Hi Pam!
I am from Ohio. My flight goes thru Atlanta where I will stop in and bring KathyS with me.;-) Isn't this going to be a hoot? Happy Birthday and see you soon. Hmmm, maybe we all need to order the black Tees so we will recognize everyone at the airport.

I'm from Wisconsin and I'm going! I live in Waukesha so not too far from Brookfield. Getting nervous about flying into Philly and not knowing a soul.

Hi, Joanne! I wonder if all of us Cathe Roadtrip loners will stick out like a sore thumb at the airport. If you're like me you'll be wandering around lost and confused. Please, if someone sees a confused woman with a Cathe t-shirt (which I plan to buy before the trip) heading in the wrong direction, give a holler or something.
Nothing much new in Waukesha. We're glad the Ted Oswald trial is over. Looking forward to summer vacation so I don't have to check homework every night. And of course, Summerfest, State Fair, Waukesha County Fair, Noah's Ark, Six Flags, etc. We're talking about finally making it to Mall of America this summer, too. I hear Minnesota has a great state fair so I'd like to do that also. Hope it's not July 15-17!

It's your Brookfield neighbor, Michelle! I'm glad I'm not the only one with massive jitters! I am the Queen of Impulsive Behavior and signed up without my husband having a clue, and now he's a bit peeved at me, but I'm still excited! (I figure this may be my only shot in life, as I'm doubting how long my 37-year-old body will forgive these workouts!)
I'm thinking of either driving or taking Amtrak, since the husband has already deemed this a "personal expense," meaning that it has to come out of my pocket. (What a grump!) Anyway, if you change your mind and might be interested in traveling together on the ground somehow, give me a holler! I'd love the company!
I'm looking forward to the State Fair, too! (Although no clean eating there for me...it's corndogs, beer, deep fried cheese curds and cream puffs all the way, baby!)

I think you should fly out with me! I did a quick search on expedia.com and roundtrip is $217 for a direct flight. Amtrak which would depart on 7/14 to arrive on the 15th is $108 each way so $216 roundtrip. Which would you rather do - spend 24 hours on a train with little or no sleep or take a 2 hour flight?
I don't know how long it would take to drive but by the time you figure in gas, wear and tear on your car, I think flying is the better choice. That's my own biased opinion of course ;-) . I'd rather do Imax, Imax2 and Imax3 back-to-back than drive 850 miles by myself!}(

"The Wisconsin Cheeseman"--her dad used to work for them--love their cheeses!!! I'm getting a t-shirt too and I'll be looking for my mid-western cathe people!!! This will be a lot of fun!

I just got a brilliant idea as an icebreaker when we all meet up. We can play "6 Degrees of Catheites" (formerly Kevin Bacon)!! I swear we are all connected by six or fewer stages of circumstance or acquaintance.
