Debbie, I was wondering if you could look at this rotation and see if you think it would be good for me. i'm tryin to lose about 10 lbs. I tend to gain muscle easily in my arms but have a hard time seeing definition in my abs and my legs can get a little big. I'm just trying to get more scupted and lean out my lower body. Whats do you think of this..

Sun- cardio
mon- muscle endurance
tues- cardio
wed- legs and glutes
thurs-power yoga
Fri- cardio
sat- muscle max

What do you think? I was thinkin I might need a full day to rest. If you think I do should I give up a cardio day or weight day? I don't wanna give up the yoga. Thanks debbie!

Wow, I was going to do something similar to this for 4 weeks as I need to shed about 10# as well. I like your breakdown, but you do need one rest day in there.

I was going to do something like this:

Mon.: Cardio
Tues: Total Body (MM, ME, MIS, any premix with total body)
Wed: Power Yoga
Thur: Cardio
Fri: Total Body
Sat.: Cardio
Sun.: Rest

I don't think you need a leg day all to itself when you are doing total body workouts. If that's what you want, though, do this:

Mon.: Cardio
Tues: Upper Body only
Wed: Cardio
Thur: Power Yoga
Fri: Lower Body
Sat: Cardio
Sun: Rest

I like the second one better for myself because I want to lessen my muscle mass. I've gained a lot of muscle and it's starting to look unnatural to me. I don't like it. I want to get back to being lean and athletic looking so I'm going to try this.

Thanks Debbie! The second rotation you wrote me will lessen muscle mass more? Why is that if you don't mind me asking? I don't mind the amount of muscle I have now I just want it to look more sculpted and lean out my thighs and butt a little more. Do you think I should try the first or second rotation you wrote?

What's a good power yoga DVD? Do any of you have one you'd recommend? Thanks.

I have rodney yee's power yoga. He's great. Its still takes enough stabilization and strength that its a light workout and the stretching makes me feel great. I also like that its relaxing as well and a stress relief for me.

Bryan Kest has excellent power yoga workouts. He's my favorite. Rodney Yee is good too. I also have a couple good ones by Karen Voight.

Actually, both rotations are almost the same except one has you doing 3 days weight training and the other has you doing two days. In my case, I am so use to weight training 4 days a week working each muscle group once. Either of these rotations (and I decided to use the first example instead) is having me do only 2 days of weight training, working each body part twice, but not as intense. This will do one of two things depending on the body type:

1. Keep muscle mass as is but lean me out.

2. Lessen muscle mass and lean me out.

I'm hoping for option #2 but my body seems to increase it's muscle mass easily. I'll see what happens after 4 weeks and go from there.

Ah ok I got ya. Thanks for all the help debbie

Debbie, What do you think of THIS rotation? I felt like I wasn't doing enough arms to really sculp them so I added a circuit workout...

Monday- Cardio
Tues- total body
Wed- power yoga
Thurs- circiut
Fri- OFF
Sat- cardio
Sun- total body

What do you think? Too much weights?

Also do you think ifs enough cardio? only 2 hours of true cardio and one circuit workout which has cardio intervals. What do you think?

I think it looks great. This is almost the same setup as my June Get Ready for Summer rotation.

Cool. Thanks Debbie! So I went to the dr today and my suspisions have been confirmed. I've gained 8 lbs. since I was last there in march :-/. You think this rotation will help me drop all this extra weight and get down to 150-155 lbs.?

Power Yoga Sub

Debbie - I too want to lean out. I feel I am bulking a little. What type of workout should I sub for the Power Yoga?

Thanks for posting your rotation.

Sharon

Debbie,

I have to laugh, I came here looking to to see what type of rotations there were for weight loss and had to laugh...this is exactly what I've been working on for the last couple weeks. I've dropped about 5 pounds so far. I have a lot more to go...but...I'm working on it diligently as usual.

But I'll be thinking about you while I'm doing it...it's nice to know that GREAT minds think a like.

Good to see you! Hope your still enjoying your bike.

Hi Celeste! Too cool on you doing a rotation like this as well. I have lost 3# on it so far. I'm enjoying it alot too. Compared to my usual workouts, this is kind of an active recovery rotation for me. It feels good not to kill myself with each and every workout.

I am still enjoying my bike! Hope you are having a great summer so far!
