Hi.

Today was HCE #1. I always forget their real names so I just list them as 1,2 and 3. I also tacked on the last 2 cycles of HSC to complete the workout. I just got back from gluing on ribbons on hats for the Race for the Cure. We do this every year for the survivor hats. Next Saturday I will be getting up at 4 am to distribute all of the the hats to the survivors at their breakfast. Then, I will do the race! It is a LONG morning, but I always love doing this.

Liann...I hope you liked Jump Snap. I really want to buy it! I saw where it wasn't on the QVC website anymore.

Tess...The weather is finally better here. This morning was awful though. I had to drive out to one of my schools that is about 25 minutes from where I live. It was almost all flooded. I was pretty nervous b/c the water was right up to the main highway and lots of bridges were closed! I saw some people being evacuated from their homes. Lots of my kiddos couldn't get to school either. I am glad the rain moved out this morning!

Randi...WTG lifting as much as Cathe!

I guess I need to get to bed now.

Hi PYGFOers. I've been dealing with a case of shingles and have had to let my workouts slide. The antiviral meds made me too dizzy and tired to exercise. I took the last one this morning and have been slowly and steadily feeling better, so I hope to get sweaty this afternoon after work. Maybe a 4DS workout. Have a great Friday.

PYGFO Sisters:

Good morning and happy Friday! I am alive and well in Texas. Wild storms have been knocking my computer out at night, and I battled the blues for 2 days (dark and stormy days plus PMS) and was not sleeping well at night. It just dawned on me that I have not checked in since Monday night. Oops!

I did not have as much energy when I woke up Tuesday morning, so Cardio and Weights was a nice light workout. The choreography is simple (with a touch of dancy). The music adds a fun factor. The “heavy” upper body weight work is actually light for me now even matching Cathe’s weights on everything. I did not come close to Cathe’s weights when I first started her workouts, so I am getting stronger. I bounced on my rebounder Tuesday night.

Wednesday was a warfare day. The battles were intense physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. The dark and rainy weather triggered a case of the blues. I started waking up in the middle of the night and not sleeping well. I woke up after midnight, packed my meals and snacks, and was finally able to get back to sleep early in the morning. My favorite Kick, Punch, & Crunch cardio conditioning premix was my workout. It felt good to punch out my frustration and fatigue. It was not my best performance, but I kept moving. I bounced on my rebounder after work.

Praise God! The sun chased the storms away yesterday! It is good that I decided to listen to my body instead of following a planned rotation this month. I woke up after midnight again in the middle of a fierce storm, packed my meals and snacks, updated my journal, and read a book until I was able to sleep again. I slept later than usual yesterday morning and had to get to work early to meet new clients. After battling the blues Wednesday, I needed a fun burst of Cathe cardio for a mental health workout. I pulled out my happy workouts and enjoyed the warm-up of Lower Intensity Step and the Step, Jump, & Pump hi-lo and stretch. Fun and just the right intensity to make me smile and feel good inside.

The bright sun broke through the dark clouds during my lunch hour. Sunshine is an instant mood lifter, and I danced in the glory. Oh, I love sunshine and pretty spring weather!

I am keeping up with double cardio workouts (morning and evening). It is my goal to enjoy 4-5 Cathe cardio workouts every week and 4-5 club workouts. I went to the club last night and enjoyed a gentle recumbent bike workout while channel surfing. I do not have cable at home, so this could be a good way for me to enjoy shows and movies I do not have access to at home and burn some bonus calories. The club is sparkly clean now. The club director is cleaning the place himself, and every inch of it sparkles (including the pool and showers). I think he finally decided to do it himself if he wanted it done right. The only other club I have visited that is this clean is Cathe’s club in Jersey. I was very impressed during the Road Trip.

Speaking of the Road Trip, we were celebrating together in Jersey 8 months ago this morning. I decided to enjoy the Lower Intensity Step cardio premix this morning in honor of that. Fun, fun, fun!

Liann, I love the little chick in your new avatar!

Tess, are you using DVDs for your weight work or doing your own thing?

Randi, great job with the heavy weights!

Lara, I am glad you survived the storms. The weather has been wild here this week. I have been thinking about Hardcore Extreme and the Terminator. I need to pull those out. The circuit premix you enjoyed this week is fun, but you have to be alert and oriented to keep up with the fast changes!

Robin, I am keeping you in my prayers and hope you feel better soon. I vote for the LIS cardio premix!

It is time for my Friday morning cardio party. :7 Cathe is waiting for me! :) Yippee! :7 Have a fun and blessed Friday! :)

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hello ladies! On tap for tonight is GS legs. I'm going to be fried for the weekend!

Randi - I have been doing 3 day splits lately. I did the Slow & Heavy series last week and this week has been Gym Styles. I try to get one full body routine in once a week to hit everything twice. I have tried following a rotation, but I always end up changing it depending on my mood. I haven't stuck to one yet. :(

Hello.

I just got done with LoMax plus Blast premix. I also did KM leg conditioning drills and B&G Bonus Stability Abs. I feel great! DH is on the way to pick up a veggie pizza for me (pepperoni for him). We didn't feel like going anywhere tonight. I think we will stay in and watch a movie, or get caught up on some of our shows that are recorded.

Heather...I am completely with you on the sunshine! I am always happier and full of energy when the sun is shining!! I have had enough of this rain!! I hope you all get a break from it also. I really love HCE and the Terminator. Yes, you do have to be alert for that one. I have to pause it occasionally so I can get the right equipment set up.

Randi...I would be too nervous to lend out my Cathes!! I just never know what workout I will be in the mood to do, so I like to have all of them in front of me :) Good job on GS Legs. I am going to try to get to the GS series this weekend. GS Legs is a good one!

Liann...I am like you---I always change up what I am going to do. I haven't realy written a rotation out in awhile because I don't stick to it.

I hope you all enjoy your Friday evening!

Hello.

I just finished Amy's Hi/Low Knockout. It was fun. I was going to also do a GS, but my arms are still a little sore from my workout on Thursday. Maybe I'll do it later today or tomorrow. I may head out and do a little shopping and I also need to clean. I am meeting friends for dinner tonight at one of my favorite restaurants. I am sure I will eat a lot:9
Have a good Saturday!

PYGFO Sisters:

Glory! The weekend has finally arrived! I enjoyed the Lower Intensity Step cardio premix Friday morning. Fun, fun, fun! I stopped by Panera Bread on the way home from work and picked up an orange scone for my Friday night treat. Yummy! I savored every bite, and it was worth every calorie and fat gram. I am loving the process of restoring pleasure to eating.

I went to the club last night. I did not feel like getting in the pool, so I returned to the cardio room. I rode the regular bike and lasted all of 5 minutes. I do not know how anyone stands those seats for long. My butt was numb after a few minutes! Thankfully, one of the recumbent bikes was available soon. I met a man who lost 90 pounds in 9 months and has maintained his size for 5 years. Jim is a great encourager. His story is so inspiring. His whole family is obese, and he battled obesity most of his life. He looks amazing now, and his cholesterol is outstanding. He eats around 2,000 calories a day, enjoys treats in moderation, and burns it off with 90 minutes of cardio every day. He sometimes splits his cardio between morning and evening sessions like I am doing. My doctor prescribed 90 minutes of cardio as many days a week as possible. That seems to be the “magic” number. Jim also encouraged me to keep doing 30-40 minutes of weight training twice a week to keep from losing muscle. He lost his weight with 100 percent cardio but would add weight training in moderation if he had it to do over again. I love cardio, so this is music to my ears. I also met a nice couple who encouraged me to keep enjoying my weekend treats.

I bought some organic air chilled chicken breasts to enjoy next week. I am not a big meat eater, but I am craving it for some reason.

A friend told me this week that I am more settled and serene. She can “feel” the peace in my words. She is right on target. The scale robs me of peace and joy.

This was a restful Saturday. I am catching up on the sleep I lost during the stormy nights this week. I was awake bright and early this morning after sleeping restfully last night. My morning workout was the hi-lo segment of CIA 5004 with Christi Taylor. It is dancy and fun with a funky cool-down. I am enjoying these less intense weekend workouts with more intense Cathe cardio during the week.

I am experiencing intense food cravings too and satisfying them in moderation. I always have more of an appetite during PMS time. It is interesting to note that I am more sensitive to the way food makes me feel now that I am not focusing on my scale weight. I seem to have a greater body awareness this week. I ate an Amy’s organic broccoli pot pie (with a whole wheat crust and no MSG) and did not like the way it made me feel today. This was a very satisfying meal in the winter, but it is too heavy for warmer weather. I have always craved salads and lighter meals in the spring and summer now that I think about it. I do not feel bloated or puffy. I just feel heavy. I thrive on fruits, whole grains, potatoes or starchy veggies, and beans. I enjoy dairy, organic eggs, nuts, and natural peanut butter for protein and add other veggies for nutrition, but the complex carbs are what give me abundant energy. If I could get away with it, I would gladly live on bread, pasta, cheese, fruit, peanut butter, chocolate, potatoes, and sweet tea! Oh, I enjoyed a glass of sweet tea this afternoon.

I went to the club and jogged in the pool before church. This is a soothing and meditative workout that helps me prepare my heart for worship.

Worship was awesome and inspiring tonight. Our discipleship pastor delivered the message tonight. He is a former marathon runner, and I finally had an opportunity to visit with him. I was very surprised when he shared that he is an emotional eater. He stays trim with cardio, cardio, and more cardio. He is not running marathons anymore due to an injury, but he is still in great shape.

I planned menus for the week based on what sounds good. I need to wrap up my grocery shopping and prepare for the week tomorrow afternoon.

Blessings,
Heather B.
