Pumpkin butter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, as if I needed anything else to feed my pumpkin addiction, I just found this (and bought 3 jars LOL) at my gourmet grocery store. 5 carbs, 20 cals, zero fat!

It's more creamy. If I had to compare it w/anything, I'd say it's similar to apple butter. Except, ummm, more pumpkin-y. :D

Oh, LauraMax, I've been loving Pumpkin Butter for YEARS now!!! It is like apple butter, but tastes like pumpkin pie. It is fantastic on toast (with a dab of cream cheese!) or whole wheat bagels...or just off the spoon. It's so awesome!!

I LOVE pumpkin butter!! We have a large Amish community in the area and you can always find theirs in little shops around here.

ETA that I had the most scrumptious pumpkin spice glazed donut the other day. I can't stop thinking about it -- LOL! UGH!

Well where on earth have I been? I think this may very well replace my white chocolate PB addiction, esp. given the stats. ;)

has anyone ever

heard of pumpkin gooey butter cake?? all this talk about pumpkins makes me want to pull out that recipe which is very much not good for you, but very good!!!

i am going to have to find some pumpkin butter.....that sounds so good...i am always looking for an alternative to just plain old butter...

Gayla, I LOVE LOVE LOVE pumpkin butter gooey cake. When I was eight months pregnant with DD, I was on bed rest and sat in bed and ate HALF A PAN. Gee, no wonder I gained 50 pounds when I was pregnant...LOL!

Laura, yes, it's as good as chocolate PB. :)

And if it ever goes "out of season" where you shop, you can always order some from the Amana General Store website. They are in the Amana Colonies, Iowa, and have tons of different fruit butters and jams and jellies and flavored honey. Good stuff!

Love Pumpkin Butter!! I have made my own apple/pumkin butter - very yummy. A little high in the sugar department but lo-fat.

boilergirl....you are impressive to be able to eat that much pumpkin gooey butter cake!! that stuff is so rich...i am going to make some this weekend now that i have talked about it.....

i wonder if they have pumpkin butter at whole foods or trader joes...that is about as gournet as it gets here in valencia...

That's what I was going to recommend.
The Amish around here make it as well (and it's probably less expensive than at a gourmet shop).

Trader Joes has it too, just in the fall (it just came in to our local TJS) when I stock up on it. A big spoonful swirled into some cottage cheese with a few toasted pecans thrown in, YUM. The best snack. Full of vitamin A.

If you can't find pumpkin butter in stores, you can find recipes for it online, I've made my own but I like TJs the best...

YUMMMY!!!

Thanks for the link for the recipe...gonna make me some :D I've just been adding pumpkin pie spice to my cinnamon roll lean dessert protein shakes for a pumpkiny treat...but a couple teaspoons of this in it would rock!!!!
