How adorable! I've seen more black cats owned by (or vice versa!) people on this forum than I've ever seen owned by anyone else who has cats! Does that sentence make any sense? I guess my point is that the shelters are always filled with black cats. People don't tend to adopt them as often as other cats. Kind of makes me sad.
Didn't mean to digress, but it just made me think about that seeing your two beautiful cats! Or should I say, handsome?
Black cats are some of my favorites (and I don't understand the weird superstition that keeps people from adopting them. Once when I was visiting the shelter where I volunteer, I realised that out of 12 cats in the adult room 9 were black! I would have adopted them all if I had the room!). Supposedly, they have softer fur than other cats (I haven't decided whether that is true or not: I still have a lot of 'test petting' to do!).I guess my point is that the shelters are always filled with black cats. JT, thanks for sharing! (Why not put these photos in your album on your user page as well?)

My Merlin kitty is black, too. When we got him (from a shelter) they said most people don't want the black ones, except around Halloween when people do weird, mean, nasty things to them. Poor kitties!
