OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just finished it !!!!!!!!!!!! I kept wanting to sing along with the songs!! LOL!! What an INCREDIBLE workout!!! I LOVE the music!! SO motivating, but it's really challenging to do high impact and sing at the same time - LOL!!
I just have to share this with all of you. When I fell four and a half years ago and tore two ligaments in my left knee (medial collateral and posterior cruciate), they found arthritic changes in both knees when they did comparative x-rays. It's hereditary from my mother's side. Well ... I was still quite overweight all those years ago, and thankfully I didn't need surgery. I did however wear one of those moveable leg braces to work for six months. I'm an RN and I work in ICU. It was not easy or fun. I modified my Firm workouts and rehabbed my knee, and in six months my orthopedic doc was impressed with my progress. I have complete range of motion in the knee again, but until I started doing Cathe a little over three months ago, I had convinced myself that I was too "old" and "my knees, you know ..." to do anything high impact ever again. It's amazing how that negative self talk can affect us.
Well ... I'm here to tell you that today, November 6, 2003, not only did I do Step, Jump & Pump all the way through with only a couple of brief stretching and water breaks, but I DID THE HIGH IMPACT SEGMENTS!!! NO modifications!! And, I was singing through most of them - LOL!! I mean, how could you not??? I'm almost in tears. I know some of you will think I'm nuts, but you just don't understand what this means to me. One year ago I had lost 22 pounds on Atkins, but was on the verge of going off it. It was too hard for me to eat that way 24/7, and the holidays were right around the corner. I never believed I would ever get this weight off. I never believed I could do fun and challenging workouts again. I even stopped working out until I started WW at the end of April of this year. I can't explain what being able to do this means to me. I'm in the same size I was in college. For the first time SINCE college. I graduated in 1981 from Kent State. That's a long time to believe I would never again be thin, or be able to do high impact, which to me is SUPER FUN! I will be smiling today the entire day!! I can really feel those endorphins right now - LOL!!
Okay ... I'm done rambling. I just had to share this!! THANK YOU CATHE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thank you to all of YOU, for being here, and caring about your fitness goals and your bodies and your health, and for sharing all your valuable tips and information with me!!
