Good morning all...

Hope your weekend was wonderful! Mine was busy as usual. This week looks to be a bit crazy! Every day is chock full of activity. Besides teaching my cardio/sculpt classes, in the last few months I have had several people who have been coming to me privately for personal training. No, I am not certified yet, but I have my test scheduled finally for July 16th. I had not mentioned that I do this here because at this point it is really very "off the books" and informal. However, the last month or so I have added some new people ( three who work at my dentist office!) and am starting to get pretty busy doing this. I now have 6 people who come to me 2 times per week each. I have a pretty well equipped gym in my basement although it is not a finished area yet. My DH is SLOWLY trying to get it done. So, I am getting excited about this as my new career and am seeing that I can probably do what I want which is train people right here at home ( plus teach class) and make a difference in their lives. I see all these people really making big changes in their bodies like I have and it is such a great feeling to know I am helping them get there. So, now I need to buckle down and study for my test! I am the worst procrastinator so you guys need to stay on top of me to study!!! Just wanted to share that with you all since I am now down to the wire on taking this next step...

This week is also the last week of school for the kids! aAAGH! When the heck did THAT happen?? Then Friday night my boys are headlining a pretty important gig and they have to be practicing every day for it... There is a pretty important producer in the music industry who is coming to see them. He possibly wants to make a second album with them so we are so psyched! But one step at a time in this business as we have learned. Nothing is a sure thing! So, it's Monday... let the stress begin!!!

OOOOHH... I finally found naturally More PB. Someone here mentioned it a while ago and OMG is it yummy!!! It has flaxseed oil and fleaxseed and wheat germ. I am never going back to regular PB again.I am salivating thinking about having som ein my oatmeal this morning.

I will be doing MM then I teach tonight. Eating has been good this past week. MY time of the month is here and I feel 5 pounds lighter ( isn't that always amazing! You just pee it right out, don't ya?) I need to keep it clean this week to fit into a great "rocker mom" outfit for Friday nights' show!

I hope you guys have a great day! RT is going to be here so soon... I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!!

LOL about the fleaseed. I bet that would get you hopping. Nyuck, nyuck. Sounds like you are one busy lady, Vicki. Good luck with the PT test and with the boy's musical career.

I got to work today to find out that a co-worker who had quit work a year ago due to health problems had died. It's put a pall over everything. I can't get away for the service this morning, but several others are going.

Today's workout will be IMAX3. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday.

Good morning ladies! I normally try to check in at least once over the weekend, but this was a very busy weekend for me. Lots to do around the house and garden and DH and I made a little road trip to Hamburg, PA. The weather was wonderful over the weekend! We actually had the air off and the windows open Saturday and Sunday.

I didn't squeeze in any official workouts, but I have been keeping up with my push-ups every night. I am now doing 3 sets of 15 on my toes and am VERY proud of myself! ;) DH and I were doing them last night and Dakota walked in the room. He turned his head to look at Bry just as Bry was coming down on his last push-up and they knocked skulls. The dog and Bry yelped. Of course I picked up the dog and asked him if he was ok and checked his head for a bump. Then I looked at my DH and cracked up because he had a big bruise across his forehead. So I sent my DH off to work this morning with a redish black circle on his head. It hasn't faded at all from last night. The ladies at work are going to really raz on him for being injured by a wiener dog!

Vicki - Good luck with your certification test! I'm sure you are going to do great. :D

Robin - Sorry about the co-worker. :(

Good Morning RTers!

Today I ran 3 miles with my friends and then did SB and then KPC abs and will go to yoga tonight! Whew!:p

Kara--Are there any good books you have read recently that you would recommend? I usually read more in the summer when I have more time. (Not working)

Vicki--Never heard of More PB. Hmmmm...where do you get it?:9 Good luck on becoming a personal trainer. How exciting!! That would be my supressed desire!

Robin--IMAX3..major SweatMax!! Sorry to hear abut your co-worker.

Liann--WTG with push ups!! They are definitely a challenge for me. Funny story about your DH bumping into the dog! Hope they are both okay.

Have a great day all!

Good morning all!

Today I did PS Legs & Abs and a 30 min walk/run on treadmill. Now I'm off to do grocery & laundry, yuk. Back onto the clean eating wagon. I couldn't have eaten worse last week if I tried.

Vicki-That's exciting about your certification. Study hard! I have checked out your boy's website. I really like their music and wish them the best!

Robin-I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Seems like you do IMAX 3 a lot! That one always kills me, even with a 4" bench.

Liann-Great job on the pushups!!! Funny story about DH, but I'm sure he didn't think it that funny:)

Gin-That sounds like a killer workout! I really haven't been ready too much lately. Re-reading Harry Potter for the upcoming new book. I am going to the library today though to look for the ones Laura recommended. I really like mystery/detective stories too. What kind of books do you like?

Hope everyone has a good day:)

Kara

Good morning ladies,

Been traveling for work and just returned. I did get some workouts in by looking at some of the threads from Cathe about working out in your hotel room. Great stuff!!

Today I did step, jump and pump but only the jump and pump session and will do Step Heaven with Christi Taylor for today at 3:00pm so hopefully that will be fun.

Vicki, I paid 7.00 for the peanut butter and I hate it. I don't know what it is about the taste of it but it doesn't taste by PB to me at all. SIGH. I really hoped it would allow me to enjoy PB without shame.

Thanks for inspiring me today!!!

Hi everyone! Yesterday was a rest day, so I didn't post in. I did spend 2 hours looking for the GPS coordinates of a popular fishing spot in the Bay. :+ :7 Yes, I am addicted to fishing! :p We went out in the boat and wet a few lines, but didn't have any luck and were too hot to take it too seriously. So we headed back to the canal and hid from the heat. The water temperature is still low enough to make the air feel a little cool at cruising speeds, so the run back was very nice. Unfortunately we are the very *last* house on the canal, so we were sweating again by the time we got there.

Today, I did Step Blast/SJP Step and Weights premix. I get so aggravated doing Step Blast cardio and I'm not really sure why. It starts out fun, but at some point I guess there's just too much talking going on and I get nervous and start screwing up. Or maybe it's the cuing on the move instead of before it. I dunno, I just know I get really irritated. Hmph!

Vicki - Study, study, study! You're going to be a great PT!

Robin - I'm sorry about your co-worker. Have fun with IMAX 3.

Liann - WTG with those pushups! Too funny about your DH and the dog. Hope both their foreheads are okay!

Gin - That is one heck of a workout! Enjoy your week with your nephews!!

Kara - I love the PS series. I have a couple of trips coming up with 3 days in between so guess what I'm doing? All 3 PS workouts back to back to back days. I get plenty of cardio on the road, so the strength workouts will be a welcome change.

Kim - When I travel for work, I do a lot of TJ or Cathe's kickboxing workouts. MIC hi/lo is another good one. Depending on where I'm staying I might use cardio equipment in the gym, too. Oh, and I take along a resistance band and some tubing for light strength training.

Have a great evening everyone!

Road Trip Check-in

We will be partying with Cathe and friends in Jersey in 2 shorts months! I am so excited!

God blessed me with a restful Sunday. After my quiet time, I had a blast with Step Works again. This is one of my all-time favorite Cathe workouts. I never imagined that I would love anything as much as I love Rhythmic Step, but I adore the choreography in this one. I feel so light on my feet when I do the full-circle turns!

I went to the grocery story on the way home from church, read articles on clean eating after lunch, enjoyed a nap, assembled a small photo album to share with friends during the Road Trip, returned to the book store last night, and skimmed through more books.

I pulled Pam Smith’s books off my bookshelf at home Saturday morning and started reviewing them too. Everything I am reading is pointing me in the same direction. Eat more complex carbs. Eat more fiber. Enjoy more cardio. This is very affirming because this is intuitively what I know works for me. I realize that this goes against the grain, but 60 percent carbs, 20 percent protein, and 20 percent fat is what my body loves! I am a cardio lover too!

I woke up early this morning, enjoyed my quiet time, and did the premix that combines the kickboxing drills and stability ball abs from Kick, Punch, & Crunch with the standing leg work from Leg and Glutes. I love this premix!

I am experimenting with eating for maximum energy. I know what works for me in general, but I am still experiencing an energy crisis that hits me every afternoon. I need to focus on drinking more spring water because the summer heat may be wiping me out. It is hot in Central Texas this month.

I took a nap after work and jogged on my rebounder instead of going to the club tonight.

Vicki, I would love to have you for a personal trainer. There is no substitute for personal experience, and you have definitely been there!

Robin, I am so sorry about your co-worker.

Liann, great job on the push-ups!

Kim, I shamelessly enjoy natural peanut butter. Yummy!

Laura, will you be spending time in Texas during your furlough? I am within driving distance of Fort Worth.

Blessings,
Heather B.
