Found it interesting that so many of you get just as many of hours sleep as I do. Now wondering what is the popular sleep position. For me mainly on my side although sometimes it does bother my left side, then I flip to my tummy which feels good on the shoulders but bothers the neck after a while....

I always sleep on my left side with a pillow between my knees to keep my back in better alignment. Before kids I slept on my tummy, now it's not comfy and the 'girls' get in the way.

Take Care

Me too- exactly like Laurie except that I sleep on my right side!

Who cares??

Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but WHO CARES!!!!

Then maybe it's time for your super exciting, interesting, ROFLMAO entries. Until then, why bother criticizing other's posts. Just don't read or respond. It's really that simple.

Won't apologize for this post, it needed to be said. A lot of snide remarks I read yesterday were hurtful and didn't involve me in any way. But really, is it necessary??? You were a newbie at one time I'm sure.

Hope you find some interesting and exciting posts to give you something to be happy about

Robin is probably one of the nicest people on these forums and I think it was quite clear she was kidding.

Tami,

I use to sleep on my stomach, face in the pillow, until I developed neck problems. Several trips to the chiropractor cured me. My chiro preached to me about my sleep position. I had to break my face in the pillow habit, and train myself to sleep on my back.;)

I start out sleeping on my back for a while then toss around all night on both sides/back and occasionally tummy. If I sleep on my stomach I usually am not using a pillow but flat on the sheets. I HAVE to use a body pillow between my legs/arms. I'm not comfortable without it. I also bought one of those memory foam contoured pillows. I LOVE it! My neck used to hurt me at night but not anymore. This one was for side sleepers and since I'm that way most of the night it's perfect.

I was actually talking to some friends about this last night. I start out on my back but always end up on my tummy. :)

By the time the dog and cat get situated on either side of me..I'm pretty much pinned down on my back. :p

OMG! Isn't that the truth!!! By the time Dakota gets comfortable, I make due with whatever pillow space is left (yes, he lays his head on my pillow) and lay on my side or back depending on how close I am to the edge of the bed.

I sleep on my stomach. I start on my back, then roll to both sides, and finally re-fluff the pillow grab the corner of DH's pillow too, and settle in to snooze on my stomach. I have to go thru all 4 positions to get comfy, kinda like doggie circles!! I've always slept on my stomach since I was a kid. Now sleeping on my sides makes my hips hurt if I'm there too long, and sleeping on my back I feel like a spiders going to drop off the ceiling and fall into my mouth. And my house isn't infested or anything!! Just stupid paranoia on my part!

Nan

Nan,
You're so funny! What about spiders in your ear? That would be more painful.

My husband and let our two boxers sleep with us for years, but we gradually broke them of this habit by making the bed too crowded with pillows and big blankets. Now, my boy sleeps on a chaise lounge and my girl sleeps on the couch. My husband and I were waking up with crippled/stiff joints from sleeping so twisted up with those two bed hogs!!!
Edited to say, if it storms at night....all bets are off. My two babies come running for their mama!

Did you ever sleep with your kids? One night it was "girls only" in my king sized bed. My three year old took up most of the space and I had about 2 inches.

Yes I have! OMG, my oldest son is awful to sleep with. I think he runs marathons in his sleep or something. Very active, moving, kicking, stealing the covers. His grandparents took him on vacation one year and he slept in their bed one night....one night of torture for the old couple! He's 25 now, and from what his GF tells me, nothing has changed.

I have kind of a hybrid position between side and back: I usually sleep on my back, but one leg bent and my head turned to that side.

I can't imagine sleeping on my stomach. Seems like the back would be in a bad position, and even more so the neck (unless someone sleeps on a massage bench with a whole in the head rest so you can keep the neck in allignment).
