RT Checkin - Thurs. 4/26

Morning Tess!

Last night was CIA Gay Gasper "All Out Infused Step." I actually really liked this one. She did 5 step patterns. Each segment had a, I guess a "power surge" at the end. Then there is a bonus combo where she does all 5 segments linked together. Fun, but not Cathe intensity, but then again, I don't want Cathe intensity all the time. So, this one is a keeper.

I leave for WA this p.m. so no checking in until Tuesday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning everyone:)

Today is BG day, I like to put this workout in my rotation every week, love it!

Hope everyone has a great day.

Michelle

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was Power Max. I'm getting better! I think I'll do this again next week on my step cardio day then switch to another step the week after. I lowered my step to 4" though because 6" is just too tough for me. Even at 4 my HR is still way high so I'm getting a great workout.

Ladies, please pray for my cousin Howard. He is 13 and he was skateboarding on Friday, holding on to the drivers side of a truck that was pulling him. He fell off his skateboard and the rear wheel of the truck ran over his head. Luckily his face is in tact but he has had to have surgery on his brain and there is lots of swelling and risk of infection. He is in ICU and is in a medically induced coma. His vital signs, stats and brain activity readings are OK so the conditions are hopeful, but all your good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

Have a great day everyone.

Good MOrning
Tess I am so so sorry about your cousin. That is terrible I will be praying for him.

Michelle Great job with BG I did the leg blast premix 3 days ago and I am still feeling it!

Belinda same way with PLB I always feel that one for days after! Good job!

This morning I did Power HOur chest, Gym Style Chest and SJP abs and planks.
Have a great day ladies

Good morning all.

Tess... I will be praying for your cousin. He is so young, hopefully his youth will be on his side. Kids are very resiliant.... I will also be praying for you and your family... Please keep us updated. {{{ I am sending you big hugs }}}

I have to be quick as I have to run to the dentist ( not my favorite place... aaagh!)

I will be doing MM when I get back and then I teach cardio/sculpt tonight. I'll just go very light during class since MM is my heavy w/o for the day.

I'll check back later tonight to catch up.

Have a great day.

Tess, I prayed for your cousin just as soon as I read this post. I have 2 little boys who just love climbing and adventure. It's hard not to live in a perpetual state of "what if" as I watch the scrapes they get themselves into. I am constantly trusting myself and them to the Lord! I especially pray that you and the rest of the family may have peace, no matter what the outcome will be, but of course we are praying for the best!

Today I did go ahead and do Step Blast instead of Rhythmic Step. Both have such fun choreography, but I wanted more of a challenge than Rhythmic Step. Step Blast was fun and perfect.

How do you all determine your step height? I used to think that Rhonda was very long and gangly, till I read that Cathe is 5'2". So then I realized that Rhonda is probably my height (5'8"). That was a shocker! I've read that some folks felt themselves giants on the last RT. That'll be me! Are any of the rest of you out there around my height? Do you automatically assume that you need 2 risers for the step workouts? It seems that Cathe used to use 2 risers more often, then she began to use just 1 more often (except on Low Max), but Rhonda kept on using 2, I'm assuming because of height.

I used 2 today, following Rhonda. My method has been to use 2 when I'm having an "up" day and to drop to 6 inches on those "no strength" days, as Cathe says in Power Hour!

Today was a good food day:

B-Just Right with milk
S-apple and orange
L-1 beef fajita; lean beef, lots of red, yellow, green peppers; no goopy toppings
S-banana and one homemade oatmeal cookie
S-baked chicken; 4 tiny baked potatoes (you can't buy big ones here!) with just salt and a little oil on the skin; plateful of broiled veggies

Have a good day yourself. Oh, yes. I'm between 7 and and 10 hours ahead of you, depending on where you are in the States, so that's how I've already eaten supper.

:)

Hi Laura- Your not alone, I'm 5'8" also. I use 2 risers for RS, LIC and a couple others. Unless I can't keep my heart rate up I will use a 6" step.

Michelle:)

Good afternoon ladies! No work for me tonight - yippee! I plan to do the upper body gym styles (hopefully all of them) again followed by a Cardio Coach on my recumbent bike.

Tess - I am so sorry about your cousin! I will keep him and your family in my prayers!

ivorygorgon - Have fun in WA! I'll be there in a few month too visiting the inlaws. Hope you have good weather. :)

Belinda - Have fun with PLB! (Sounds like some kind of peanut butter doesn't it?)

Michelle - I still haven't gotten to BG! I need to make it a priority this week. :)

Randi - Wow, quiet the workout today!

Vicki - Hope the dental visit went well. I HATE having anyone mess with my teeth. It's pure torture for me.

Laura - Another 5'8" girl here! Glad to know I'm in good company! :)

Hello RT Ladies....

Today I am proud of myself. Right before I left work today my boss yelled at me for something that I did not do (my boss is a jerk who unless you are a women he can cheat on his wife with or one of the good ol boys that shares his same bad morals he treats you like dirt). I was in such a terrible mood when I got home. My first urge was to skip my workout and pig out on some junk food. However I told myself that I was not going to let that jerk get the best of me and ruin my day. I got out Kick, Punch and Crunch and worked out my anger that way. Picturing myself punching my jerky boss was so much better stress relief than over eating which just causes more stress. Since I am a big time emotional eater that was a big accomplishment for me. I felt so much better afterwards. :)

Hi all. Today I did Amy Bento Kickbox premix followed by GS Chest. Also starting this week in the evenings I've been working on perfecting my form for pushups. I find that when Cathe does them in her workouts I'm always rushing to keep up so I think my form is not the best. I do all of them on my toes but think I have lots of room for improvement! At night I'm taking my time at it and making sure I get my arms at least to a 90 degree angle, my body straight, etc.

Laura: I believe Rhonda is 5'6". She just looks so tall because the others are so short. After the RT in 2005 and seeing how tiny they all were, I started doing all my step tapes with an 8" step. Since I'm 5'5" and have like 3" on most of Cathe's crew I felt like I was cheating using the 6" step. The only time I lower it is when I have to jump with both feet on and off the step (I am firmly planted on this earth LOL) or when the choreography is very dancy, such as with Patrick Goudeau or Seasun Zeiger.

Liann: you must be whupped after doing all the gym styles in one day!

Jacque: Your boss sounds like a jerk. You might want to stock up on your Kickboxing tapes. Sounds like you need them!

Tess: So sorry about your cousin. He's in my thoughts.

Copwife: Isn't BG great? I have no problem doing it week after week after week. Since I do the BG premixes a lot, I just have to remember to do the deadlifts every now and then. Seems like the premix I've been doing doesn't have them in it. When I switched to Legs and Glutes one week, my hammies were sore for days.

Vicki: Hope your dentist visit was non-painful. I get to go for my checkup in a couple weeks. Not my favorite place either.

Good Afternoon RTers!

Sorry I am not regular with the posting, but I will be better once school is out in the summer. I teach pre-school. Today was LM Blasts only and then KM leg conditioning drills.
Tess--Please keep us posted on your cousin. I will be praying for him.
Vicki--Have you tried almond butter? I bought some this week for the first time....YUM!!
Laura--I am 5'6" so I am glad to know there are some tall girls coming on the RT. I usually just use a 6" step. My HR gets high enough with that.
Jacque--Good for you for choosing a better stress reliever than junk food. KPC was a great choice. Sorry about your boss.

Hi trippers. I didn't get a workout done today. I'm babysitting my grandson so my DD can go on a field trip with her landscaping class. He's very demanding. I had hoped to do Drill Max, so I guess I'll pencil it in for tomarrow.

Tess, I'm praying for your cousin.

ETA: Another 5'6" here.

Phew... just finished the two upper body gym styles and thought I would check back in. My arms are completely useless!! I'm very proud of myself though. I started to think I was done for halfway through GS Back, Shoulders, & Biceps, but somehow I made it through Chest and Triceps. DH came down and worked out with me for a few minutes after he got in from work (he has a second job too), so that was nice. Finished off the night with Cardio Coach 1. Only Coach Sean could get my lazy butt to do cardio after that workout! I think I am going to go crawl into the tub now! Tomorrow will definitely be a rest day for me and then on to B&G for Saturday's workout. :) Hope everyone has a lovely night!

p.s. After getting my Champion sports bras today in the mail, I just had to go and place another order. They are currently 50% off ($19.99). Wayyy cheaper than some of that "Oh My Bod" stuff I was looking at and just as nice IMHO. Only problem is they are almost "too" nice to workout in! I'm still using my old rags. Guess I will save the nice stuff for the RT.

Hello.

I have not posted this week. I was out of town visiting my sister in Kansas City. The weather was so beautiful there--I walked around the plaza and spent way too much money!! I guess that is what trips are for. Once I got home, it turned cold and rainy, so I have (unfortunately) had less motivation to work out:( I did Cardio Fusion Mix and Max (whew!!) Sunday, off Monday (stomach bug:( ), LoMax plus Blast only followed by GS BSB on Tuesday, and iTread on Wednesday. I had a stressful day today and did not work out :( I plan to make up for it tomorrow!!

Tess...I will be praying for your cousin. Please keep us updated!

LauraR...I am 5'3", so I will be feeling a little vertically challenged with all of you taller people:) I know this is a weird reason for determining step height, but I always use an 8" step height b/c my Reebok step slides on my hardwood if I use 6". I guess I have been too lazy to look for something to put under my step. It just about killed me at first, but now I am used to it and feel like I get less of a workout when I go to my gym and use a 6" step.

Jacque...I hope things at work get better for you. Isn't it great to picture someone you don't really care for when kicking and punching!!

Liann...What a great workout!! You must really like Coach Sean to get you through all of that. I just started some of the iTread workouts last week. I really like them. Do you like Cardio Coach better? I am thinking about trying some eventually.

I hope you all have a great night.
