Hey guys. What size stability ball do you all use?

I think the one I have is too small. I'm 5'6''tall and a 65cm is too small for me. The next size is 75cm and 85cm. I also read that these balls should be replaced every year. :eek:

I thought the 3 usual sizes were 55, 65, and 75 cm. I use a 55cm one and I sometimes wonder if it's a little small for me--I'm 5'5". I have wondered what size petite Cathe uses.

I actually have a few sizes because I like different size stability balls for different workouts. I prefer to use a 55cm ball for PUB abs (pikes, etc), but I use a larger one if I will be sitting or lying on the ball.

I just found a really cool pink 65cm stability ball at TJ Maxx today. I also have an orange 55cm and a red 75cm. I'm a bit of an equipment addict, though. (I even have 45cm stability balls for my kids).

Hello:)

I thought I'd chime in here. I sell exercise equipment in Mpls. I get this question often!! The ball is the right size for you if you can sit on it & your legs are at 90 degrees with your feet flat on the floor. You can add air to make it bigger if needed & vise versa. The recommendations from all of our vendors is;

45 cm: under 5' tall
55cm: 5'- 5'7"
65cm: 5'8" - 6'3"
75cm: taller than 6'3"
85cm: special applications

So, I would say you have the correct ball for you:)

I'm about 5'6" and the 55cm ball is a bit too small for me, although I use it for PUB abs and a couple other things. When sitting on a ball I need a 65cm ball in order to get my legs at 90 degrees with my feet.

I think my legs are a little long and that's probably why the 55cm is too small when I'm sitting on it. But I guess you have to take a person's frame into consideration, too.

Thanks for that information. I'm going to buy the 65cm and see how it goes. I also have long legs.

I have a 65cm but am 5'2", it always seems to work for me but maybe I don't have it aired up all the way. Wonder if some things would be easier with a smaller ball? Have to maybe add it my holiday list.

I was trying to do a Patrick Goudeau workout on the ball and in his intro he stated that you have the proper size ball when your thighs are parallell to the floor when you sit on it. My behind was... low. I thought my ball was properly inflated but pumped more air in when I realized I have the biggest one they make. It worked. So you might want to try a bit more air to see.
