STS BODYROCKERS MONTH OF JANUARY

Good Morning Glories. :)

Total rest day for me today and I'm thinking of yoga only tmrw with a return to my rotation on Thursday!

Heading out this morning around 9:30 to go shoping with my mom. DH and I booked a Vegas trip over our 10 Year Anniversary weekend in March and we plan to renew our Wedding Vows so I need a dress. :) Not sure I will actually purchase something today as I'd like to take off a few pounds first but I can atleast get a feel for what's out there. I still have my wedding dress which I adore. It still fits and I would LOVE to wear it but it needs to be cleaned which will probably be costly and will be a PITA to travel with so I'm not sure it's worth it...Another reason to go shopping early b/c if I don't see anything I like I will definitely reconsider the original dress instead!

Wiggie:: Great job on your work outs! You kick butt!!! :) I am going as deep as I can with my lunges too since I am using light weights. So which 100 repper will you try first? I am going to do the thrusters again on Thursday I think. ;) I have pondered purchasing Pump lately but with all of the new stuff I have I hardly need it right now....:rolleyes: I never wanted it but b/c I am so in love with Combat and Pump is another LM program, I have to think I would enjoy that too! Maybe I will ask for it for my Birthday! :D

Hi ladies!

This morning I did Disc 15 (back and biceps). Because I did deadlifts yesterday I skipped those today and substituted Supermans with the tubing/firewalker band - like Cathe does in the newest XTrain Burn Sets workout. I also upped the reps - 3 sets of 20 reps.

My lower body is sooooo sore this morning. I've got DOMS in almost every part of my lower body - booty, inner thigh, quads, hamstrings. Those dang trisets get me every time.


Wiggie: I hear ya re: not losing weight with STS and needing a break. I don't lose weight either, which is why I like to do it in the fall/winter months when i'm not showing as much skin. ;) I'm considering skipping Meso 3 and substituting a 30 day XTrain rotation instead. I'm really not interested in "strength" right now and would rather focus on hypertrophy. But we shall see. :) You're going to drop those few pounds in no time! I've really got to save up a little money and buy Combat....

Wendy: Yay on the Vegas trip!!!! That's so freaking exciting. :D and congrats on (almost) ten years. In this day and age that's very impressive. Have fun shopping today!! If you decide to do an XTrain rotation let me know! As I was prattling on to Wiggie, i'm thinking of doing a 30 day XTrain rotation, but probably won't start until mid-February or March. Supercuts is scheduled for Thursday and I promise to give you a detailed review. :p;)
 
Wendy: Happy (almost) Anniversary!!!! & ditto on what Katie said that is impressive!! So excited about you renewing your vows in Vegas, sooo romantic. I am equally impressed that you can fit your wedding dress, that doesn't happen everyday!!:p I will join you for the thrusters on Thursday. Anything lower body I'm in! Good luck on your shopping trip. I didn't get Xtrain since I bought Pump & have so many dvds. I am going to revisit the ones I have, & the ones I don't use any more I'm going to try & sell.

Wiggie:: Forewarning you that I am changing my plan for Wed and Thurs because I now have more shopping plans with my mom for Thursday! :) That said though, I will be doing my hip thruster challenge one of those days...just not sure which one now but please feel free to do it when you are able! Just wanted you to know! See ya at the "gym" tmrw! :cool:

So anyway, we went to a local mall today and got through most of it before I had to head back to pick my son up from school. I tried quite a few things on and found some style possibilities but nothing fit well enough for a purchase. I do however, have a very good idea of what I'd like to look for now though so we are headed back out on the hunt on Thursday! :D

No workout for me today. I was feeling exhausted (STS 3 days in a row, not getting enough sleep, etc.) so I took this morning off. And boy am I glad I did!! :) My body needed the break, and i'll be ready to hit it hard tomorrow with SUPERCUTS! :eek::eek::eek:

Wendy: Sounds like you had a fun shopping experience! :) And you get to go back tomorrow. Bonus! ;) Is today a yoga day or a workout day now? Either way, kick some bootay! :D

Wiggie: Great idea to get sell unused workout DVDs. For some reason, I never think of this as an option, LOL! But it makes sense because you not only clean out your DVD area but also have money to buy new workouts. Score! :)

Thanks for the anniversary wishes ladies! :D

Remember at the end of last year in the fall when I was having a really rough time? Well my marriage was falling apart. We were seriously on the verge of divorce! DH had moved out and everything! :( Thankfully we some how got through it and saved our marriage. This certainly makes this Anniversary EXTRA special and the reason behind the Vegas trip and renewing our vows. :)

Today's work out was not only off from my original plan but also off the Combat rotation too! LOL

The Combat rotation plan called for Power HiiT and Combat stretch.

My plan was to do yoga only today and return to the Combat rotation of Power HiiT and the stretch plus hip thrusters and lunges tmrw.

Well, what I ended up doing was the 100 hip thrusters (upped weight load to 25#)....125 walking lunges (25@5#dbs, 25@8#dbs, 25@10#dbs and then for the final 50 I switched up the weights after every 5 reps)....Combat's Lower Body Lean Out....and a 30 min yoga practice called Calm Down Dog.

Now I have no clue what I will do tmrw! :p:D

Katie:: Enjoy your rest day! You certainly deserve it! Is your lower body still talkin' to ya?? DOMS in the lower body can be painful but man oh man, intense upper body DOMS is far worse IMO! I'm not sure what it is about it but it makes me feel sick-like I'm running a fever or something!:confused: Oh and btw, I was soooooo tempted to try Supercuts today! You have no idea!!!!!

Wiggie:: I think you will be needing to buy XTrain once you unload some of the dvds you no longer use/want!;)

Ok, I'm starving now! Need lunch! TTYL!:cool:

Tuesday's workout was Plyo HIIT & Kickstart, in that order. I legs felt like they were going to fail, it was so hard to do all those kicks in kickstart, but I made it, (barely:p).

Wendy: I am so happy for you & DH, I felt like you were going through something really heavy back then. I am so proud of how you kept it together. You deserve every bit of happiness coming your way. Re the dvds I want to sell, I was thinking the same thing! :D Enjoy your shopping, from the looks of that workout you should be exhausted!!

Katie: Enjoy your rest day!! Those STS workouts will really wear you out when you have the right weight!

Wednesday's workout was Pump Extreme, I think this one is my fave!! Good music & weights, doesn't get any better!! I will be doing high rep or total body weight workouts for the rest of the month, then I might continue STS.

Today was my WW weigh in day and I'm down almost 2# in the first week! YAY! :D

Today's work out will be Combat Kickstart and Core Attack plus my lunges ofcourse! I am feeling my obliques today so Core Attack should be fun :eek: and tmrw's ab DOMS should be even funner!:p LMAO!

Gotta be outta here no later then 10:15am to head to my mom's to go shopping so I need to start my work out by 8:30 at the latest. Going to try to power chug one more cup of coffee by then! ;)

Wiggie:: Excellent job with Plyo HiiT AND Kickstart back to back as well as with Pump Extreme! :D Thanks re me and DH. It was a long hard messed up road but we made it through and now we are happier then we've ever been! :)

K, I need to move my azz or I'll never be ready to leave in time!:rolleyes:

Morning!

Today's workout was Super Cuts! I've been super excited to try this workout, and it lived up to (almost) all my expectations. It was so.much.fun. Cathe incudes a little bit of everything, and doesn't repeat exercises so the workout flies by. I only wish it was a wee bit longer (it runs 45 mins). There is an option to add on core, which would bring the workout closer to 55-56 minutes. I originally planned to do that today, but the workout itself includes several core exercises, so instead I added on the STS Extended Stretch.

Wendy: YAY for the weight loss!! That's super exciting. I'm down a pound or so too. We're doing great! :D;) I'm sorry to hear about your marriage struggles but thrilled about the ultimate resolution thereof! :) Marriage is so stinking tough. My DH and I are going through a rough patch at the moment, so I (kinda) understand what you went through last fall. It sounds like the Vegas trip is much needed for you and your DH, plus it will be extra special and loads of fun. :) My lower body is STILL talking to me! Dang those trisets.... ;) BTW, i've "officially" decided to buy Combat. I get paid on 1/15, so that's the day. :eek::eek::eek:

Wiggie: Great job with Pump Extreme! Doing a workout you love makes such a big difference when it comes to working out. How are you legs feeling this morning? Still a little jello-ish? ;):p Yes, STS workouts do wear me out, especially when I do 2-3 in a row...which I probably should quit doing, LOL! :rolleyes::eek:

We are all on the right track, I'm down a pound too!! As far as WW I'm still good since I went a little below goal to give me some wiggle room. :p

At WW last month I got a really good chili recipe that is only 2 points per 1 cup serving. I've made it twice & DH loves it!!

1 pound ground white turkey(I cook it in a frying pan & crumble it with a fork)
2 cans tomatoes
2 cans beans of your choice
1 can corn
1 pack taco seasoning
1 pack dry ranch dressing
put it in a pot & let it simmer, I always put it in a crock pot.

I always add 1 large onion, 1 large bell pepper, crushed red pepper & sweetner to taste.

Well, my shopping trip was a success! Now I just need to find shoes, a purse and jewels to match! :D

Wow, my upper body is sore! I didn't realize it until I tried to do this morning's work out with weighted gloves on! That didn't last very long! :eek: Tmrw is supposed to be Combat 45 but if my u/b is still hurtin' I think I will give it a break by subbing in either Shock Plyo HiiT or Lower Body Lean Out. Time will tell! Either way I'm sure to get an awesome work out! ;)

Wiggie:: The chili sounds delish! I've a made a few healthy or healier versions of chili and I've loved them all so I'm sure I'll love this one too! Thanks! Smart thinkin' to go a bit below goal on WW!:) I was once there as well. It's nice to have that room but I blew that a looong time ago! LOL I think I set my WW goal too low to have wiggle room. Need to up it a couple of pounds in order to be able to wiggle. :p Hey! Is name you Wiggie because you WIGGLE? ;):D

Katie:: Yay! I knew Supercuts would be a goody! REALLY can't wait to try it now! Going to try to make it happen SOON! :D Congrats on your weight loss as well! We all rock! ;) Sooo excited that you've decided to order Combat sooner rather then later! Which pkg will you get?? Sore(r) abs and still sore u/b here! Going to add on a day to the rotation this week and insert a lower body focused w/o today to give the u/b a break. I will continue on with the rotation as written tmrw. Would love to get in some yoga today as well! :)

Katie:: I forgot to mention y'day that it was my first time doing Combat Core Attack and it was KILLER! You are gonna love it! ;)

Just finished doing my Yoga Beauty Body dvd (about 60 mins-kundalini yoga). Not sure if I will do anything else today...feeling tired on top of sore. I'm going to eat some lunch and see if I'm up to anything else in a bit...

I am FINALLY awaiting the delivery of my new cell phone!:rolleyes: It's coming today!:D And not without a struggle!:mad:

Thursday's workout was Step 2 Success & STS Extended Stretch. I love that step workout but it's weird that after the last combo she comes back & says that's the end, no stretch or anything, just ends it.

Wendy: Is that why I'm called Wiggie?, you are so crazy!:eek: That nickname came about because of my maiden name, but it kinda fits!!:p You've really been hitting it extra hard lately, I guess it's to make sure that sexy dress you picked out hugs in all the right places!! Very nice dress by the way, I know you'll pick some great accessories. I agree with your opinion of the other one. Did the yoga help with the soreness? I have not been doing my yoga lately, I have got to work on that!! Hope your new cell comes soon. How did you order the extra combat dvds? I didn't see that option. I remember you posting your weight a while back & it's waaay lower than mine. Did you set your own weight goal or is it the one WW suggests?

Well yoga was all I ended up doing y'day. I had decided I kinda wanted to do something else but ended up running out of time....TBH, it was probably for the best. I feel better today and am ready to hit it hard again! ;)

Combat 45 is next on the rotation along with my lunges. Anything else I may do will be decided when I am ready to work out.

Wiggie:: Are you a team beachbody member? That's where you find the bonus Combat discs. I had to ask someone too as they are not on the regular BB site anywhere that I had seen either. I don't know why. Stupid if you ask me. :rolleyes: Anyway, if you aren't, you can sign up for free and then you can order the Combat discs. :) LOL, yes, some people would agree that I am crazy for sure! Yep I guess the yoga helped b/c I am not sore anymore! I picked my goal weight on WW...it was within the range that they had suggested for my height. The lowest weight was TOO LOW though. I'd look sick. Unfortunately I got dangerously close to it when DH and I were having problems. :( Oh I hate work outs that don't include stretching. So annoying!:mad:

Hi beauties!! :)

Yesterday's workout was Tabatacise: Level 5 + Core 2. Wow, it was tough!! But an excellent cardio workout. I was breathing hard after the first tabata. Cathe adds a "recovery blast" between each tabata...they were hard! Think power 15s, ricochets, etc. I thought this workout might have a dread factor, but it really didn't. Two thumbs up!

Today's workout was a duo. I went with a good friend of mine to a hot yoga class at a studio in a nearby town. It was my first live yoga class, and the instructor (who was very nice) helped me correct my form on a few moves. Because I workout at home in my living room I don't have access to a mirror and often wonder about my form (with both yoga and lifting). It was about 90 degrees in the yoga room and I sweated buckets. I don't think i'll go every weekend to the hot yoga class but I might try to attend 1-2 times a both, just to change up my routine. After class my friend and I enjoyed a lovely brunch and a little shopping. When I got home this afternoon I did Disc 16 (chest, shoulders and triceps). I was still in my yoga attire so I figured why not. :p;) I used my new barbell and it made a big difference, especially during the chest segment.

Wendy: Your dress is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see pictures of you wearing it in Vegas. :) I think i'm going to get the cheapest Combat package. I'd love to get the "deluxe" set but money is a little tight at the moment. My plan is to buy the extra DVDs in a few weeks. Smart to listen to your body and just stick with yoga yesterday. ;) Are you liking your new phone? I know it's been a struggle to get the dang thing. Now go kick some Combat butt. :D

Wiggie: Excellent workout yesterday! But no stretch? That’s frustrating! The stretch is my favorite part of the workout usually, lol. Your chili recipe sounds yummy! I’m going to make that this week on Tuesday (I need a crockpot recipe for that day). I think I’m going to try hamburger though instead of ground turkey. I’m a weirdo who is not a fan of ground turkey. It’s 70 degrees here today too but rainy. Boo! I hope you’re soaking up as much sunshine as possible. :)

Y'day's work out was Hard Strikes up to but not including the first interval (about 20 mins-just had to try it!), Core #2, Combat 45 and 60 weighted walking lunges-10 reps w/5#dbs, 10 reps w/8#dbs, 10 reps w/10#dbs, 10 reps w/12#dbs and 20 reps w/15#dbs.

Not sure what today will bring...possibly a total rest day but not sure yet!

Katie:: IDT I would ever even TRY a hot yoga class even as much as I like yoga b/c sweating from exerting myself is one thing but sweating before you even start a work out b/c the room is uncomfortably hot would drive me CRAZY!!!!! Great job though! Glad you enjoyed it! :) I think you have a fab plan for Combat! It allows you to buy it sooner! Great thinkin'! ;) TY re the dress! :)
