Step moves ?

Hello,
Will I ever be able to actually get all of the step moves to IMAX 2? I thought I was some what coordinated. I don't know what it is. I can follow all Firm videos with or without a step.
What suggestions do you have for me. Is there a beginner step tape that has most of Cathe's step moves that would help me?
Thank you,
Beth

Danielle - that is so cute! Very helpful, thanks for the link. ;-)

Oh, I think it's soooooo helpful and does make sense. I learned all these moves from this website. Especially, horseshoe and around the world. These cute diagrams definitely helped me.

Danielle :)

Ok, how do you learn the steps from the little animations? isn't that going to be difficult too?

I'm having troubles too, and I could definitely use help!!

Oh Beth, I understand. Starting out with IMAX2--for a person unfamiliar with Cathe's choreography---would be tough. Here's how a klutz like me did it: I started with Step Heat and Mega Step Blast and then learned Cathe's tapes in "chronological" order, starting oldest to newest. I've found that Cathe uses and builds upon moves--for example, regular horseshoe to horsehoe with arms (Step Heat) becomes a power horseshoe (Step Jam). She also introduced that shuffle down the step move in one of the cooldowns (Step Fit), as well as the rockhorse shoot over the step (I hope I'm not confusing you).
My ability to catch on to her choreography evolved as I progressed through her cataloge. But it didn't happen in a day.
I also previewed tapes like crazy and really concentrated on the moves to the point that I wrote down the steps. Then I would mentally review them a few times before doing the tape.
Be patient---you WILL catch on. Break down each section and practice, practice, practice. Remember, you have that rewind button for a good reason. suzanne

I started with Mega Step Blast (that was all the library had at the time). I previewed it a couple of times and took the moves that I knew I would have trouble with and practiced them on the floor, rewinding until they made sense.

Step Heat and Step Max are both a good introduction to Cathe's choreography. Sometimes it just takes getting used to a new instructor's way of queueing things. Whenever I go back to the FIRM on occasion, I often get confused at the start just because the terminology is so different.

Good luck and hang in there! Once you get the choreography, it is unbelievable fun, sometimes just because you're saying to yourself, "I can't believe I'm doing this!"
