Suuuuuuuusan, I really missed you, I am soooooooo very happy that you are back. :) I truely beleive that you kept me on track.

Guess what ladies? I am done with all my cooking, and I am tired I hope I can sleep tonight. My friends are calling me with question on how to cook this and that and can't beleive I am finished. :)

Tomorrow I am going to do laundry, vaccum, mop and relax. I am not ever going to make that Better Than Sex Cake again, too sweet for me.

Okay off to bed, will see you all in the AM for coffee.

I'm here with my coffee after just finishing the 5K program on the treadmill!! :) I walked 75% of it, but I walked fast even during the varying inclines (up to 7 degree incline). I'm about to hop in the shower and then get on the road!

Deanna....you're a cooking dynamo! And, though Susan may have nudged you along a bit (no offense meant to Susan who we all love!!), YOU did all the work, dont discredit your own achievements!!

Susan's Official Plan to Lose 30 lbs in the Next 6 Months :p

Food

1660 calories
< 50 grams total fat
< 13 grams saturated fat

Lean protein, veggies, fresh fruit, beans, brown rice, oatmeal, nuts, olive oil.
No wheat. No added sugar. Easy on the coffee... yea.. right... lol

Exercise

I like to set out the "type" of exercise for each day and then vary what I choose for that type.... sooo..

Monday - Upper Body (including Push Up Challenge) and Stretching

Tuesday - Treadmill warmup, Step Class at the gym, Stretching

Wednesday - Lower Body, Abs and Stretching

Thursday - Cardio (treadmill and/or elliptical at the gym) and Push Up Challenge

Friday - Rest day

Saturday - Total Body including Push Up Challenge, Abs and Stretching

Sunday - Treadmill warmup and Step Class at the gym

and.. of course...

60 ounces of water.... that's 3 of my 20 oz bottles !!!

Ladies I have been up and down all morning eating a spoonfull of this and that. By Saturday, I will have packed up majority of that food and placed it in the freezer for Christmas. :)

Today, I am relaxing and just enjoying the fruits of my labor. My son is asleep and when he wakes up he can eat until his heart is content.

Good morning ladies !!!

I'm ready to get moving :D

Printed out my calorie counting food sheets...

Ordered some new DVDs with the sales: I got the Slow and Heavy Series, Butts and Guts, STS Total Body Workout and Ab Circuits. All except Butts and Guts were Daily Deals for today, plus... 10% off.

Today is Rest Day on my schedule, but since I haven't worked out in weeks I'm heading to the gym to do some moderate paced walking on the treadmill.

Tomorrow, I have Total Body workout and I know that's going to kill me after all these weeks of inactivity. I'll have to think about which workout to do.... I may go back to Total Body Sculpting from the Beginner Rotation. I know it's going to take me a couple of weeks to get back up to speed.

Off to do a few things around the house before I head to the gym.

I also ate too much!! But that's okay.

I did manage to get in my Powerstrike cardio workout in this morning at my parents' house! It is going to be hard to eat healthy unless I just goto the grocery store while I'm here. My family is morbidly obese and when I open up the separate storage freezer here is just a sampling of what I see....3 gallons of ice cream, frozen pizza, a ton of pans of Stouffer's lasagna, ice cream Snickers bars, frozen waffles. In the cabinets upstairs....CapnCrunch, frosted poptarts, Sugar Corn Pops, cheetos, doritos, 3 bags of chips, cheezits. Then there are still 3 pies from yesterday, cinnamon buns etc etc etc. It just sickens me on so many levels that my parents, especially my mother, is slowly killing herself. My dad goes along with it so as not to hear my mom complain about how she was too "busy" (she's retired) to cook so let's goto Olive Garden. They eat out about 6 days a week, and not just for dinner. We're talking McD's for breakfast, BK for lunch and the "healthy" Red Lobster for dinner. Sorry to vent, but it's SO depressing!!! They dont want to change, well my dad does, but my mom is such a sabotager and guilt trips my dad to death!

Anyway, I did try to find healthy food only to find 2 bags of baby carrots, unopened and past their expiration date, brown bananas, and moldy strawberries :(

I dont see how anyone can eat like this day after day after day.

Moving on....sigh....

Susan....how would you like a weight loss buddy?! I'd like to be the Lose 15 lbs in 6 months club! The closer I get to my goal weight, I sometimes can realistically lose only about 1/2 lb per week so that's about 12 lbs in 6 months, so I think 15 is doable. I will have a similar plan...cutting back on added sugar, white flour, white rice, breads and pastas. Eating more lean meats and veggies.

I have Travel Fit planned for tomorrow.

I'm going to concentrate on drinking my water today! I need that flush!
 
Hi Stacy !!!

How sad to watch your parents eat like that... sigh. I can't even begin to imagine eating that kind of food every day. As you know, there isn't much you can do about it except to lead by example. They will change only when they want to change.....

I'd love a "Let's lose X pounds in 6 months" Buddy !!!!

I'm struggling with food today. After 3 weeks of eating semi-poorly, it's tough to get back to my healthy routine.... but I will.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning for my "official starting weight," so I'll have to do that tomorrow.

I'm going to weigh myself only once or twice a week... not sure yet... definitely on Monday mornings... and maybe Thursday mornings also...

Doing the treadmill felt good this morning.... I can't wait to get back into full exercise mode.. but I don't want to rush it too fast..

I didnt do my Travel Fit today, but that's okay. I had some workout wiggle room planned. I was going to take a rest day tomorrow if I did Travel Fit today, since I didnt get to, today will be my rest day and tomorrow I will workout.

Susan...weighing in twice a week will be great for me too and Mondays and Thursdays would work for me too. Just let me know, I think checking in the same day would be good!
 
Hi girls,

I have some heavy philosophical thoughts of food as an addiction, but will leave it since I'd rather try to stay short and sweet this morning. : ) But my thoughts are with you Stacy as you are with your parents this weekend. Have safe travels home.

I've reached a new bottom myself and plan to join Stacy and Susan in shedding some pounds.

Cathe is killing me with all her deals. I really really really don't need anymore workouts (speaking of addictions) but I am only missing a few workouts that I wish I owned, among them some of the hardcore workouts which are daily dealed today. If I am not careful I will be spending 50 dollars everyday of the weekend at cathe dot com. Acck!

I didn't workout over TG and BF, but I am looking forward to a weekend of no company and not too much homework and am grateful for 3! whole nights of 8 hours of sleep.

Deanna, how is your weekend going? Are we all ready to hit the ground running on Sun?Mon?

Morning Ladies :)

I am up having my coffe and researching The Firm Express workouts. I have some Firm dvds and I enjoy them. The Firm Express is several dvds that are 20 min in length, and they have 8 second blast and 12 second recovery time between exercises. I want some dvds that does not includ the Step. I researched Cathe Timesaver dvds and they are 30+ min in length and includes the Step. I have enough dvds and really do not need to get anymore but I am going to get The Firm Express today and that will be it.

The New Year is upon us ladies and I think we have a grrrrrrrrrreat start on our weight loss resolution. I do not know about you but this makes me feel good. I am excited to see how my body look by Spring/Summer. My goal is to tone/tighten. I do not recall ever having a tone body even in my teens. I am going to make an appointment to get my FREE 1 time PT session at the gym. I am going to inform him/her that my goal is to tone/tighten my body and see what exercise program they put me on. Then incorporate that workout with working out from home.

Good afternoon !!!

I am dragging today :cool: Can't seem to get motivated to do anything and I feel like a slug. It's a reaction to 2 1/2 weeks of company and running around and a busy Thanksgiving Day. My body and mind are on strike. All I want to do is curl up on the sofa with my 2 precious cats and read a good book ...lol

That's okay. Every once in a while, a crash day is needed for mental health. This too shall pass !!!

Stacy - Monday and Thursday weigh-ins will work fine !!! We'll start this Monday.

FnV - I sympathize on the Cathe deals this weekend... I succumbed yesterday because 3 of the 4 DVDs on my Wish List were on special. I'm not even going to look for the rest of the weekend. Too tempting.

Deanna - I too am excited about what the next 6 months will bring for all of us. I know we will do well with our Team spirit and support. Let us know how it goes with your free P.T. session at the gym !!!

Jennifer - Are you ready to start kicking butt with us????? :D

Teenagers!!!!!!

My darling son (gritting my teeth as I say that) does not pay any household bills and he does not have a car payment. I do not ask him for his money however, I did ask him to give me $40 to go on the Thanksgiving dinner which cost me $200. He agreed, he got paid Wednesday, he tried to give me some single dollar bills yesterday. I asked how much is that he said $17, I told him I wanted the $40 all at one time. I connected with the guy who I get all my beach body & Firm dvd system from. The Firm Express System is 13 dvds for $20 with my connection or 3 payments of $29.99 purchasing it with the company. Wow I just shared how I get my dvds (not Cathe) via boot leg. Anyway, I called son and told him to pick the 13 dvds up for me since he owes me $40. You can only guess what his response was? I do not have the money, I was going to pay you my next pay check! Needless to say I was Shocked. >:eek:
I have purchased all this food ($200), prepaired it, blah, blah, blah and your poor old mother can't even get $20?

I will not say anymore and thanks for letting me vent!

That's what bad food and lack of exercise does to me/us. And it's a feeling that I do not like..... at all.

Tomorrow is IT... the start of my serious return to healthy food and energetic workouts.

Acck, I had 4 dvd's in my cart but sale price expired at midnight. I was watching a movie w/ the kids and postponing the Buy/Enter as long as possible. Oh well.... see ya in the morning.
 
Good morning, enjoying my first cup here! Today is a gloomy, rainy day, havent decided what to do yet. Part of me wants to get a bit of Xmas shopping done and also get my grocery shopping done for the start of the my 6 Month Transformation ;), but the other part is wanting to savor my last day before the hectic work schedule starts back up tomorrow.

I am going to workout, leaning towards STS Total Body. Susan...I think you're going to like this one! I cant remember did you get your barbell yet??

FnV...bummer about your workouts, but maybe they'll extend the sale or have a new one for Cyber Monday.

Deanna....I just bought a few FIRM workouts, hoping I like them!

We got in late last night and just ordered pizza for dinner (at least the tomato sauce was a vegetable which is what the rest of my family thinks. Did I even mention my parents are both diabetic which makes their eating pattern even worse??!! And, they push the same type of eating on their grandkids! I love my family but I'm so glad I'm home and out of that environment!)

Anyway, I'll be drinking my water today, definitely feeling bloated!

I'll check in later!

Forgot to add....how about starting a new checkin page tomorrow??? It can still be called Progress not Perfection, but maybe "Month 1"???
 
Good morning !!!

I'm just finishing up my first mug of coffee and planning my day.

Step class at the gym later this morning.... and I need to make a quick grocery store run to start tomorrow off right..... not a huge cart full... just some things to fill in the gaps in the fridge/pantry.

I've decided to have a "set" breakfast. no thought involved... just eat the same thing every morning and get off to a good start:

banana
bowl of oatmeal w/ a little skim milk
1/2 c fat free plain Greek yogurt

all things I love and it's balanced... a little carb, a little protein and a fruit.

Stacy - I did get my barbell... a couple of months back and I love it !!!
I do think I'm going to love STS Total Body Workout. I really enjoy the straight weight workouts. I'm not a circuit kind of a girl. I much prefer pure cardio days alternating with pure strength days....

FnV - Bummer on missing the sale, but as Stacy said... I'm sure there will be other great sales between now and Christmas !!!

Deanna - I'm not even going to look at the Firm's DVDs... lol. I have no need to be tempted by other workouts... I'm too tempted by all of Cathe's..

I can start a new Progress, not Perfection Month 1 of 6 thread tomorrow morning. Good idea. That can cover the last few days of November and all of December, then I'll start new threads on the 1st of Jan, 1st of Feb, etc...

I probably should have snagged em. Fri's sale and Sat's sale had the only Cathe workouts I have left on my wish list pretty much. (some from STS shock cardio and a few from Hardcore Extreme) Oh well. If I were to shop another instructor, I'd consider p90x.

Clean diet is a better focus anyway. I am headed to grocery store today, too.

I'm going to do the "same thing" for meals, not just breakie. HB eggs and salad or salad w/ beans for lunch (brocoli slaw is pretty portable), 4 -5 oz of chicken/chop/patty for dinner and steamed veggies, slice of Ezekial.

Deanna, sorry about your son. Both of my teens need to start working.

Not sure what my workout will be.

Also, do you guys use the workout manager? If we were "friends" and if you adjust your settings, you can look at each others calendar and workouts, progress, etc. I'm friends with Deanna, but didn't have my settings adjusted so that my stuff was visible to anyone but I changed it this morning. Just a thought...

Also, I only have 7 Cathe workouts on my wish list, ha ha, I hope my knees hold up long enough to get the cellophane off of the ones I already own!

Yea! Deanna, I am glad your son brought your DVDs. I didn't see your edit earlier. : )

I'm just checking in to say that I did Low Impact Challenge/ LICh yesterday morning or at least the first 30 min of it. (I hate to call it LIC b/c that is Low Impact Circuit to me which has my fave cardio most go to workout on it)

Today i completed Step n Intervals from CTX and added on the 10 min Blast from LICh.
