Road Trip Check-in: Monday, April 16

Liann

Cathlete
Wow, I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet. Hopefully, I'm not just missing it and starting another one!

Yesterday I did Step, Jump, & Pump and then took the rest of the day easy. I am still experiencing some major butt and legg DOMS from doing Muscle Max on Saturday. My poor DH is limping around the house as well. Next time I'll have to make him do the squats WITH weights. ;)

Today, I plan to run over to the gym at lunch and do about 30 - 40 minutes of cardio (either treadmill or elliptical). That is all I will be able to fit in since I have to work tonight as well.

ShellyC - I have to admit that my hubby can do more toe push-ups than me, but I do my little girl knee push-ups much slower and with better form. ;) One of these days, I'll be able to do them on my toes too! That's my goal at least.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Liann....I think I could probably do more push-ups than my DH...:)...they are not my favorite thing to do though!

I was gone over the weekend to Reno to watch my nephew John play in his 1st Wheelchair Basketball Tournament! It was amazing to watch these men of all ages play. For those of you that don't know. My 21 year old nephew was paralyzed from the waist down in a freak motorcycle accident last July. It is truly wonderful seeing him get involved in this sport!!

I am planning on a 4-5 mile run today, floor legs, abs and GS BSB.

Enjoy your day today...:)

Liann - I am one of those crazy people who loves pushups. I actually look forward to them. I can do about 2 sets of 10 on my toes but have to have a break in between. I credit Jari's ripped series for getting me where I am with pushups. My DH can do a lot more on his toes, but his form stinks. :)

Carole - wow that is great that your nephew is getting involved in basketball after his paralysis. Sounds like you have a great workout planned for today! :)

I had a dream about the road trip. I don't remember the details but I know I didn't want to wake up! I did half of power max yesterday and 20 minutes cycling. Hope everyone has an awesome Monday!

Happy Monday to all the roadtrippers!!! I'll be heading out soon for my long run of 14 miles:)

Liann- Hey it's the FORM that counts!!! Men do tend to cheat alot more don't they? Using momentum, etc so they can lift heavier, do more ,etc ;-) Have a great cardio day and I hope your work goes well tonight.

Hi again Carole!

Tess- I have yet to dream about the RT. You think I would because I sure to think about it alot! Isn't it August yet?;-) Great workout yesterday!

Time to get moving!

ShellyC

Good morning all...

OMG.. the rain here is relentless. They actually cancelled alot of schools because of the flooding. Unreal!

Liann... Next time make him use those weights!! That would be pretty good entertainment the next day for you, huh?

ShellyC... wow, I admire your running 14 miles. I can sustain alot of exercise, but running is just not my thing. I do walk/run with short bursts of running, but for some reason I have just never been able to get into the running consistently. And I so agree with the thing about men using momentum! It's a sore subject between my DH and I. every time I tell him to slow down and maybe lower the weight, he huffs at me!! ( men are just big babies sometimes, aren't they?)

Carole... you must be so proud of your nephew! I am so glad he is using all of his abilities to do something positive. I will keep him in my prayers that he will continue to exceed all possibility in his life.

Tess... LOVE pushups? You go girl! I have a love/hate affair with pushups. I am pretty good at them, but I have to say the thought of them make want to do just about anything else. ( Of course I do torture myself with them anyway!)

Off to the basement to do B&G. I teach cardio/sculpt tonight as well. I had PB this morning, but kept it to a minimum, so my goal for the rest of the day is to fight the urge to shove my spoon in that jar and go nuts. I hid it in the back of the fridge so I wouldn't see it every time I open the door, but of course I am the one who hid it, so how good is that plan?? LOL

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning Roadtrippers!

My workout for today is GS B,S and B plus 20 min steday state run!

Liann have fun with either treadmill or elliptical today!

Carole enjoy your 4-5 mile run today, floor legs, abs and GS BSB!

ShellyC enjoy your long 14 mil. run!

Tess great workout yesterday!

Have a great one!

Good morning.

Today its IMAX 3 and yoga.

S none
L empanada veggie with salad, lorne doone hundered calorie pack

Tess...I had a dream about the RT but mine was about losing my luggage and not having my sneakers and not being able to work out. I cried and I cried...don't know why I didn't just buy new shoes.

Thanks for inspiring me today...

KIM

Hey roadtrippers!!!

What a lousy day outside :( The river near my house is flooding and the road is completely under a foot of water! Crazy!!!

Yesterday DH and I went to see "Spamalot", it was absolutely hilarious...just what we needed after Saturday's travel disaster!

I did high step challenge this morning for the first time, it was fun. I was sweating my butt off even though I had to modify some of the higher impact moves. We live on the 2nd floor of a 2 family house and I hate to jump on the floors early in the morning! It was still a good workout, though, especially because my butt is still sore from doing GS legs on Saturday!

I may do some extra cardio this afternoon depending on how much homework I can get done...we'll see!

Have a great day everyone!!!
Josie

Happy Monday everyone!
I finished the CTX series yesterday and really enjoyed it. Does anyone else think the biceps section is REALLY hard on CTX Kickbox? My biceps have never been so sore(and not a good sore). Did some yoga today and will be doing the Timesaver dvd this week. Now to catch up on personals:

Vicki-I am really impressed with your son's band and I really like their music. Good luck with the peanut butter challenge. I have the same issue with almond butter:9

Jean-I love your new puppy. Does she have a name yet??

Shelly-I thought I was going to have a semi light week with Timesaver, now you have me scared of #1's pushups! We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Josie-Glad you have recovered from the trip. I'm sure you were exhausted! Also wanted to tell you I love your kitties names!

Liann-That's great that your hubby works out with you! Wish mine would!

Kim-A Florida vacation sounds great! It's still cold and yucky here. What new yoga workout did you get?

Mona-Hope your project went well. That sounds like a tremendous amount of work.

Cheryl-Congrats on your kickboxing test! That's awesome.

Heather-Glad your days are sunny again and things are back to normal. Please try not to let silly things people say get to you; but I know it's easier said than done.

Randi-I just saw your pictures and love the one with the lab and guinea pig. Too cute!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Kara

Carole - That is awesome about your nephew getting involved in a sport after such an injury. Very inspiring! :)

Tess - I think I will like push-ups too as soon as I can do them on the toes. I can feel my arms getting stronger, so maybe I'll be able to start weening myself away from the knees soon.

Shelly - My husband totally cheats! He pops those push-ups really fast and cannot do them slow like Cathe at all. I keep trying to tell him to slow down and watch his form, but you can't tell a guy anything! ;)

Vicki - Good job resisting the peanut butter! It is very difficult! Lately I have had a hard time resisting almond butter!

Belinda - I love the GS series!

Kim - How do you like Imax 3 compared to the others (If you've tried the others)? I have 1 and 2 and have considered getting the third one, but have held off on it. As far as your dream, I have had similar ones. I dream that I either forget my camera or forget to ever take any pictures and that I keep trying to leave the house for the road trip, but never make it out!

Josie - Glad you enjoyed Spamalot! You deserved a laugh after that driving fiasco. ;)

Kara - Sounds like we have the same almond butter issues! I have to admit that I have to practically force my DH to workout with me, but he is always glad afterwards. It's cute watching him try to do the warm-up and cool down though. Gracefull he is not!!!

Hope everyone's workouts go/went well! I spent about 30 minutes on the elliptical machine at the gym today. Actually, I'm not sure what this machine was. It looked like an elliptical, but it changes elevation to make it like you are walking up hill. It must be new. Regardless, it was a good work out. :)

Hi Ladies:)
I am sooooo upset! I got my first speeding ticket 10 mph over the speed limit:( I was sort of crying but at least I had my sunglasses on so the officer couldn't see that. Do you get a lawyer to take that off your record or just pay it?:'(

Thank You Kara :) My lab "Bailey" and guinea pig "Dookie" are best buds.

Right now I'm still in shock and upset I got a ticket so I'm holding off on working out right now. But I will let you know what I did later
Hope everyone else has a great Day!
Randi

Good Afternoon RTers!

Today I did IMAX2 and will go to yoga class tonight.

Liann--My goal also is to do toe pushups. I am working in that direction by doing negative pushups now. They are soooo hard for me!

ShelleyC--how was your long run? Do you go with a group or alone? I miss long training runs, but I keep getting injured so I wonder if my days of long runs are over.

Kim--Are you a WW leader? I have been a lifetime member for 16 years.

Gin

Kara-- QuickFix Power Yoga. I like it because its fast flow yoga just going from pose to pose. I have gotten the best "arm" results with these video when I add it in to my regular workout. Even just doing 10 minutes of it a day.

Liann--I loved Imax 3. Really a butt kicker to be honest I didn't finish it the first time and only the people on this board will get why that made me soooo happy!! :)

Gin-- I am a WW leader and a absolute fanatic about the program and how well it works. My favorite quote for my classes: There are a million reasons why you can't do this...give me one why you can!

Have a good night
Randi

Good evening everyone.

I had a pretty yucky weekend with no time for workouts and a lot of crappy eating. I'm happy to say I ate well today and did get a workout done. I did Tracey's Sweatfest Step. This is the third time I did this workout, on an 8 inch step this time. The first part made me huff and puff, but not so much the second part. I don't think this one is destined to be one of my favorites.

Carole, that is great news about your nephew. I'm very impressed with him.

I had a bad night's sleep last night. The wind kept me tossing and turning all night. I'm headed that way now and hope to be better rested and more communicative tomarrow. Night.

Just finished my own little mishmosh from the Classics, plus the abs from Step Heat. I haven't felt very satisfied from my workouts lately. Somehow I need to get over the slump.

Hi all! I guess better late than never. I did a 4 mile run on Saturday, followed by 3 hours in the garden, then 6 hours stripping and sanding on the boat on Sunday. My thighs are fried! Today I did manage Step and Intervals followed by GS Biceps, Abs and a nice long stretch.

Robin: I couldn't sleep for all the wind last night either. It was blowing so hard I thought our shutters were going to fly off!

Phyllis: I'm with you on the morning workouts (but not as early as you!).

Ivorygorgon: I get in a slump every now and then. A little spending at Collagevideo.com sometimes helps!

Gin and Kim: I'm also a WW lifetimer. It will be 4 years come November.

Mona: Please let us know how your project install did. Inquiring minds want to know!

Tess: It's kind of strange my relationship with pushups. I look forward to doing them, but then can't wait for them to be over once I start.

Well it's late and I need to get my weights out for tomorrow's workout. Hope to check in earlier tomorrow too!

Road Trip Check-in

This was another Monday of persevering through my circumstances. I started fighting a sore throat last week. I had a tickle in my throat last night and a coughing fit at bedtime that kept me awake until well after midnight. I was tired this morning, but I pressed on and did the Butts and Guts leg blast premix with all those walking lunges and firewalkers. Oh my! I love this workout. I am planning to alternate this one with Gym Style Legs.

My eating was clean today, and I drank plenty of spring water. I was wiped out after work, so I took a long nap. I hope I can sleep tonight. I still have a tickle in my throat. Hopefully, a Benadryl will knock me out and take care of this itchy throat. My meals and snacks are packed for tomorrow, so it is time for a warm bubble bath and a restful night of sleep.

Liann, I love IMAX3. The choreography is dancy and more complex than IMAX2. I love, love, love the step premix on this DVD. The blasts are so much fun on a rebounder. The impact is very high, and the blasts are super intense. IMAX2 and IMAX3 are equally fun. IMAX2 has better music, and IMAX3 has better choreography. IMAX3 is much more challenging than IMAX2. The original Interval Max is my least favorite, but I enjoy it when I want a good workout without having to think (because the choreography is so basic).

Blessings,
Heather B.
