Good moring fellow roadtrippers!

My name is Belinda I am almost 44 years of age and I live in El Paso, TX. We relocated (my husband is in the military and I have been married for almost 24 years !!)to the states in 2004 after living in Germany ( this is where I am from!) for almost 17 years. I have a son (18) and a daughter Alesia (21) who is also my best friend and will join me on the RT. In 2005 my DH bought the Hard Core Series for me! But I really didn't get into Cathe workouts until last Nov.06. I went to a Health Fair (in Now. 06) the Army provides for spouses and I had a wake up call!:D I didn't relized that my weight and % bf. went up so much! I almost had a heart attack!! I used to run in Germany1 I coundn't run once I moved to El Paso due to the heat and knee problems .Immediately I had to change something! My first rotation I did was the Nov.06 one. I honestly didn't think I would last a few day! But I did! Cathe really motivated me ! I lost a lot of weight with that rotation. I am hooked to Cathe's workouts and rotations ever since. I still have ways to go, but I know I am in the right place!! I hope you all can accept an old German lady!!! I know sometimes it's hard to get to know people over the internet, sometimes things doesn't come across. I hope this makes sense?
I look forward to getting to know you all before August!:D :D

Happy Birthday ShellyC! Have a wonderful day!
Belinda:) :)

RE: Road Trip Check-in!!!

Bekki--Thanks for starting this thread. It is great to get to know everyone before the RT!

HeatherB--You are from Central TX? I live in N TX. I also do aqua jogging.

Lorrie--I'm so impressed that you are doing the Komen 3 day. I was interested a couple of years ago, but was scared I wouldn't be able to raise all of the money.

ShellyC--Happy 5oth Birthday!! I will be 48 2 weeks after the RT.

6swans4me--Now I understand your name. Six kids must keep you quite busy!

Belinda--Another TX girl!! How fun to be able to workout with your daughter.

TracyJ--Congrats on your new baby!

I am a 47 yo Cathe addict from N.TX, married with 2 grown sons. I started years ago with The Firm and discovered Cathe on FitTV about 3 years ago. I also run (have done marathons), aqua jog, and do yoga. Clean eating is my BIGGEST challenge.

Can't wait to meet everyone. Don't know anyone yet!! YIKES!!:7

RE: Road Trip Check-in!!!

Hello again!!!Just checking in on the check-in.:)

Bekki-Thanks for starting this thread!!!It will be nice to get to know everyone before the road trip.

Heather B.-You are too sweet. I might have to try another check-in at some point, but this one comes first.:)

Kara-I have relatives who live in Crescent Springs,KY. Is that near you? I also have family in Cincinnati. I love to get Montgomery Inn ribs when I'm in town.

Lorrie-You are definately going to have a full of fitness month in August. I can't imagine doing a 60 mile walk. That is amazing!!

Shelly C.-Happy Birthday!!!I hope you are having a great day. To answer your earlier question, I teach a pilates/yoga blend 2x a week. The gym where I work has been doing away with step classes.:-(

Kim-The Wal-mart story is too funny!!

Wendy-I usually do the walk/run mix on the treadmill, too, but today I did a jog/sprint interval workout so the 5 miles took me 55 minutes.

Carol-How did your P90X based rotation work? I keep debating on getting the actual system, but I need to save my $ for the road trip and I already have so many workouts. I'd love to hear what you did using the Cathe workouts.

Belinda-That is so great that your daughter is coming to the road trip with you. I love the name Alesia.

Tracy J.-Congratulations on the baby!!!

Tracy from Delaware-Did you see that Tracy Stahle will be on the road trip? I haven't done any of her workouts, but I hear good things about them.

Phyllis-Since you are only 40 minutes from Cathe's gym you might have to be the unofficial tour guide.:) :)

I hope I didn't forget anyone. Have a great rest of the weekend.

Beth

RE: Road Trip Check-in!!!

6Swans4Me -- Wow, you must be busy with 6 kids and homeschooling 3 of them. I'll have to keep that in mind when *I* feel busy, lol!

Tracy from DE -- PM'd you. I also cross-train with other instructors (though sometimes it feels like cheating!). I just ordered 2 of the new CIAs and both of Tracey Staehle's new cardios as well. I also really love Powerstrike. I tried but did not care for TJ or Amy Bento, though I do have some Jari as well.

For those that asked, I used a generic P90X classic rotation and plugged in my Cathes (used S&H for Phase 1 and GS for Phase 2) and whichever cardio fit the category (I used Cathe, Powerstrike, Tracey Staehle, and Kelley Coffey). I did make a small change in that on yoga day, I did a short steady-state cardio (30-45 mins) and then yoga (but never a 90 min one, just too long for my taste). I made wonderful strength and muscle mass gains. It was HARD but worth it. Now I'm looking forward to doing some total body and circuit workouts again :) I was also previously planning to do a "real" P90X rotation this summer (starting July 1) but with the RT now, I'm not sure. We'll see. I'll be out of the country from June 6-20 on vacation so starting before then is not really an option. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

Happy Birthday ShellyC.

I am 51 years old. I have ten children (3 girls and 7 boys). the ages are 33, 29, 23, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 8, and my baby is 6! Yes, they are all mine and from the same husbband! (ha-ha)

I have been doing Cathe for 12 years. I started out with Mega Step Blast and Step Max. She has been a life saver. I was able to stop going to a health club when my 8th was born. It was such a hassle bringing all the kids to the daycare. There was so much sickness there. I love working out at home and doing what I want to do when I want to do it!

I have been a member of this board since Jan 1, 2000. As you can see, I do not post real often. But I visit the board daily!

I have never been anywhere like this RT by myself. Since I still have 7 kids at home, I rarely hav time to myself. Once a year my husband and I go overnight by ourselves. This will be so nice to be able to meet everyone on the RT.

I have never joined any check-ins either. This will be great.

I have a black belt in kickbox karate. I will be going for my first degree on April 14. I also have 7 of my children in karate.

I also have 5 boys who play hockey. As a matter of fact they have just finished up their 7 month season today!

I am glad to meet all of you - I will print up what all of you have written and keep it, so I can keep track of who all of you are. Sometimes that is the only way for me to keep it in my mind.

RE: Road Trip Check-in!!!

Hi everyone.

My name is Jean. I just turned 44. I too live in TX (Dallas/Ft. Worth area). I've been married almost 24 years. DH does not understand my obession with Cathe, but he tolerates it. I am a dreamer by nature, thus the name. I dream of some day, being really fit, totally organized, & content with every aspect of my life. The day that happens, I will wake up and realize it was all just a dream. LOL.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. I went on the last RT and didn't know anyone. I wasn't posting on the boards much back then and didn't know who I was meeting with the exception of my friend Gayle. Gayle and I knew each other from a thread on weight watchers and it was so neat meeting her in person. It was so great making that kind of connection. This year I hope to be a little less shy and meet more Cathe fans and be able to put more names with faces. Of course meeting Cathe and her crew again is so exciting. This year's trip sounds like such a blast. I feel really privileged to be going, especially since I was invoice #105. Can't wait to meet everyone. Too bad this only happens once every couple of years.

Jean

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jacqueline and I am from Central PA. I am 25 years old and I am going to school for Respiratory Theraphy. I have a boyfriend but no children, besides my cat and two pit bulls;)

About four years ago I was obese and unhapppy. I finally got my butt in gear and started doing workout DVDs. I would do easy workouts like Crunch, Kathy Smith, Karen Voight ect. However after I would do them for a couple of weeks they would always get easy, boring and I would lose motivation. Some people in a fitness related forum started talking about some advanced workout by someone named Cathe. I thought what the heck, and I gave them I try. I bought Imax 2 and have been hooked ever since. I lost about 50 pounds. I am still about 10 pounds overweight but I have started taking the weight off again this year. My goal is to get down to around 145, meaning I still have aboutn 20 pounds to lose total.

I was unable to go no the last roadtrip because it overlaped with my beach plans but I was so happy I got in for 2007.

Today I took advantage of the nice weather and went for my first run of my running season! My current rotation has the Gym Styles, and Imax and some running. In another month or so, whenever I feel ready, I will probably do a round of P90x. I bought it last Dec but for some reason just can not get motivated to do it.:-(

To Heather and anyone else who may go in time to visit Philly, try to do a trolley tour. They are excellent and Phil. is soooo beautiful.
So many historic landmarks and homes.
I've almost talked myself into going early. I mean it is really, really beautiful there.

Cheryl- my jaw dropped in awe reading your intro post!! Holey moley, mother of 10 and a black belt in karate! No wonder you've never had the time to go anywhere by yourself. We will be so honored to have you there!

Gin- yipppeeee, another runner :7 I finished my first marathon last January. (PF Chang's in Phoenix) Unfortunately, I was dealing with injuries and wasn't able to complete it in anywhere near the time I hoped for. I'll be trying it again next Dec in Las Vegas!

Jennifer- welcome and thank you for the B-day wishes! A mom to two teenagers? I'll bet you are an inspiration to them, even if they don't admit it;-)

Jean- You must be Gayle(banslug)'s friend she mentioned on the cheetah check in!!!!! I think the world of Gayle, she's terrific.... are you a runner too?

NancyJ- Glad you could join us! I have no children myself (only dogs and a DH who acts like a big kid;-) ) I have nothing but respect for you Moms with kids who can fit in everything you do in a day!!!

I'm off to take a spin on my motorcycle to pick up the paper!

Hello everyone!

I will turn 32 just before the roadtrip (August 4). I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas and am a physical therapist. I do not have any children, but I consider my German Shepherd dog (Sophie) one. I am a huge animal lover and look forward to adopting a sister for Sophie soon!

It is so great to read about everyone. I have been working out with Cathe for 1 1/2 years and have most of her DVDs (I became hooked very quickly). I read this forum daily, but I rarely post. I guess I am a little shy like several others have previously posted. My family and friends can't believe I am actually going to venture out on this road trip alone. I really look up to Cathe and her crew and am so excited about having the opportunity to meet everyone.

I usually combine Cathe workouts with gym workouts. I started my first official rotation last week. I just finished the first week of Cathe's Jan 06 "Let's Work" Rotation. I am glad to have survived the first week, and hope to make it through week 2! I look forward to hearing more about all the road trippers!

It's great to meet everybody!
I am #94

My plan for this week:
March 25 2007

This week is going to be a week of total body, circuits, running, and ratios for eating will be 40/30/30. I have been sick for a bit but am feeling better. I am going to do the best I can on my proposed workouts but am taking the option for an extra rest day if I need it.

Week's Tentative Plan
S - Rest - I decided I should have a total rest weekend and begin with a vengance tomorrow morning!
M - Itread 13 intervals as many as I can do
T - Cardio and Weights
W - Itread 10 Marathon Training plus one mile
T - Yoga Shakti
F - Boot Camp
S - Long Run - Cardio Coach 7 plus whatever to make 6 miles

Nutrition for Today
I have not been paying too much attention to ratios while I have been sick - making sure I get my 5 meals. Today was my traditional cheat meal day and I had BBQ.

I'm Kim (second Kim from what I can tell) from North Carolina. I am married (7 years) with no children although I have a gang of nieces and nephews and godchildren who fill my life right up. My husband was active duty military until very recently.

I have always loved to exercise but it took Weight Watchers to help me lose 45 pounds and get to the weight I wanted. I discovered Cathe on FitTV in my search for instructors who knew how to STEP which I think is a lost art. Doing Cathe actually inspired me to get certified as an aerobics instructor which I do when my day job as a lawyer allows me to.

I can't think of anything I like more in the world than a group of folks of all sizes and levels stepping, lifting, and stretching together to really loud music.

I am the opposite of shy and when I don't know anyone I have a terribly annoying habit of just walking up and talking to people. If it happents to you don't worry just nod politely and eventually I will go away.

:) :)

Can't wait to meet you all.
