Smilies in messages/replies???

Alana - I do them by typing them. For this one 
, type a colon : followed by a parenthesis ) . For this , do the same thing - colon : followed by the other parenthesis ( . There is also a list of smilies, but you might have to go into your user settings and activate them. Someone might know more on that. If they are activated though, you should see them when you click on "Post Reply" and it brings up the box for your reply and they should be there in the options above the reply box. Look for a white smiley face with a little arrow to the right. Click on the arrow and it will bring up a drop down menu with other smiley choices that you can select. I always do a "quick reply" at the bottom so I never see them.

I can't find them either?? I press on reply there is no "go advanced"?

Here's how to enable them:
At the top of this page select "User CP". On the left side under "Settings and Options" pick "Edit Options". Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page where is says "Miscellaneous Options". Make sure that you have "Enhanced Interface" selected from the drop down menu. Hit "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page. Now when you select "Post Reply" at the bottom of a thread, you should see the different options above the box where you type your text. You can change the color, size, style of your text and there should be a white smiley face where you can select smilies.

I'm so glad Liann posted this. I spent about 20 minutes last night, trying to remember where I had "customized" my CP so I could tell Alana. I gave up in frustration and went to bed. Thank goodness for Liann and the other computer savvy friends who help us ungeekly types!
