***STS COOLERS April***

Morning!

Todays workout is 30 min. of stationary bike at the gym, and core work.

Patricia, Oh so sorry to hear you have the DOMS! ;) Oh your poor DS, I hope he starts feeling better soon, it is so tough to listen to them coughing like that. :( So far work has been the same. Today I get my yearly reveiw, and I know I will be told that we are not getting raises this year. That is ok, have gone through this type of thing before.;) I think ER went on a little longer than it should have, so I'm glad they ended it well. To bad they had to make you cry though! Did you receive your new DB's?

Hope Jeanette and Kim are doing well on this Friday!

Laurie

Well, DH couldn't get away from work so I'm home all day. Life's tough:D So I did CF today - the Mixed Cardio premix which is basically the 6 drills from DM. Tough. Then I did my neck and shoulder drills and then the Med Ball w/o from STS Abs.

Tomorrow is my rest day and I'm scheduled for a mani/pedicure and going to a Tupperware party. I love their stuff but hard to find something no too expensive.

Laurie - nope, no new DB yet. They're on backorder. The CS person told me to be pretty tough then on trying to detach the DB from its base so I did finally get it detached and have been using it but I have not cancelled the replacement incase this one locks up again on me.

Have a great day all.

Woke up to snow this a.m. and it hasn't stopped:confused: Oh well. Went to my mani/pedicure then spent some $$ at a Tupperware party. DH returned DB's ATV to him today to make room for the riding lawn mower to be brought out of storage. Made a new chicken recipe from my Pamered Chef cook-book that was so easy and tasted really good so I think I'll be making it again. Healthy too which is a bonus.:D

Today was my rest day and tomorrow Disc 1B is scheduled.

Nighty night Coolers

Hi Coolers,
Just sitting down finally. Let's see, yesterday's workout was CTX (Cross Train Express) 10-10-10, then the abs from CTX Power Circuits. Today's workout was STS Disk 11B (Back & Triceps). Afterwards, did yardwork and then headed to the golf course to practice and play 9 holes. DH is outside BBQing some hamburgers.

Patricia, Wow, you are on 1B already! Hope you are enjoying them. I tend to hit pause and not struggle with getting everything ready in time, especially with my barbell that has a nut that threads on and takes some time. Darn on the snow. We had some light flurries the other day, but nothing that stuck. Good for you making a new recipe. I'm letting my DH cook tonite, but what else is new? He made a good chicken soup yesterday.

Laurie, I'm sure your review was good yesterday. Dang on no bonuses, but I guess in these times we are all happy just to have jobs. Nice to hear that your Mom is happy with her progress. I remember my Grandma saying she wished she'd had her hip replacement sooner as it was so successful and she was finally out of pain.

Hope Kim is enjoying her time in Vegas. Maybe she's raking in her chips right now!

Have a bike ride and birthday party for my Dad tomorrow afternoon. I'm making a berry cobbler.

Morning All

Going to see if I can work up some morning energy to get Disc 1B in. I feel like my w/o "hangs" over my head all day until I get in on weekends:p Nothing else much planned for today. It got cold last night so the roads look all icy so will wait until the afternoon to get out and do grocery shopping. I'm using Cathe's Nutrition software and find it really helps to track my calories and learn more about portion sizes. Who would have believed even 1/2c of raisins had so much calories and I just binge on those most nights:D:rolleyes:

Jeanette - almost to your recovery week. It does seem the weeks are just flying by. To bad our days off couldn't just slow to a crawl:p Berry Cobbler, yum yum. Its got fruit and fiber in it so its got to be good for you and if made from scratch - isn't that still clean eating???:D

Laurie - the material looks like a royal purple??? and plush? Looks lovely.

Okay, off to get into my excercise clothes.

Back from Vegas. We had fun! It's kind of a overwhelming place:cool::cool: I'm such a early morning place and vegas is not. :p We ate at lots of nice places, walked for miles, played the slots (I made $8 on the penny slots ),sat by the pool, and shopped. Decided not to see any of the shows, no one I wanted to see bad enough to spend $100/person on.

It was just neat to see the place. I was there once before (1984) and DH had never been there. I had major DOMS in my legs the day I went, then we walked so much, I had such SORE legs!!! I think they were more sore than after I ran the full marathon.

The strip is elegant, tacky, sleazy all at the same time:D and so crowded!!!

Gotta get back on track with the eating now! Kim

Morning!

Today was Back, Chest, Legs & Abs plus 25 min of jumprope.

Didn't have enough time yesterday to get back to chat. We had to go to DH's brothers house to celebrate Easter with his family. Then the girls wanted to spend their gift cards at Kohl's. It was funny to watch the 12 year old in the Junior department. She was having fun. :)

Patricia, I have not been to a Tuperware party in ages. I need to replace some of my bowls. I have that same feeling on the weekends if I don't get my workout done right away. The dress is actually blue with a maroon background. But the combination tends toward purple. We actually can't wear purple, because that is the color designated for the Queen. But this fabric was approved by three people, so I'm going with it.

Jeanette, I can't wait for the weather to warm up more, so we can use the grill again. It just is to dang cold out to stand waiting for a burger to cook. :D You are right, I am happy that I have a job. The raise would have been nice, but we will get by.

Kim, Glad you had a good time in Vegas. My DH is heading out there next week. Wish I could go with him, but I guess that will have to weight until our kids are out of school. ;)

Laurie

Good Tues morning Coolers

Well, DS was generous enough to share his cold with me and it's taken the life out of me:D I could feel something coming on Sun. afternoon and by Mon. a.m. I could hardly move my body is so SORE from head to toe. Still had to get up and go work espcially with missing most of last week and I have some deadlines to meet this week. So, I guess I'm taking a recovery week already:( I'll play it by ear and just may wait until Sun. to start Week 2 up again.

Kim - you're not kidding about the walking in LV. I had no idea how long the strip was when I left my hotel for a walk. I"ve only been once for a wedding of friends. Vegas didn't make any $$ off of me at the tables but they did at the stores:D

Laurie - dragging out Easter I see. DS started learning about it again at pre-school on Monday and he keeps asking when the bunny is coming:D I keep telling him on Sun and he just doesn't get it.

Jeanette - did you take your usualy Monday off?

Morning!

Todays workout was 30 min TM with incline, and some stretching.

Patricia, So does your DS ask about the bunny everyday?:D That is what my DD's used to do.;) I asked them if they wanted candy for easter, and the oldest one said no. I still might go get something for her. How can you have Easter without some Reeses PB Eggs!

Kim, Have your legs recovered from all the walking? :)

Jeanette, How are you doing busy lady? ;)

Laurie

Laurie - DS has been eating those little foiled wrapped choclate easter eggs for the last month. It became his treat every time he pooped on the toilet. :p This last week or so I've been eating 1-2 a night with 1/2cup of raisins. I take a bite of the egg then some raisins and it feels like I'm eating Glossette raisins but with a lot less calories (I hope).

Note to self - have to restock up b/4 the weekend.:D

Boy, did Vegas wipe me out. Yesterday I was just dragging all day and then had to take dd to piano. Had a good sleep last night and felt much better today, super busy day at work as one therapist sick and another one on holidays. Going to relax and watch TBL tonight then hopefully get back to working out tomorrow. Starting Meso2 on Thursday!

Laurie You're starting Easter early! Get the kid's some candy, I'm sure they really want some.;) You can always eat it if they don't. I'll have to go check out your pics afterwards.

Patricia Sorry, you've got the cold now. My coworker who is never sick actually called in today, I couldn't believe it!

Netta Are you on your recovery week yet? Hope you got your bike ride in on Sunday!
Kim

Hi Coolers,
Yesterday was my rest day (of course ;)). Today was finally STS Disk 12B Legs. I swear it's taken me forever to finish. I'll start Meso 2 next Tuesday. Yesterday was golf after work (rode in a cart) with the fella I played with last week. Beat him again, so he was disgusted. It's just a silly game, I told him. However, when he scored higher than me for a couple games this last winter, he sure rubbed it in. Guys hate to be outdone by girls. I was going to ride my bike tonite, but it was very windy out and I was tired. I rode the couch instead. Tomorrow will be a cardio and abs.

Patricia, sorry you have a cold. I still have a little phlegm from my cold/allergy. Mmmmm, chocolate wrapped eggs. I can't even bring them into the house. So raisins have calories ? I tend to eat too many of those when they are in the house too. I won't even buy peanut butter as 2 tbs. leads to 4 or more...love the stuff. Years ago, I gained a TON of weight eating peanut butter and honey on tortillas on a frequent basis. That was before I got married. I was working in a sawmill and doing lots of physical work, but eating more calories than I burned off. You should have seen how big my butt got :eek::eek:!

Kim, glad you had a good time in Vegas. I'm anxious to see how you like Meso 2. Some people really like that type of lifting. I'll like more rests for sure. I need to check out the workout cards and see if I need to buy more DB's. I bought a new non-burst stability ball and some wrist weights. It's a smaller ball and doesn't have little hard bumps all over it like my old one. I'd have to be really careful with the preacher curls so I didn't run an elbow into the bumps.

Laurie, I'm taking a furlough day on Friday and think I will hit Kohl's for some clothes. I really need some new stuff. I want to find some shorts and things too for golf. Hey, you go girl, wear that purple proudly! You could be the next queen! Is your queen the old one or new one? When will the dress be finished?

Tomorrow is a tax appointment in the afternoon, then sewing in the evening at my Mom's. I'll be finishing up my wall hanging, hopefully.

Morning!

Todays workout will be the step mill, and core work at the gym.

Patricia, I love rasins and chocolate, oh wait! I LOVE chocolate! My most fav is dark chocolate covered almonds or peanuts! :D I need to stop talking about that wonderful treat! :D Hope you start feeling better soon.

Kim, Yep, I'm getting them some candy. We are going to my sisters on Saturday, and we will be having an egg hunt. So I'm getting some candy for that, and then I'm going to have DH hide those baskets good. :D

Jeanette, Thanks i will wear the purple with pride. I'm actually wearing purple today! LOL! I look good in purple! :D Glad you are finished with Meso1. How did you enjoy the endurance workouts? I'm taking off work Thurs & Frid, so I will have a nice long weekend.

Laurie

Wow, Laurie, I was just looking at the pics of your dress what amazing detail! Is that all needlepoint?

I did Disc 13 today, I think I'm going to really enjoy Meso 2! I'm interested to see how much doms I have tomorrow, didn't have too much during meso 1.

Jeanette Enjoy your recovery week! Rolling eyes at your golf partner, whatever, it's just a game.

Talking about chocolate, a coworker gave me a box of Laura Second chocolates today, yummy! It was a thank you gift because I helped her plan her Disney vacation as we go every year. They got back today and had an amazing trip! Also got a little raise today, I'm in a big union so everyone got it. Yesterday a patient bought me some homemade honey so lots of little treats.

Hope you're feeling okay patricia!

Kim

Morning,
Today was the step only from Low Max. I pulled an upper back muscle somehow doing Imax3. Can't even tell you that I did something wrong, just wasn't aligned or something. The impact bothered it so I shorted that workout. Today's Lowmax was just right. That step only is a great little workout, not too complicated or with any dread. Tonite is a possible bike ride if the weather allows. Not looking good right now. Last night was sewing, had fun with Mom and sister.

Laurie, I love purple too. The endurance workouts were good, but I'm looking forward to less equipment changes, though the variety kept my mind occupied.

Kim, woohoo on the raise and candy!!! Can't get any better than that! So Disk 13 was a goodie? I'll be starting next Tuesday.

Patricia, hope you are getting lots of rest. I think I still have an allergy going as the Clarinex seems to help a lot. I notice it big time when I don't take it.

Afternoon Coolers:

Between DS and me lately, we've taken so much Advil I should go out and buy some of their stock and maybe earn some $$ back:eek: Anyhow, starting to feel human but no where near ready for even a light workout. Will just wait until Sun I think before even trying one. I guess I'll re-do Disc #1 and call it Disc1C :D:)

Kim - great news on the raise. Have you finished the chocolate yet?:D I've been very good and skipped my Fri. morning donuts at work for the past 2 weeks. How did you find the rest periods in Meso 2? I see where some people want to rush them but I'm no expert so I'll do what Cathe says:D

Jeanette - Ouch on the back. I was reading a comparison of Imax 2 & 3 the other day and 3 sounds like a lot more impact. I'd already decided I wouldn't be using my 20% discount on buying #3. I guess this is the best week to "pull" something. Lots of time to stretch and recover before Meso 2 next week. I know what you mean about allergies it just hasn't been warm enough here for that. Snow ALL week :( Reactine is another one I should own stock in:D

Laurie - all this talk about candy is making me hungry. I didn't bring enough to eat at work today and the vendying machine is looking awfully good right now. Only 1hr more to go before quitting time. Resist, resist. I used to love the Step Mill at the gym. For some reason I never found that boring the way the bike and steppers are. I found people rarely used it, maybe b/c it's harder? A co-worker used to always train on it for preparation in walking up the CN Tower.

Busy weekend coming up. My sister and her hubby are coming for the weekend (his family lives near me) and my parents are coming too. We're going to a maple syrup forest on Fri. afternoon then on Sat. afternoon to the YMCA for a Easter Egg Hunt. Of course will have to hide eggs on Sunday too! I figured I could just hide whatever DS gets on Sat:D Am I cheap or what? Just trying to keep the amount of choclate down. Who knows what my parents and sister will bring with them to give to DS also?

DS's pre-school is closed on Monday so now have to scramble for a sitter or make DH stay home. I'd love to but I'm probably pushing it with taking off so much time lately as it is - and they haven't asked for any vacation days to be used up.;)

Anyhow, Survivor on tonight - yippee

Did the timesaver premix from BM2 after work, now relaxing and going to watch The Office and that new show Parks/Rec. Maybe Ill tape Survivor but having a hard time getting into Survivor this time around.
I do have some DOMS in my shoulders and triceps from Disc 13.

Patricia LOL on rehiding the easter eggs. The kids get way too much chocolate so do it before he's old enough to notice. My ds is turning 12 tomorrow! My mom has him out for supper and birthday shopping this evening. Enjoy your busy weekend with your company. I'm in the opposite situation as you, I get Easter monday off and the kids have school! I would babysit for you if I could!

Jeannette I think you will like Meso 2! I like the slower pace so not such crazy equipment changes and less reps. Isn't Low Max only step? Hope the sore back is gone soon!

We might go sandbagging in the morning, the city seems to be in a panic state now about possible flooding. DH calls the 6pm news the daily flood report, for a month now, it's the only thing in the media, I'm so sick of it. This weekend the river crests in our city. I'm glad we went to Vegas when we did, the highways to the USA have now been closed as they are underwater  In some ways, I don't have much sympathy for the houses along the river, it's a dumb place to build a house!

Kim

DS came home from birthday shopping with his Grandma, they went to a sport store (among others:rolleyes:) and he bought running clothes so he could run with me. What a sweetie!
