Rotation After STS?

I'm getting a little ahead of myself since I'm just going to be starting Meso 3 tomorrow but I'm wondering what you would suggest for a rotation after STS? I'm sure I'll do another round of STS but not right away. Would any type of lifting be better than another?

Thanks and Happy Easter,

Laura

I'm waaay ahead of myself since I'm just finishing up my 8th week of Meso 1, but I've been wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking!

There is a thread in the DVD comment section similar to yours.
It caught my eye because someone posted an undulating rotation using STS.
It's on the second page (response #20).

I think I'm going to do 4-6 weeks of full body workouts. I also want to do FitnessFreak's Dec rotation before I begin. I'm going to use the undulating rotation. Hopefully, STS cardio will be in my hands by then:)

I also want to do some type of undulating rotation with STS but not right after I finish my 5 month program. I may take a brief Cathe break and do some Amy Bento- I have a few of her weight DVDs that I haven't even touched yet. My friend wants me to do the new BB program, Insanity, with her. But I don't know- need to know more about it. I also have CLX calling my name and I know the change to compound exercises would be a good change for my body. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Plus, I can't stay away from Cathe for long and once I get the STS cardio, I want to do it WITH STS weights. So yeah, I haven't a clue! LOL.

Cynthia: You'll love Debbie's December 08 rotation!

I know! My head spins when I think about it. I'm getting one of the Insanity workouts with my next Tony One on One:D I'm so excited! I was thinking it will rotate well with some full body workouts. I have all of Cathe's full body workouts,Boot camp, and circuits. I have a lot to keep me busy!
I don't think I can stray too long or far away from STS. It's such a great program:D:D

I'm torn too ! The undulating periodization format really appeals to me too...it's actually hard for me to NOT tamper with the STS format in that way already ! Am exercising self restraint :p

I may do a month of full body alternating with increasing my run distances every other day OR do the und/periodized STS ...tho pyramid/ME/BC rotation is appealing too....

i don't mean to be dumb, but what is undulating?

There's an article in the other thread but basically you circulate your rep count on a daily or weekly basis; e.g. one day or week is strength, next is endurance and then hypertrophy.

Hi Laura! I answered this for you in the STS forum but I will copy my answer here in case you didn't see it there...

Many have asked and yes, you CAN do the STS program in its entirety all over again (after an active recovery week of course) if you want too. That is fine. But because this program required such discipline and focus, I don't want anyone of you to burn out on it. You might do better doing any one of my other workout series (or another program of your choice) for two weeks to a month to change your workout "room" a bit and then revisit STS with that same focus, energy and determination you have now.

No matter how you slice it, just remember to WORK WORK :D

I had planned on starting Meso 1 again after I finish the first rotation, but I'm seeing such wonderful progress with Meso 3, I'm thinking about repeating it instead.

I'm having cateract surgery in June so I will have to take a break after that {and then for the other eye} so I'll probably only have time for one Meso.

I've looked at the Undulating rotation and find that one interesting. I was planning another full rotation in the fall {I have a hard time being consistant with my workouts in the heat of the summer} and may try the undulating rotation for a change. Then I saw a different version of the Undulating rotation of VF.

The possibilities seem endless.:eek::cool::D

Hi Cathe,

I'm pretty sure you may have (how's that for vague?) answered this question before...but is it recommended to re-do your 1RMs before doing STS again? I played around with entering my 1RMs for the last chest and back disc...since I'm technically 5% stronger now (yay!) I entered those numbers. My new 1RM for some of those exercises were SCARY high...so I'm not sure if that's what I should do. I am a numbers person and the "re-test or not to re-test" thing has been driving me a bit insane! I would love some guidance from you.

Have a great day!
Aimee
