RIP Paul Newman

Heard on the news this morning that Paul Newman has passed away from cancer. He was one of the greats in so many ways. He will be missed

An admirable person - which from Hollywood is rare these days.

I literally gasped when I saw this thread title. Just got back home after several hours out of the house.

And my sympathies to Joanne Woodward (another class act both on and off the stage/screen) and the rest of Paul's family.

I heard this afternoon. My mother was always "Ga - Ga " over him. Obviously she was closer to his age tha I am. One of the greats, he will be missed.

I'm so sad to hear this! I have been so seperate from the media world...that I missed this. Oh, this just breaks my heart! Cool Hand Luke was a great movie.... I will continue to think of him with every boiled egg I eat.

Hats off to an awesome actor!! So, sad to hear he is gone.......

I've been out all morning and I just heard this. I am so very sad. He was one of my favorite actors. I loved that he put his money where his mouth was through his charities and political activism. What a great guy. My favorite of his films was "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." No one could say "Lock the door" with the sexiness that Mr. Newman did.
