recognized for the hard work I put into my career. I have even more of a reason to pass the professional exam now. Yikes! I'm not a good test taker. Have to really focus on time management these days since we only have 24 hours a day! :D

Have a good day!

Justina

Hi everyone!

Yes, Bella is getting better (thanks for asking ladies :)), but now I'm sick . I was running a fever all last night, and for some reason I slept bad the night before and woke up with a sore neck, shoulder's . I rarely get sick, so this a bummer for me :(.

Yesterday during the day (before my horrible fever night) I did TBT LB + XT All Out (floor hiit only). Total time 60min. Great w/o . This combo works the thigh and buns well. Great one for you Nancy, since it's low impact.

Oh ya, I forgot to tell you guys about these awesome new w/o's I found on youtube! Check this link out: https://www.fitness-fx.com/. This is their main website, but they have short video's avail on youtube. I was able to do little 5-10min w/o's on Monday (total time 40min or so). SO MUCH FUN! If you get a chance, check out Stomp FX w/Neil Bates! He is great . I am going to see if I can order just downloads of these w/o's. I AM IMPRESSED .

Nancy
I KNOW, Super Cuts is AMAZING! I love, love it . Those push/sit-ups at the end are just crazy! I do all 6 rounds, even though I am like 1 round behind Cathe .
You are just moving right along with your rotation. I simply love your dedication :).
Jealous of your 60F weather and nice walks :(. It's been brutally cold here, even too much for Bella and I to enjoy.
How is your foot doing?

Justina

Congrats on the promotion at work!!! I am super, super happy for you :). You deserve it, as I'm sure you work your tail-off :).
Just to reassure you, I know a lot of people from my check-in's have changed their XT rotation around. Some of them even decided to stop doing the XT rotation altogether, and incorporate some other Cathe's w/o's.
No pink gloves yet . Did I mention the shipping throughout Canada is horrible too .
How is your back BTW?

Ok gotta jet! BBL :). Have a good day ;)

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the support! I apprecite it. :D
Nancy, the messages put a smile on my face.

Natasha, my back is better. Thanks for asking. I actually took the night off last night since I was feeling tired. So tonight is a work out night. I'm sorry you're sick now. :( Hope you have chicken soup? That's an American thing to have chicken soup when you're not feeling well. It's comfort food I guess. :)
I checked out the youtube video you're talking about. It looks like fun! I also visited the website but I didn't see any samples of the DVDs. I'd like to see what the workouts look like.

So today I'm feeling a bit down. I have to interact with this man who is the boss of my counterpart in UK. I feel like he has beef with me or something. Maybe it's just best to ignore it. Just try to do my job well.

Hope you feel better Natasha!
Have a good day ladies!

Justina

Hi everyone :)

No workouts to report. I have been sick with a fever all week and have averaged 2-3hrs sleep every night for the past 5 days :(. The other night Bella threw-up all over her bed while having a coughing episode. So of course, when it rains it pours, so I had to proceed to do laundry and change the bedding the following day while feverish :(. DH works at the airport for snow removal and has been working crazy hours with the recent snow storm. An interesting fact you guys probably never knew: Toronto's airport is one of the only airports in the world that NEVER closes. NEVER. No amount of snow, sleet, hail, nothing shuts that airport down. They spend billions of $$ for snow removal equipment to ensure this. Because of this storm, a lot of flights are getting re-directed to Toronto's airport in lieu of other airports getting shut down. DH said the airport has been crazy busy. Last night I begged him to get up with Bella and give her medicine because I just could not take 1 more sleepless night. My eye's were hurting and I am unable to shake this sickness off because, well of course, you need sleep and rest for that . This mom gets no rest .

On a happy note :) since DH has bee working a lot of overtime hours, I decided it was in my best interest to...PURCHASE MORE DOWNLOADS!! He he. I got GS UB and S&H Legs & Shoulder, Bi's & Tri's (I already have chest & back).

Justina & Nancy
Thanks for the get well wishes :).

Justina
I'm sorry about the man in the UK you have to interact with :(. I remember when I used to have to interact with the executive "show-offs" from my company's head office. I always tried to stay confident and positive. I know, easier said than done right? I hope things went ok with him. And plus, how could he not like you?! You are such a nice person :). Tell him you are best friends with Queen Elizabeth or something ;).

Have a good day ladies :)

Hi fit ladies!
How are things going? Yesterday was Chinese New Year. We celebrated on Saturday by having hot pot. :D Have you ladies ever tried? So good!

I'm so sorry Natasha. Sleepless nights does no good for anyone. It's tough your hubby had to work so much. I did not know the airport never closes! Do you have family close by who can help sometimes? You're right. With no rest you don't get better! I hope Bella is feeling better. It's difficult to see little ones sick. You want to do everything you can to make the pain go away. :(
I feel like when I'm tired or get no sleep, I can get sick more easily. I don't get much sleep during the week. I don't seem to have enough time to do everything I want to do in a day. Awesome about additional downloads! Something positive has to come out of that! :D

Not worried about the man in UK. I don't see him often anyway. :)

I haven't been getting the results that I want as far as fitness is concerned. I know exactly what the problem is; clean eating. I have to do better job at it. My problem area is the middle. I can't seem to get rid of fat there. Have to do something different starting today. Bought a salad for lunch today and had protein with breakfast and mid morning snack! Dinner will be light.

I know I can do this if I put my mind to it. :D

Nancy, how are you doing with Xtrain? What kind of results have you been seeing? How's your foot?

Have a good day!
Justina

Oh my, I HAVE been missing in action, haven't I?
I have been plugging away at work and with my workouts and haven't been as attentive as I should to the check in...
First, I have to tell you, Natasha, how sorry I am that you are SO SICK :(. I want you to get well VERY SOON, LIKE NOW!!! I hope that you can get back to your workouts, but please take it SLOWLY! Your body needs time to get back to its awesome state of goddessness!
Justina, I know what you mean about the "stall" in fitness gains. I like this rotation we're doing, but I have had to lay off some of the cardio and the weightlifting seems too spread out?
I'm going to try to design a new Spring Ahead Rotation and incorporate Gym Styles, Pyramids, STS, LIS, and Xtrain. It makes my head spin trying fit it all together, but I am going to give it my all! It will probably utilize Burn Sets a lot! I love Supercuts and will use that along with Afterburn every week, as well as All Out Low Impact Hiit. I'll also insert some low impact Tabatas on weight days and hope that that will be enough cardio. I'll post the final product when it's ready!
In the mean time, I am sending happy healing vibes to Natasha & motivational butt-kicking vibes to Justina!

Hi Nancy, Natasha,

Hope you are doing well.

Sunday night was Gym Style Legs, and last night was Gym Style Back and Biceps. I am giving X train a rest for a few days. :) GS Legs was great. My calves are still a bit sore from Sunday! :D

How often do you gals do cardio? and the length? I prefer weight lifting but I know I have to do cardio to burn fat. I go back to Turbo Fire often because some of the Hiit worksouts are only 15 minutes to 25. Very short but intense.

Nancy, the spring ahead rotation idea sounds awesome! You have a great collection of Cathe's work. I think I have these dVDs too! :D I'm also interested in Slow and Heavy. What do you think about it?

Not purchasing now but will keep it in mind when I get bored again. :D

Natasha,
I just realized that you recently purchased Slow and Heavy downloads. What do you think? Have you had a chance to try? I hope you are feeling better. :)

Have a good day ladies!

Justina

It's been a terrible few days for me. I just recently found out that my cat is very sick and I might have to put him down :(. We recently had blood tests done at the vet and got good news and bad news. Good news is that the blood work came back ok. We are treating him with Hyperthyroid medicine and should start to see an improvement witihin 1 week. He has to be on this medicine for the rest of his life. The vet gave us some pills to start out with until their order of gel comes in (you put it on the hairless area in the ear). This is easier than giving pills to a cat. DH is working today, so Bella and I are going to walk over and get the gel. It will be about 3 miles, so that will be some nice exercise. Bad news is that he could still have kidney failure, in which the medicine won't work and he will get progressively worse. The thing is he is 15yrs old now. He might live for a few more years, but realistically he is sick and old. I'm not sure if he will be able to bounce back from this. It pains me to see him suffer. He is such a sweet boy too :(. He has never hissed at anyone (not even Bella when she was a bit rough). He is super affectionate and very loving. Unlike my girl cat . I'm beyond upset and very distraught.

Yesterday I decided to do Low Max. All 70min on an 8inch step. I felt good, just a little tired. I wanted too quit a few times, but the music kept me going.

Nancy & Justina
I've read your posts. You guys are doing incredible. I will BBL to write personals. Have a great day :).
