I keep seeing DH on the site. What/Who is DH? In case you can't tell, I don't text or even own a Blackberry, pearlberry, anyberry! hehe!

DH is "dear husband" as said above. However, this came about from message boards, not texting. Message board acronyms were around WAY before texting!

I always wondered about this since I know of no one who refers to their husband as "dear" whether he is considered so or not.

It's a Catheboardism abbreviation that developed years ago. It was always said that the "D" could stand for anything you want it to: Dear, dumb, darn, whatever. I suppose to be more PC these days, we should use DSO, but that's a whole additional letter and it could get a bit confusing. It was established even before I joined the boards in 2002, so I suppose it's best to just stick with it.

Some might mean "da husband" like "the" but "da" sounds funnier. I mean "dear husband"....
