Strength in Numbers

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was my rest day and it was a mostly lazy day other than some cooking. This morning was XTrain 1 Chest, back, and shoulders. Now I have some work to do around the house and some errands to run. Have a great day!

Cheryl Great job on getting housework done and on LM&R FTB! Glad you had more energy sometimes taking a day off from working out can help with that. Hopefully you figured out something fun to do inside since it was raining.

Pam Great job on your bike ride, LBB, ICE CUB + Icy Core 2, and XT CBS! I bet after 3 months of no bike ride it was hard. I imagine your quads were pretty loud about being sore.

Well this weekend I did not get good sleep at all. I think I am having some anxiety issues. I can fall asleep but I wake up in the middle of the night with all kinds of thoughts and can't shut my brain back off. I did get my lower body workout on Friday and mobility on Saturday as well as some cleaning. Sunday I did 2 awful sets of bench press and then my mom called. We talked for about 25 minutes and she was crying and saying some things that had me concerned. I ended up deciding not to work out and called my sister since they live together to figure out what was going on. We think my mom may be showing signs of dementia or some mental health crisis. She has been lashing out, making inappropriate comments, showing signs of paranoia, wide mood swings, and has been fixated on her childhood trauma. My sister talked to her about some of her behaviors and she said she doesn't even remember saying or doing those things. She is also very stubborn and so far hasn't been very receptive to seeing a therapist or doctor to even finding out what might be going on. She has always been somewhat mean to my dad but in the last several years it has gotten worse to the point my dad said he is thinking about divorcing her after 48 years of marriage. So of course I got horrible sleep again last night. I asked my sister to keep me in the loop daily if she can on how mom is doing and I will try to help plant the seed with mom that maybe talking to a doctor about memory lapses would be good.

Saturday I went for a long walk. Sunday I took as a day off and since it is Thanksgiving here I made dinner and had our friend over since his family were away. This morning was LITE Pyramid Upper Body. I will probably get out for a walk in the afternoon since it is sunny but cool out.

I actually got good sleep last night. I hate to jinx myself and not get again but it was so nice not waking up in the middle night and not being able to go back to sleep. I actually felt like I had some energy this morning. I did my lower body workout per usual.

Julie Oh, that sounds terrible what you are going through with your mom. It sounds very familiar to me as it’s a lot like what was happening with my mom when her dementia was first starting to show. I took her to a neurologist for tests (she was very mad and didn’t want to go) and I was there for the tests that he did. It was really shocking how badly she failed simple memory tests. There are some medications that help some people, but unfortunately my mom wasn’t one of them. I’m so sorry you are dealing with that, it is such a difficult situation. Great job on your lower body workout and mobility workout and getting some of your workout in on Sunday.

This morning was XTrain legs. I know I will be feeling my glutes tomorrow with those dixie cup lunges. I think I may brave Costco today as I have a couple of other errands to run. Wish me luck!

Julie Sorry I don't know how I missed your post about your mom. My mom showed some signs of dementia but not to that extent. I am so sorry that you are going through that, it is very difficult especially when they are not aware of what they are doing or saying. That is great that you got a good nights sleep, that does help with dealing with stressful situations. It is a good thing that your sister is there to help your dad deal with this. Good work on your lower body workout.

Yesterday I went out for a walk in the afternoon and it was a very nice day. I will do the same today since it is still nice out, but it did get down to freezing overnight so it is getting colder here. This morning I did LITE Rev'd Up Rumble + 6 Pack Abs 1. Now I need to get a few things done here.

Cheryl Great job on your walk and LITE RUR + 6 pack abs 1! Oh no freezing already. I'm glad your mom's signs weren't that bad. It breaks my heart thinking about what they are going through.

I got decent sleep last night but my muscles were just not having it with trying to lift weights today. The same weight I did last week felt so heavy today. It is getting close to that time of the month so I am thinking that is impacting my strength.

Julie Great job on your workout. It can be so frustrating on those weak days. I would think that both the stress and the time of the month probably are playing a part.

This morning was Rhythmic Step and the abs from Step, Jump, and Pump. It’s supposed to be 76 today so I need to try to get outside and enjoy it. Have a great day!

This morning was LITE Pyramid Lower Body. Then I went and got some groceries. Now I am going to go for a short walk before I need to head to the SPCA to help out. Then I have a mammogram appointment later tonight.

Cheryl Great job on ITE PLB! I probably should have just stopped trying to lift weights but I am still stubborn.

This morning was my sleep in day and I did get better sleep. I started yesterday and I think my body breathed a sigh of relief and was able to sleep. I feel left out, my mammogram isn't for another month.

My mammogram went well. It was very fast so I was in and out in no time. This morning I did some Pilates/yoga. Now I need to get some things done around here.

Friday I did my lower body workout and then some chores before taking Gunner to the vet for his chiro appointment. Saturday was my mobility day and then DH and I had errands to run. Sunday was upper body day and today was my sleep in day. I have a busy day of meetings today so maybe the work day will go fast.

Friday DH and I went for a bike ride. It was a bit better than the last time we went, but was still hard. Saturday morning was P30 LII Hiit and LM&R Function Core. Then we went to the beach for the afternoon and night with some friends and to visit our niece (she is married to their son). We stayed and had brunch yesterday morning and got home in the afternoon, I was pretty much lazy after that. This morning was STS Total body. I hadn’t done that one in awhile and it was really hard. Now I need to get the house cleaning done. Have a great day!

Saturday I went for a walk before it really started raining. Sunday I did Yoga Relax and then went to the farmers market. This morning was STS 2 Upper Body 1 and then I met up with a friend for a walk and then coffee.

This morning was my lower body day. The app I use to track my weight sessions started including the number of pumpkins I lifted during the session. Today I lift 1510 pumpkins.

This morning was Body Max step and power circuits. It was tough and I had to pause it for a bit before starting into the last power circuit. I don’t know how they do it on an 8 inch step, I always use 6” and it’s plenty hard. Have a great day!
