Short hair advice

Do it!!

Oh my goodness, you are SO cute! And yes, that haircut will totally work for you! I cut off about 2 feet of hair seven years ago and went pixie, and I'm never going back! The hairdresser was afraid I would start crying. Ha!

And if you hate it, hair usually grows back. :p

I think it would look good for your face but I would not have the front bangs as short as those in the picture. Start out with the front longer and see how it looks and then have the stylist modify from there.

I agree, keep the bangs and parts of the side longer. Come to think of it I Really love the way your hairstyle is now.

You are soooooo cute.

I'm not sure if a pixie would work on you just because your have such a wonderfully strong bone structure. But I absolutely LOVE the hair you currently have in that photo!

I think the cut would work because of your bone structure. I've had a cut like that and it didn't work on me - but it's so cute! I do agree w/ those who mentioned keeping the front a little longer at first. The style seems a little flat on top. If you want it shorter in the front that's a quick fix. If you do it check in so we can see how it looks!

p.s. - i love chopping off hair. i usually grow mine out a bit just so i can cut it off again.

I think that you are the perfect candidate for a pixie. You have delicate features and a petite frame. Is your natural hair texture straight? Pixies are good for most hair textures except for super curly or extremely thick and pin-straight. I agree with the other suggestions to leave the bangs a little longer, and not to get your ears "cut out" (your stylist will know what that means). Having the hair around the ears just thinned with thinning shears or a razor will extend the life of the cut and will make it so that it doesn't get puffy and awkward as quickly.

Also, it's important with short hair to use a good pomade for definition. Realize that you will wake up with insane bed-head as well.

I love the cut on the right.

Thanks so much for the kind words and advice! The picture of me is almost a year old. My hair is all blonde now in a bob that is about chin length. I think I will take the advice and keep the front a tad longer and see what I think. I am excited. I had a pixie cut once and didn't care for it but I was 25 lbs heavier and didn't have contact lenses yet.

I appreciate the advice. I can always count on the kind women on this forum to be there.

Thanks for the heads up about the ears. I do have kinda big ears that stick out. I do have very fine straight hair, which is why I am itching to get it cut. This summer heat & humidity is making me hate dealing with my hair.

I agree! You can totally pull it off!

Your eyes are beautiful! I used to have a really short pixie and really miss it, especially in the summer time. So easy to style and doesn't blow around crazy! I say do it, but agree to start with longer bangs.

Will you post a picture of yourself after the cut?!?!?!

I am sitting in the chair right now getting color (using my iphone). I will post a picture tonight or tomorrow. I haven't gotten the cut yet but he said he wants to try keeping the bangs longer first and we can always shorten them later.

I love your current hair but yes I think you could pull it off. I love the pixie. I used to have that same cut, . . .but when I got bored I have to admit growing it back was a real huge pain and although you would think it is an easy maintainence hair cut, .. . you have to go and get a trim every month.

By the time you read this, you will have already cut it! But I will tell you anyways, that, yes, go for it! Great advice from the stylist to at first leave the bangs longer. I do think you'd look great with the short bangs, though. You can always do that later. You can so pull it off, and not everyone can!!! I am a stylist myself, and can't wait to see the pictures!!! Good luck, Nancy J.~~

I had a pixie for a long time. It was a little longer in front than the picture you showed, but I LOVED it. So easy!!! THe only pain was having to get it cut every four weeks. Can't wait to see what you decide on!! Post a pic!

Monica,

You are a beautiful girl with features that are fine and yet have character! I think a pixie will look great on you. I agree with the longer front first, and then deciding about going shorter.

Please post a pic after the cut.
