Mornin' all! It's 9:40 - did the excitment zap all of our energy this am? Time to really dive into my training schelude and healthy /clean eating plan to gear up for summer. I find food to be the hardest part!

I was up at 4:15 and got in LIC and the timesaver of GS BSB. Perhaps a little fluidity later on in the day. I've recently begun getting up early again to fit in a workout and still deal with the kids' things throughout the day. Cheryl - have no clue about how you balance 10! Kudos to you.

Some quick things to get done and then I'll be back in a bit - need to learn everyone we have. Till then - a great big morning shout out to all of you. Have a great day all.

Lorrie

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. Here's my webpage.

Hi Lorrie....I just posted in the thread from yesterday to catch up. I agree...FOOD is the hardest, I gave up chips in January as they were becoming a food group!!

Sounds like a good workout for you. I am doing BBC Arms & Abs, some leg floorwork and an Elliptical workout. I usually get up about 5 or 5:30, but only have one 49 year old kid...:)

Hi everyone! When I have some time tonight I will go back through and read what everyone is doing to get ready for the RT. I am so excited to meet everyone! I don't post here often...I'm usually at yayas (ubataba) or videofitness (Tess_ATL). I have a feeling I'll be over here a lot more over the next few months. :)

I am 34 and have been working out consistently since November of last year. I love Cathe but I am kind of working up to them. Lately I've been doing Slim Series and my shape is really benefiting from those so I am going to stick with them a little while longer before I switch over to a Cathe rotation. A friend on my checkin at the yaya's was nice enough to offer loaning me some Cathe step tapes so I'll get to practice those before the trip. I'm definitely choreo-challenged so that should be interesting.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Tess

Never done a check-in before, so here's a little intro. :) My name is Amber (go by my middle name Liann here). I'm 28 and live in South Central, PA, with my DH of 5 years and my 3 weiner dogs, Dakota, Cheyenne, & Montana (my children). I was very active during early/late teens - competitive Figure Skating, volleyball, soccer, etc... Then I joined the corporate world after college and became a professional "desk" employee. After gaining around 20 unwelcome pounds, I joined a local gym about 2 years ago, but soon realized that working out at home was easier for me (I work 2 jobs). I started with the little step from Wal-Mart that came with the Beginning Step DVD from Cathe. I discovered this website when I went to order some risers for my step. It was all downhill for my credit card from that point on. Now I own the high step, club step, and almost every DVD Cathe has made (now you know why I have two jobs!). I'm still working my way through the beginner and intermediate step routines and hope to have most of the steps down by the Roadtrip. I love the weight routines too, but have been sidelined lately with a messed up shoulder (old volleyball injuries raise their ugly head). My goal is to have it back to new by the roadtrip and to finish shedding the 20 lbs of excess baggage by then! I CANNOT wait to meet everyone!!!

Hi Lorrie & Carole & Tess & Liann!! Good morning to you and all that follow!

Didn't check-in yesterday, this is my first time. My name is Melissa. I'm 35 years old. I'm from Massachusetts. I've been working out with Cathe, exclusively, for about 3 years now. LOVE HER! Can't wait to meet her of course. And everyone else!

Lorrie, I wish I could get up early before my DD and get my workout in. I just can't do it! And I only have one!

I agree with both of you, food is the hardest part for me as well. I'm going to try to clean it up a little before the RT.

Did Drill Max yesterday. Monday's are my day off.

Talk to you all soon!

Melissa

Now that intro's out of the way....

Hi Lorrie, Carole, Kathy, Tess, & Melissa!

Lorrie - I really need to use you as inspiration to get up early and get the routines done before work. I used to go to the gym before work and I always felt so good doing that. It's hard to tell myself that though when the alarm goes off at like 4:30 a.m.! I also think it's awesome that you are doing the Komen 3-day!

Carole - I wish I had a 1/4th of the definition you do!!!

Melissa - The food part is very hard for me too. Especially on weekends! I've seen a lot of progress though since I have eliminated most of the junk out of my diet. We will have to keep encouraging each other because it can be really hard! I hear a bag of dorritos calling to me...

Kathy - The meal plan sounds great. I might copy it down. I'm bad at planning my meals out! ;)

Tonight I am going easy and just doing a segment of core max and stretch max. I have physical therapy today for my shoulder, so my arms will get quite the workout this afternoon. Speaking of therapy, I'd better get going! It's at noon.

Good afternoon 2007 Roadtrippers! I usually exercise in the evening. Tonight after dh and I finish doing our taxes, I plan on doing something similar to Lorrie. Instead of LIC and Fluidity, it will be The Bar Method and Cardio & Weights. Until the P90X arrives, I don't have a rotation set in stone or paper.

Have a great day!
Wendy

Good morning to all the fabulous roadtrippers!
A little catch up from yesterday:

Lara- Welcome! You wont regreat the decision to come on the RT!
My Dogs are my "kids" as well. Sophie is one lucky German Shepherd.

Kathy- another runner! Splendid:7 Great job on your iTread run this morning. I really like those workouts, they are quite challenging!
I saw yesterday that you are doing the marathon training one as well.
Do you have a marathon scheduled for this year?

Jacqueline- I work with alot of RTs in my work (I'm an RN in critical care) You should definitely give p90x a try! You won't regret it!

Kim from NC (I love your screen name!!- crabbyella:) ) You had a
very interesting inro!! Can't wait to meet you and I promise I won't make you leave!!!

Josei- Wow, you're in you 20s and have a 12 hr old stepson? What a challenge that must be for you! Stick with Cathe and you'll be getting those muscles toon!

Lorrie- Good morning! One of those dedicated ones up at the crack of dawn I see! Not this roadtripper!! I work nites so getting up at 0630-0700 is doing pretty good for me! Great workout today!

Carole- Hello again! Hey... I have one of those big OLD kids myself! ;-)

Tess - I wouldn't fret very much about being choreographically
challenged! From what I understand Cathe keeps the routines on the simple side for the road trips. Welcome!

Liann- I can really sympathize with you about the ongoing assault on the credit card.... YIKES:eek: Ah well, an investment in fitness is never wasted money! Look forward to meetin ya!

Melissa- DM is so far my all time favorite Cathe workout!!! Welcome and have a great rest day!

I think that catches me up!

ShellyC

Michelle

Good Afternoon, Everyone ~ :)

I work-out in the evening also, tonight will be GS, Chest & Tri's, & Coremax, Seg. 1. I am currently following Cathe's Upper Body Bliss Rotation, well at least until the she posts something for April.

I wish I had more willpower to get my eating in order. I already caved and had a donut and coffee for breakfast, and this was after I already had Egg Whites & bacon...LOL I guess I was just bored!!!

Take Care, Hope everyone Has a nice day :)

Hey all!

I started a new rotation this morning in preparation for the road trip. I created an outline plan for the 20 weeks and doing 3 week cycle rotations with a 1 week lighter taper week in between each one. This week I'm focusing on PS strength segments (one bodypart per day) along with Intensity and Body Blast series cardio routines. I also typically alternate abs/core with floor legs every other day so will continue that.

I'm also going to really focus on my eating as I'd like to lose about 15-20 lbs that I'd gained last year due to 2 back-to-back surgeries and medications I was on. I have lost about 6 lbs in the last several weeks. I want to get into my best shape ever!!

Oh...I'm 44 years old, married, no children, an interior designer from Kansas City, and I've been doing Cathe's workouts since they first came out in the late 80's!! I'm also a marathoner and triathlete. I've met Cathe once about 8-9 years ago when I visited her club while on vacation.

Would love to hear what kinds of rotations everyone comes up with to whip into shape!

This morning I did Step Jump and Pump (about 45 min. worth), PS back plus some pullups on my Total Gym machine, and about 10 minutes of leg floorwork (inner/outer thigh and bridges)...total 75 min. workout. The eating could be better...okay except they have jelly beans sitting out which I can't seem to stay out of entirely....

Cheryl

OH MY! Another check in for me! LOL! This is an awesome idea, though! I'll try to check in every day.

A brief intro to me:
Gayle, age 35. SAHM to DS9 and DS6. I'm currently engaged to a wonderful man (for reasons of clarity only, DH passed away in '03 from leukemia...thought I'd say that now, cuz sometimes I refer to 'late DH'.). I'm a Cheetah and a Catheite! I'm slowly getting convinced that Yoga is an AWESOME addition! I follow Weight Watchers' food guide, and I've lost over 40 lbs with it. I'm currently up just a few pounds (about 6) from my ww goal weight and 11 up from my PERSONAL goal weight. I've been working it hard and consistantly for several months now, and my eating is FINALLY under control and accountable. Since it's just me and my boys, I workout first thing in the early AM. I'm usually up around 4:45am, in the basement working out my 5sm. Currenly, I'm in week 10 of a 14 week training program for a half marathon the last weekend in April.

OK....this morning's workout was Rodney Yee's Power Yoga Total Body, as a recovery from yesterday's long run of 10.5 miles. Tomorrow...kicking it back up with a run and some weights.

This road trip is going to be AWESOME! I'm really looking forward to meeting so many of you!

Gayle

Hi Gayle - I remember you from the '05 roadtrip - we were at the same table at the Friday night get-together. You were sooooooo inspriring to me with your strength and courage from your DH's battle and passing and raising your boys. Glad you'll be there again. I think the Cathe RT - for me - was more purely selfish fun than I've ever had.

When DH gets home later to handle the monsters I hope to post more personally to all who are here. So glad we're getting to know one another. I am driving into NJ on Thursday. Last time Cathe taught her step class on Friday a.m. and opened it up to all trippers who were in town. If she does that again <<hope hope hope hope>> I'll be there!

Back later. Enjoy your w/os.
Lorrie

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. Here's my webpage.

Hi everyone! Just read through yesterday's check-in and am hoping to join you all today.
I am a 38-year-old SAHM of 3 (twin boys that are 7 and a little girl who's 2) -- an ex-lawyer and ex-librarian. Live in Dallas, Texas.
After my daughter was born, I joined WW and lost 40 pounds while exercising at home (mostly Kathy Smith). I ordered a couple Cathe DVDs from Collage video with no clue who she was -- best thing I ever did!! That was less than 2 years ago and I now have all her DVDs and am addicted! I am pretty shy and have lurked on these forums for a couple years. I was so excited to get a spot for the RT - a gift to myself for FINALLY quitting smoking after 20 years!
I have actually been doing Jari Love's Ripped 1000! workout for a couple weeks and using Cathe for cardio. I also go to a yoga studio for a Power Yoga class a couple times a week. But most of the time, I work out at home while my daughter takes a nap.
My goal is to gain more muscle and lean out a bit before the RT in August.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few months and then work up a sweat with all of you in August!
Am off to do Jari's Ripped 1000!
Colleen

Hi!

I will be doing Scrambled Eggs (Body Max 2 premix) and B & G's tonight. I have been doing B & G's three times a week since Cathe came out with the series. I always like to do some cardio before I do any weight training.

I think Drill Max is one of my favorites of Cathe's new workouts. I try to do that one three times a week, also.

Wendy: I do home school two of my older children. I home schooled all of my children up until this past year. I have put my four youngest in school, because of some hardships I have had with my 29 year old son. He was hit by a car in April of 2002 and has a traumatic brain injury. We will have to take car of him for the rest of his life. It has been very time consuming. I felt I couldn't give my younger ones the time that they needed to do well in school. I still home school my 17 year old and my 15 year old. I think it is awesome that you have 6 children and that you are home schooling. It will be great to meet you.

Heather: I love your posts and I think it is great that you are shedding so many pounds. You are a real inspiration. How is your running going?

Lorrie: WOW a 60 mile walk! How awesome is that?

Tracy: Congratulations on your new baby! Babies are the best aren't they?

Carol: I loike to do Powerstrike and Tracey Staehle, and Kelley Coffey, too. I also have all the CIA workouts. I do like the variety. But I must add that I love Cathe the best!

Kim: My soon to be roommate. So you are a lawyer and a certfied aerobic instructor. That is really great! I can hardly wait for us to put our energy together and to do some heavy duty sweating!

Carole: I have always admired you from afar. You have very informative posts. Your picture trail shows how well your exercise program has paid off. You look fabulous!

Everyone have a nice day - it is 73 in Michigan today and it got up to 76 yesterday!

Cheryl

Hi trippers. I'll try to post here and get to know you all, but I'm pretty busy over in hateville and <--land.

I'm Robin, 51 years old, married for 30 years this May. I have a 23 year old son with Prader Willi Syndrome who moved into a residence specific for his syndrome, after a long legal battle with our county, last July. I also have a 19 year old daughter who is a single mother of a 4 month old and a college student. My grandson has a birth defect also, but we don't know how it will affect him yet. His daddy is very involved in caring for him too, and I expect they will get married once college is over.

I have always carried anywhere from 20 to 50 pounds of excess baggage, but manage to stay fit with at home workouts. I use Cathe more then any others and have been working out with her since Step Heat was released however many years ago. I'm hoping, along with a lot of you, to use the Road Trip as incentive to drop a few pounds and kick the fitness level up a few notches.

I work out in the late afternoon, after getting home from my job as a microbiologist in a hospital lab. I've been trying to follow some of Cathe's rotations for the last 3 months. Right now I'm doing her Nov '06 rotation and doing Cardio Fusion later on. I have to go read the weekend posts and see who you all are. I'm looking forward to meeting those of you I've "known" here for a while, and those of you who are fairly new to posting. This forum is a wonderful place to be.

Hello to all!!! Today was my first day back at school after spring break...I miss sleeping in! I'm going to do PUB today before I go to work tonight, one of my favorite workouts...except the biceps section...ouch!!!!

I agree with everyone that diet is by far the hardest part of getting in shape and staying in shape! I know that I am a perfect "clean eater" but I try to do my best every day...except last Friday. I had a big burger and fries...and they were delicious!!!

ShellyC-It is a bit odd to be a stepparent to a near teenager in my mid twenties. Particularly because I have never been interested in having children at all. He is a really good kid, though and we have developed a great bond. I know I am not his mom, and I'm not going to try to be, he already has one:)

Have a great day everyone...we're one day closer to the roadtrip...YAY!!!!

Josie

Hi there, everyone!!!!
Just checking in!

I'm trying to eat better. Its the hardest for me, and it sounds like its the same for alot of you, too!! I love to eat, especially at night. There were alot of temptations in my house this month!! (mine and my daughter's b'day) Now the next challenge is Easter. The candy is already appearing in my house!!! We will be visiting family for Easter, and I will be surrounded by so much unclean (but oh so good:9 ) food! Hopefully not too much damage will be done!!!!

Kathy: I don't mind shop talk at all; I like it:) .

Carole: I have some bizarre salon stories:7

6swans4me: My daughter looks for an angel for about 2 min. when I do something with her hair. Then it gets all pulled out! You know how kids are!!;)

Everyone else: I hope you all are having a happy, productive day!!!!
Take care, Nancy J.~~~~~

Good afternoon, Road Trippers!!!

It has been a crazy morning so I haven't had a chance to check-in until now. This morning I did Jari Love's Slim and Lean, just for something a little different. I didn't end up doing yoga last night as I got sucked in by Dateline. Did anyone see it? I don't think I want to know anymore about where my food comes from. I tried eating clean for breakfast and lunch, but then blew it on a frosted brownie. I am such a sucker for sweets. Oh well, there is always tomorrow!!

Lorrie-4:15! WOW!!I try to get up most mornings at 5 so I can be done before the kiddos wake up, but sometimes it is definately a struggle. Do you get up that early every day?

Cheryl #1-I like your idea of the 20 week plan.

Liann-LOL at the credit card assault. I am definately in the same boat.

Carole-You look amazing. Do you use mainly Cathe workouts?

Gayle-I agree with you about the importance of yoga!! It really is a great complement to the strength training.

Kathy-You are so good with your eating plan!!!

I hope everyone has a terrific day. By the way, I have a technical question. Is there a way to look at previous posts once you begin typing a reply? I always forget something so I try to look back at what people have said, but then my reply gets erased and I have to start over. Thanks!!

Beth
