Sneakers?

I think I went and brought and returned 3 different cross-training sneakers back because everytime Im in the middle of doing any step or high impact my feets fall asleep, but when I wear my running shoes they don't. Im just wondering if it is just me or does anybody else have this problem and what name brands sneakers help this? I did buy the Ryka and it did the same thing. It is kind of discouraging because my feet are sleeping in the middle of the workout. Right now Im going to just use my running shoes. Thanks:)

I like my New Balance cross trainers. Are your shoes wide enough? If they're too narrow this could cause them to fall asleep.

I know there was a topic in the OPEN DISCUSSION FORUM that had "Freddy's shoes" in the title. I think it was fitnut that started it. Anyway, they described the "foot falling asleep" thing. The discussion convinced me to order a pair of Freddy's shoes, and i'm waiting for them to come. I'll see if I can find the topic and bump it up to the top.

Hi,

Sleepy feet? I have had it too. Loosening the laces helps some, taking some of the propulsion out also helps. Mostly for me it has to do with the length of the step workout.

I have noticed that for me, I get that strange, tingly, sleepy feeling when I have been stepping for 50-60 minutes straight. So, for me, it is about the time. Example...today I did Rhythmic RSep and it happened. I worked through it and had a fantastic workout.

When I do a circuit type of workout, like C&W, I don't get the same tingly feeling. Does this happen to you?

I can tell you that I do have Ryka shoes, but as I said it is more of a time factor for me.

Not sure if I helped or hindered, but I shared.

Hope you have a great week.

Jamie :)

Hey Jamie, I know what you mean, because when I do the C&W it doesn't happen, and I just today did the Imax 1 and I did loosen up my shoe laces and it helped alot. I never though to do that, duh. Im glad that it is not just me. I guess because cross-train sneakers are more supported in the front, maybe that is why. Thanks everyone and thanks Danielle for the link!

I have New Balance running shoes that so far have been the most comfortable for me to do any kind of workout in. They were getting a little worn out so I replaced them with New Balance Cross Trainers....big mistake. My feet totally get that tingly feeling and the top of the shoes hit my ankle in a very uncomfortable way when I am working out. The Cross Trainers felt so good when I tried them on and I do wear them out and about. I bought Dr. Shoals sports inserts to put in my running shoes to make them last a little bit longer. I will try to replace them soon with the same exact shoe becasue I hate thinking about my feet hurting during a workout!x(
Have a good one!
