So mad!

I live on Long Island and I have Cablevision because the town I live in does not allow Verizon FIOs to do business. Well, ABC and Cablevision are in some sort of dispute and now as of today, ABC is off the air for Cablevision customers! The Oscars are tonight and for the first time in a long time, I was looking forward to watching them because I LOVE Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. PLUS. . . Lost is all new on Tuesday and I love that show. I have never missed an episode (if you are a Lost fan, you understand).

UGH!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah, it's super-annoying. I have Cablevision, too (Rockland County). I know they had some dispute for a while with HGTV but I'm surprised to see the same issue with a major network. I wonder if we could set up some rabbit ears just for the Oscars or something. :rolleyes:

I understand your pain! Have you considered hulu? It's a website where you can watch tv for free. They don't carry all the shows, but they do carry Lost!

This could at least get your through until they resolve their issues or you find an alternative! We ditched our satellite tv must be 2 years or 3 ago - can't keep track anymore and all we watch is hulu or CBS online for our shows. We don't miss the high cable/satellite bill at all!

I'm really sorry that you and other Cablevision customers have to go through this. My sister (also named Kristin) lives in NJ., and is dealing with this as well. She is also a huge Lost fan. She is going to try and watch the new episode online when its available; usually the next day. Maybe you can try that? Otherwise, you can come up to Connecticut and watch it on channel 8 at my house!!!:p Anyways, I hope they resolve this issue soon!! Take care, Nancy J.~~

You know I've never seen 'Lost'. Is it like an updated version of 'Gilligan's Island'? I know my girl Michelle Rodrigues was on the show for awhile, but I never watched it. Netflix has it so I might give it a try one day.

It is not like Gilligan's Island, except for the idea of strangers stranded on an island, lol. It is a tough show to explain. If you can get it on Netflix, order it. I love it, but it is not for everyone. My husband cannot stand it. Right now he is so happy that ABC is gone because now he does not have to endure watching it (in complete silence, because you cannot talk to me during the show, God forbid I miss something).

Oh that's too funny!:D I just may go ahead and have Netflix send me the first couple of dvds. I mean if it's so good you put your husband on mute...it's worth a try.

ROFL! That's just hysterical! Wish it would work on mine during Biggest Loser! :eek:

We appreciate your patience and hope ABC allows our customers to view their programming in the very near future. Thank You.

I have Time Warner cable, I live in Ulster County NY and I still have ABC. I was afraid I wouldn't and that would mean the loss of GH and OLTL and my favorite news anchors. :( But I just checked and the Oscars are on.

Sorry to all of you who have lost ABC. I hope the resolve the issue soon.

I guess they reached an agreement because it was back on last night. I missed the first hour of the Oscars though, including Martin and Baldwin's opening. Oh well, just happy it is back! :D
