So far so good.

Have cut down to one and a half cigarettes a day, with no noticeable side effects!!!!!

Man . . . weaning myself off of nicotine is easier than I thought; I don't feel any different at all.

Thanks again, all of you who shared your concern! I'll keep you posted the next time they let me out of my straitjacket!

WAy to go! I have heard that once you are completely done smoking it will take 3 days for the physical craving to go away. But since you are wheening yourself off there might not be any physical cravings. Wouldn't that be nice?!
Sounds like that might just be the case too, yay!

Kathy

I've been wondering about how you were doing with it, Annette, but I didn't want to bug you. Good luck and keep us posted!

I found with quitting smoking that it was the psychological addiction that was more difficult than the physical. Realizing, I was not experienceing a real craving and just overriding the more compulsive aspects of my personality was the key.

Of course, you, A-Jock, don't strike me as the compulsive type! When I read your original post, I felt confident you would accomplish your task. I can't think of anyone with a more no nonsense approach to things in general and add to the vast stores of fitness knowledge you possess and you make it seem almost easy! Not to minimize your effort in any way! It's a tough thing to do and you are doing it and doing it well!

:D Congrats to you Annette! I've been wondering how you have been doing and it sounds like you are doing GREAT! Keep it up and before you know it you will be smoke free!

That is GREAT AJ! Sooo happy for you!

When will you be ready for your tampon?

(Translation, or explaination, better be headed by Jo-Jo this time around.)

My tampon will be ready for smokin' after this last pack o' Pall Malls, which should be another week and a half. Will be taking it to Gloucester for X-mas.

Jo-Jo - step up and explain, please!

A-Jock

Okay, we won't torture you: someone made the comment this past Sunday that my new Nicotrol Inhaler device looks like a tampon. If that's not an incentive to quit I don't know what is.

A-jock,
I just read this thread so thanks for explaining. And just for the record, there is no doubt in my mind that you will kick the habit!

Joanne

That is great, AJock! How many cigarrettes were you smoking before? I quit after smoking 2 packs a day for seven years. It is tough, but exercising makes it all that much easier....Good Luck!!!
