***STS COOLERS April***

Evening Coolers

Took DS to his swimming lessons then off to Wally World for new running shoes. Got home in time to do Turbo Jam CP #1 along with 10min of the floor work of Ab Jam. Just watching Survivor's Tribal Council now.

Kim - hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Have a nice evening.

I've kind of lost interest in Survivor. That's great that your mom is making you a quilt!

Did SJp premix #5, was going to do abs but ds wanted some attention.

They have put the city into a state of emergency now!

I'm thinking of using the 20% off coupon to get some bands as mine are getting old. I don't think I'll look at the tower as just don't have room and don't want to be tempted. Kim

Hi coolers,
Yesterday's workout was BM2 #6 step cardio premix, with STS Abs weights and plates. Today's workout was STS Disk 14 (legs), then a hill climb bike ride with my girlfriends (4 of us and 1 husband of one of the ladies). Also practiced a little golf in the front yard. I need to work on my short game this year to bring down my scores. I have a big golf weekend planned. Saturday is ladies golf league in the morning. Sunday and Monday will be playing golf over in Reno. Think DH will go with me and hang out with DS on Sunday and me on Monday. The weather is supposed to be in the low 80's over in Reno. Out come the shorts:D.

Kim, I saw the pictures of your city. Are you in no danger of flooding? Makes you wonder why they build in a flood plain. I can't understand it. I had DOMS big time with Disk 13, much more than I ever have. Really. Wonder if my legs will be sore tomorrow. I'm feeling some soreness in my glutes as I sit here. I need to look ahead and see what the weights will be for STS Disk 15. I'm supposed to do it on Saturday morning, but I golf in the morning and I'm askeered of being too fatigued in the arms to golf.

Patricia, don't think I will be buying the tower. If I had a regular workout room I might be tempted, but I haul everything out each morning to the family room. Maybe someday I will have a workout room with enough room to actually work out. The room where I store my weights and that has the Bowflex just seems too small, plus there's no way I could do a step workout in there. Are you ordering the tower? That's great that your Mom is making you a quilt wall hanging. What colors will it be? I'm taping Survivor right now, will watch later.

Laurie, glad you had a good Easter. When is your first Faire? How's the dress coming?

Must go,

Evening Coolers - TGIF

Left work a little early, it was so beautiful and picked up DS from pre-school early. We played soccer outside before coming in for dinner. I had a light dinner and got in my w/o right after. Disc 3B legs. So 2nd week of meso 1 done finally. Hope to get some cardio in tomorrow but we're on the road to check our cottage and that usually eats up a lot of the day.

Jeanette - sounds like you have a fun filled weekend lined up. So jealous of the shorts. Just starting to wear heavy sweaters out instead of winter jackets here. I may buy the tower. I've been searching on line and there really isn't much like it out there and for that price. Living in a rural area its hard to get out to specialty stores to shop around too.

Kim - hope you're not too water logged. I spoke to a co-worker there today and he didn't seem too concerned or maybe he is just tired of it all:rolleyes: I've been looking at the red heavy band and don't know if it's heavier than my green one from Beach Body. I wished everyone just used the same colours or at least assigned a weight to them.:( I'd hate to buy it and pay the US exchange and Cathe's shipping and find out its lighter... I've handles that allow me to put 3 tubes on them so I'm going to try that this weekend before committing to buying.:(

Laurie - hope all is well with you. Is DH having a good time in LV?

Goodness, I ended up having a long nap this afternoon I didn't even realizle I was so tired! I went running with 3 friends this morning and we did 6 miles, they have been running more than me so are fast I found it hard! My legs were also sore from doing legs yesterday so that didn't help!

Patricia Glad to hear it's warming up for you! It's cold this weekend, only
minus 1 when I went running tihs morning. It's supposed to warm up during the week though.

Laurie Is your DH home yet? One of the girls I was running with this morning was suggesting that we go do the LV half marathon in the fall.

Jeanette I hope you fare better doing you're biking after disc 14 than I did try to run the next day! Enjoy the warm weather! We're in an ideal spot not to flood, lots of flooding close to use but not in our neighbourhood. We're far from the rivers, and on high ground.

Evening Coolers

We were up and out for breakfast then hit the road south for 2 hrs to look at and order our wood flooring for the cottage. Then to Boston Pizza for lunch and then to the cottage. We needed to start storing stuff in our bunky and get the cottage floor as empty as possilbe so the installer doesn't have too much stuff to move around. Next week we will probably put the boat in as the ice is just out now. Got home around 4:30 and got in my workout. I had to work up the "courage" to do it as my legs are also killing me from yesterday's leg workout. It was real "fun" lugging things out of the cottage today, down steps then up steps into the bunky:) Anyhow, I did 4DS - Boot Camp cardio, then Ab Burner from CLX. DS got under foot as I was coming out of a push up and I "kneeed" him in the head - well, grazed him with my knee and that put an end to my w/o. Good thing it was the last drill:) He was just more surprised then hurt thankfully. He doesn't always seem to understand to get out from under my feet when I'm working out. I've kicked him in the head once before, yikes.

Ordered in Chinese so I ate out for all 3 meals today.:D:p

Kim - I'm wondering if we would be better to schedule a rest day after a leg w/o??:D Good on you for taking a nap. Hope you can fall asleep tonight though:p Glad to stay you're staying dry. Have you got to drive your new SUV?

Waving hi to eveyone else.

Patricia

Hi Coolers,
Let's see, yesterday was 40 minutes of Step Blast and SJP Hi-Lo. After work was a drive to the desert with the dogs and DH. I took a little nap and did a bit of reading. Very relaxing. This morning was the ladies golf league. I did okay, but not as well as last week. Had fun anyway. Came home and did some housework, then took a bike ride as I needed to get something in. I have 2 days of golf out of town starting tomorrow and I didn't want to be too sore from STS Disk 15 (Back and Biceps), so it will have to wait until Tuesday. At the rate I'm going, I should finish STS around the holidays LOL! Really looking forward to playing golf with an old friend of mine. She's a hoot so it should be fun, fun! We're golfing 2 really nice courses, with special rates so I can afford to play. Otherwise, I'd probably not get to golf this calibre of course.

Patricia, sounds like you had a busy day today. Poor little DS. Bet you felt bad accidently hitting him. I had Chinese last week and it was tasty. Did you enjoy disk 3? I actually didn't mind all of the leg workouts in Meso #1. I was reading that the plyo leg workout isn't as hard as some people were dreading. That tower would be a good thing to have, but I'm going to try using the Bowflex for the squat leg workout. Diane Sue from the Hardcore check in uses hers for some of it and it works fine. I just don't want to buy any more equipment. I still need to get some 30# DB's. Not cheap at that weight.

Kim, glad you are not in danger of flooding. Are the waters receding yet? My legs weren't sore for the bike ride afterwards, but they were yesterday. All of my DOMS have come the next day for me. The day of the workout isn't too bad. How was Disk 15? I printed the workout card and saw some of the weights. Yikes. How did you fare?

Must run, will check back on Monday or Tuesday.

Hi Coolers

Just finished up Disc 4A - chest, shoulders & bis. I got my Supreme Pilates machine out and I used it to do push-ups on. There is a raised bar that a little lower than a counter top but higher than a chair that I'm using now to do push ups off of and I should also be able to do pull-ups with. I'll try on Tuesday. It can't unfortunately be modified for a bench press so still looking at that tower.

Got out this a.m. and played in the yard. I've been cleaning up so more in our storage area and posting some free stuff and for sale stuff on Kijiji. In the cleanup mood right now so DH knows to stay out of my way unless he wants to help (which is NOT:mad:)

Jeanette - have a good time golfing over the next few days.

Hope Laurie and Kim are out enjoying good weather.

DS is awake now from his nap so must go.

Did disc 15 and the pilates abs early this am. Then went to watch ds play hockey, he had two games today. He's making up for lost time now :D

Jeanette My forearms really burned after doing disc 15 last time but sore far they feel okay. Have fun golfing! The floodwaters are starting to recede but all the dikes/patrols etc will stay in place for awhile yet. We're just all hoping for no rain in the forecast. I saw the North Dakota news the other night, and they have lost 20,000 cattle to the floodwaters. A lot of the farmers will not be able to seed this year.

Patricia Glad your ds was okay. Always a worry working out with young kids around. Sounds like you're having some nice spring weather out your way! IS the flooring going in soon? I have driven the Santa Fe a few times and really enjoy it. I drove the kids to the movies the other night and the dashboard was all lit up with blue lights and ds's friend said it looked like a space ship. Also enjoying the 3 months of free satellite radio!

Waving hi to Laurie! Kim

Evening Coolers

Did Lowmax tonight (up to & including the 6th combo/blast). That is a tough leg w/o when I still have DOMS from Friday. Ran out of time. A phone call interruption during my warm-up, people arranging to p/u an arm chair I was getting rid of, and of course later on when they came to p/u. I wasn't going to discourage them from coming tonight. The sooner I get rid of junk the better:D This Sat. you're allowed to put stuff out on the curb for people to just come and take and I think I'll have a few items on offer:D:D We suppose to be moving summer of 2010 but I get a feeling it will be earlier in 2010 then later...

Kim - LOL about the lit up dash board. So who are you trying to listen to on the radio why you can? How do like the pilates abs? I haven't worked up the desire to try it yet. You must be due for a rest day about now.

Nighty night all.

Hi Coolers,
Had a very nice time in Reno golfing 2 beautiful courses. Sad to have to come back and go to work, though I'm very thankful for my job.

Tomorrow will be STS Disk 15B, finally. I read how much everyone's forearms burned with that workout, that's why I didn't want to do it before a big weekend of golf.

Patricia, good job on doing Lowmax after the DOMS of a previous leg workout. That is probably one of my favorite step workouts.

Kim, that's awful about the loss of cattle. My SIL and DD lost about 100 head to a forest fire a couple years ago. Now that's a bad way to go... Nice to drive a new car, isn't it? I love my little Honda Civic. It sure needs to be washed now.

Gotta go,

:rolleyes:I'm on my second rest day now oh well, just felt like I really needed it.
Netta, how are those forearms today??

Patricia, are you moving back to TO?? and why will it be sooner? I'm like you and like to clear house. Sold our van for $800 last night:) Glad to have it off the driveway but will miss it.
Watching TBL and back on track tomorrow! Kim

Evening All - completed Disc 5A tonight and just finished updating my actuals in the w/o manager. Real cool feature to update your 1rm's too.

Kim - good on you for listening to your body. Sometimes with this whole 6 day rotations we feel (I think) pressured to w/o everyday but as long as we're consistant I think thats all that really matters. Just remember your muscles are repairing themselves:p Good on you for selling your van so quickly. My Mom thinks I should try to sell some of her stuff as I've gotten rid of so much this week. Well, what do you expect when its free (or priced to go QUICK:D)

Jeanette - glad you enjoyed your golfing.

Ciao,

Patricia, putting in the actuals, doesn't update the 1RM does it? I didn't think it did :confused:

Ds and I did a 6 mile run together outside, it was fun. He runs a little slower pace than my running friends do so more relaxed. Nice to have the time to chat with him. He really wants to run the half marathon in June. Do you think age 12 is too young for that kind of mileage? The race sponsors have no age limitation for the half ( age 16 for the full marathon) but recommends that participants be at least 12 yrs old.

GRRRR, just lost my post.

Anyhow, I did Turbo Jam CP #3 along with abs from Project You tonight. Quiet evening here. Will have to tune in to the news to see if the Canadiens are still in the play-offs. DH is a fan and he thought that eating chips each night they played would help them win, however, they lost their 1st 3 games and tonight I think was elimination. He is diabetic and his blood vessels in his eyes are now bleeding so he has to have them lazered. He promises me know he will get everything under control but I've heard that promise for several years now:confused: Last year his eye dr warned him but obviously it didn't scare him enough but today I think he might have gotten a wake up call. Time will tell.

Kim - we only moved here to build the new hospital. We wouldn't have any reason to stay here once its built unless another BIG project suddenly came our way here and that is unlikely. We like working for our company and wouldn't leave it. While we don't have to hand over the hospital until summer 2010 and I can see where some of us will probably have our portion of the work done and therefore looking for a new project to work on. By spring of '10 I would probably start up a new project and still finish the accounting for this one from a distance. I would think a 1/2 marathon would be okay for a 12 yo. Maybe google to see what you can find out. I think the only concern with children is lifting weights too young. LOL at the slower pace. As long as you still got a good w/o.:D

Thanks for the links, I'll do some reading over the weekend. I just did disc 16 for the first time, really felt the shoulders on that one! Will do a longer check in tomorrow on my day off.
Just wondering if Laurie is okay, we haven't heard from her in awhile.

Evening Coolers

Completed Disc 6A - legs tonight. Really enjoyed the bonus band w/o. I just hope I can move tomorrow. :p I think I'll do the cardio portion of SJP tomorrow.

DH is taking DS with him to the cottage for the weekend so I'm now at a loose end Fri & Sat. I'm thinking of driving over to Sudbury and getting a Starbucks coffee and sitting in Chapters for a while:D plus there is a fitness store there that I like to go in and check things out. Never have come out of there with out something:)

Waving hi to everyone

Hi Coolers,
Let's see, where was I? Tuesday was STS Disk 15A, which I enjoyed. Yesterday was Lowmax 1-4, then STS Pilates Abs. Today was STS Disk 13B. I like repeating the workouts the 2nd week. I'm seeing good results with my arms for sure and getting some compliments from co-workers and DH. Tonite should have been cycling with my GF's, but we were invited to an awards ceremony for our GS. It was nice. Tomorrow will be a practice golf night. Saturday will be ladies golf league, then Sunday a bike ride. Guess I will do Legs STS Disk 14B on Saturday morning.

Patricia, I enjoyed the leg workouts in Meso #1, even the bonus work. Enjoy your time this weekend. Sounds lovely. That's scarey about your DH's eyes. Hope he got a wakeup call that sticks this time.

Kim, your DS sounds like quite a nice kid, must make you feel good to have him want to work out with you. I couldn't tell you about kids and running marathons. I thought they had the Workout Manager fixed so that putting in actuals would update the 1rm's. I have a bunch to put in. My forearms weren't too bad, to my surprise. I did have some good DOMS after doing Disk 13A. I did 13B today and can feel a little bit of soreness tonite.

Must run,

Hi Coolers

I'm glad to report that while I have DOMS in my BUTT this a.m. it is nothing compared to the previous weeks. I must be adapting to the workouts:p
