Some substitutions for August rotation.

Yeah! Cathe has put the August rotation up and as usual it looks like a really good one. I need some help, though, I still haven't gotten some of these videos so if somebody has some suggestions for a few substitutions I REALLY appreciate it. Here they are:

I don't have:

Pymramid Lower Body (parts of Power Hour?)
Pyramid Upper Body (parts of Power Hour?)
Power Max (use any other step video of hers?)
Leaner Legs (Legs on PH and MIS?)
Slow and Heavy Series. (Power Hour?)

I am pretty sure that I could probably sub. Power Hour or MIS for some of these but just wondering your thoughts. Thanks.

You appear to have mostly cardiac workouts. If you have DVDs, the upper body compilation on disk two of Cross Train Express is excellent. If not, I would use the upper body portions of MIS or Body Max. If necessary, I would do certain parts twice. For lower body you can probably use the lower body workout in MIS or the lower body portion of Power Hour. Again, I might do certain parts twice. The pyramid and slow and heavy series go at a much slower rate than Power Hour....although the pyramid series has some components of an endurance workout like Power Hour. I would hesitiate to substitute only Power Hour for the two. Vary your workout as much as possible.

Regarding Power Max any cardio workout of equal intensity can be substituted.

Anybody have recommendations for substitutes for Circuit Max, Cardio Kicks, or CTX Kickbox? I have the Intensity, PS, and SH series, as well as Body Max, MIS, LL, Imax I, and Cardio Hits DVD. I think it is fairly easy to find something to substitute for the straight cardio or weights workouts, but it is tougher for the circuit and kickboxing workouts. Are any of the workouts I already own comparable?

Cardio & Weights is the best sub. for CircuitMax. C&W has more of an emphasis on the upper body and its cardio is all step where CM has a lot of compound upper/lower moves for its strength and splits up the cardio.

As for the CK and CTX: Kickbox subs - do you have any of the Powerstrike videos? They're about the same length as CK. Another idea that may work for CTX: Kickbox is to select the "Kickbox" only pre-mix from the Boot Camp + Muscle Endurance DVD. It's just under 7 minutes, so you'd have to run it 2 or 3 times to get the same length. Boot Camp's "cardio only" pre-mix is just over 19 minutes, but I'm not sure if it includes the kickbox segments that are done in the lower body strength section. I wasn't sure if you had the Intensities on DVD or not.

Or, you could just substitute one of your step videos since there's no stepping that entire week (except for CTX All Step, which is short).
 
I might try Boot Camp or one of the terminator mixes for Circuit Max. Instead of Cardio Kicks, you may want to do a good high low or even a step workout off the step. That may be one way to add variety to your workout.
