Just wanted to let you gals know how I did in my first race.
Heads up...the night before things didn't go to well. We were staying at my brothers house and his baby was up most of the night, which woke my baby up. In total I had about 4 hours of sleep. When I started to gather my things up for my race, i came to find out that while my Ipod had been charging alnight, the songs were also erased so I had to use my sisters Ipod which was alot bigger then I liked...but I knew I could manage. And also...when I woke, it was pouring...great, running my first race in the rain.
By the time 8 rolled around I was all set and the rain had stopped. According to my calculations my first mile had been done in little over 8 mins. I thought each mile was going to be marked but I didn't see another sign until I was at the 6 mile mark.
During the end of the race people really started to speed up (b/c they were use to this race) I was afraid to follow the crowd b/c I didn't know if they had saved their energy for the last mile when I saw the finish line I sped up a little but the barp zone was comming!
The results, I really enjoyed the race and will do it again next yr. I ran 10 miles in 78:33. My place was 372 out of 2047 people! AND 9/124 out of my age group and gender which was 25-29 yrs old.
Thanks to all you gals who cheered me on! Lets just say I haven't stopped eating today and boy..are my legs sore!
