Progress, not Perfection !!

Hey Grandma nice to see you!!! 30 lbs by May...count me in for 15 lbs!! We can help each other!!

kblvr....welcome, we're all in a bit of a workout slump here, but hopefully that wont deter you! Great job on the workout!! It's progress! My progress today was NOT grabbing a candy bar when I was starving at work!

I had a bad case of insomnia last night and only slept for 3 hours, and then worked 10 hours on my feet all day. I was going to do cardio tonight, but I'm beat! Tomorrow will definitely be a workout of some kind even if it's just walking on the treadmill!

FnV and Susan...hello to you both!! Sounds like we need to Fear the Grandma!!! She's coming to kick our butts soon!!

Have a good night everyone!

Deanna....I realized in my last post I had a typo! I said hello to Susan twice but one was meant for you!! How are you?? Stop in and say hi and let us know how you're doing...I miss your WATER reminders!!

Good news and bad news...

Bad News....I've managed to eat my way back up to my ALL-TIME highest weight ever!! :(

Good News...I worked out today for the first time in awhile (I did the cardio segments from LIC and then abs), and I had 1/2 cup of Fiber One low fat cottage cheese and 10 almonds for breakfast instead of leftover breadsticks from last night's fat food fest!

There's nothing like sticker shock on the scale AND me just feeling like a blob to kickstart my big butt back into getting healthier!

I've got errands to run, but I'll check back later!

Hey Ladies,

What is going on? I feel so guility because it seems like when the time changed and the weather got cool, I just stopped working out. I have not worked out in 2 weeks, I do not know what it wrong with me.

I noticed when I was working out, I had energy and I felt good. In other words I did not have time for pitty parties. I can't sleep, I was off work for 4 days over the Veterans Day holiday. I went to the parade on Friday and was in my PJ's Saturday, Sunday and Monday having a pitty party. I have got to get out of this slump. I NEED YOU GUYS TO GIVE ME A SWIFT KICK!

I registered for a 5K this Saturday, maybe that will get me started again.

Deanna

Deanna, thanks for checking in!! I think the 5K sounds like just what you need. We need to get ourselves out of our group slump!! It is so easy to slip back into old habits, as I have been guilty of that myself, and the scale and mirror remind me how bad things have gotten in such a short time!

However, we are in control of our health and we have to be the ones to take charge and turn things around! Remind yourself how good you felt when you were working out and eating well. Remind yourself how good it felt to put on pants that fit you so much better!! While we all deserve a little down time, as Cathe says (in Slow and Heavy I believe), "it's a break not a vacation!"

Make a commitment to do SOMETHING tomorrow, even if it's just the warm up of a step workout. You'll most likely find yourself doing the whole thing and you'll feel great afterwards!!

And....WATER, WATER, WATER!!!

Keep checking in here, I need someone kicking my butt too!!

Stacy, you are a sweetheart. :)

I am going to do a wam up tomorrow evening after work, and will post afterward.

Well, yesterday I wore a sports bra and I had the opportunity to take stairs twice. : )

Congrats to Susan for maintaining, I am looking forward to your return.

Stacy, I also love the line taking a break, not a vacation.

Deanna, you have made so much progress on getting a rockin' healthy bod, I know you are gonna jump back into it.

kblvr, did you decide to stick around? I think 42 min of a workout is a very respectable place to start, in fact I often choose shorter premixes. Keep us updated with how you like the workouts if you can.

I talked to one of my very bffs ever, yest. She recently had a concern about skin cancer and also her thyroid. She is one the cleanest living persons I know. She's NEVER had a marischino cherry in her LIFE! But not in a preachy way, she just chooses natural whole foods most of the time. Anyway, because of her health concerns she cut out some foods and is now mostly eating proteins (shes more vegan than meat, so that was different) and veggies, No sugar, grains, etc, as part of natural approach to her health concerns. She went from her normal wt of around 127 to 120 in about 30 days.

So now I have some new inspiration. Have a great one ladies.

Water water water! Just do it! Stop it!

FnV...very interesting about your friend. I have a co-worker that did a similar thing (healthy beforehand, marathon runner, thin) and dropped 10 lbs in a few weeks doing nothing different except changing her diet up a bit...ie. no grains, no sugar except in the occasional piece of fruit. I wish I had that willpower!!!!

Deanna....how was your day?? Workout update??

I'm doubtful I'll have time for a workout tonight, 10+ hr day at work, just getting home and have dinner in the oven. I do plan on getting up early and working out before work tomorrow though!

Have a good evening, I'll check back later!

Good Morning! I just finished Ilaria's Atletica workout and packed a healthy lunch for work!

Off to hit the showers and then go to work! Have a good day everyone!

Morning Ladies :)

Well, I am sad to say that I still have not worked out. :( Like I said previously I hope the 5K on Saturday gets me back into the swing of things.

On a positive note, I have on a jean pant suit that is a size 7. I purchased this outfit back in 2009 when I was sick. I gained weight after that and it has been in my closet since. The pants are a little snug but I am in it. :) I would say my actual size is between 8 & 10.

Seeing this progress I have to start working out again! I do not want to get any smaller, just tighen and tone everything up. My desire is to have a really tight body.

I hope you all have a blessed day, will check in later.

Deanna

WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER

I have finally done pretty good the last couple days. I have been tracking my eating and have stayed under my goal. As far as exercises I have done Turbo Barre (could only do 42 min, thought I was going to die), MMA Fusion, MMA Boxing, and jogging. I was pretty sore yesterday so took a rest day, but I still did good with my eating. I overslept this morning so I'm hoping to do it tonight, but I'm not so good at doing it in the evening when DH is home.

I only have the downloads so I can't do the shorter premixes. I know I can make my own but I'm not saavy enough with the workout blender. I think after thanksgiving I'm going to try to do the LIS rotation-does anybody know if premixes are used in that rotation?

Hope everybody has a great day!!!

Deanna...I dont think I was ever a size 7!! Awesome!!

Kblvr....good job on the workouts! What sort of goal/eating plan are you following??

Today I resisted eating Doritos at work!! Yay!!

Fridays are my no-workout/pizza nights! I need a day that is guilt-free to help me stay on track better the rest of the week (that's the goal anyways!)

TGIF (almost!)

Deanna...have fun at your 5K!!

I'll be out most of the day, volunteered to take someone's shift at work, then going to a football game!

Tomorrow I WILL workout even if it kills me!!!!!

Too much pizza last night, feeling ill this morning....going to try for Progress today!

What are you up to FnV and kblvr??

Morning Ladies :)

Up getting ready to go on a 5K with Kristy KDubb Williams. I posted on my FB wall yesterday that I have not worked out in 2 weeks, so I am going to take my time by walking the 3 miles. I hope this gets me back in to the exercise mindset. Since the time & weather change all I want to do is stay warm in my Flannels after work.

Have fun, Deanna! I hope this gets you going again.

Stacy, how'd your Fri Flex day go?

I am caught up on school and will get stuff done around the house today, including shopping. I even have a good night's sleep.

I might need to start back just by walking, not that I can't handle the intensity of Cathe but just because it won't work my brain, and in fact provides stress relief. Then walking habit can be placeholder for Cathe habit.

Hello Ladies :)

I am back home from the 5K, it was kinda cool this morning. I had 2 shirts on, 2 pair of spandex pants and my gloves. When I crossed over the finish line 40 min., later I had taken one shirt and the gloves off. It turned out to be a wonderful morning, and a met another cancer survivor. Great run, look forward to the next one next month.

Are you ladies ready for Thanksgiving? I went shopping yesterday, I have majority of everything I need just a few more items to pick up. I am not even going to watch what I eat during this time of year. If I am going to cook, I am going to eat....lol But I am going to exercise, hopefully this will help.

Okay, I am going to rest a little tired.
Deanna

Good job on the walk, glad the weather was nice!

I'm heading to a football game soon, it's supposed to be mid 50's which is a blessing because it's been in the 30's all week!

BBL...

Well yesterday was a total bust as far as eating goes.....tailgate parties, game food...need I say more?

Hoping to fight the cravings today and get a workout in.

I ordered Turbo Barre....I'm not much of a barre person, have one or two workouts and I dont see the fascination, however, I thought I'd give Cathe's a try.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

I FINALLY worked out!!!!!!

I did STS Total Body since it had been awhile since I had done some pure strength training after I had sprained my hand. It was tough and I definitely worked up a sweat! I skipped the last section of legs that use the gliding disc b/c those exercises bother my knees.

I plan on alternating cardio with total body strength training for the next few days until I go out of town for Thanksgiving. I'm going to take Travel Fit and a kickboxing workout with the hopes of working out at my parents' house but we'll see how that goes might be too many relatives over.

Susan...how are you??

WTG on workout Stacy. I haven't tried to Glide yet but wonder how my knees will tolerate it. Too bad you can't borrow my DVD's, I haven't even previewed them all.

Deanna, did you find any more motivation yet?

Susan, do you still have company? I am happy for your wt maint.

So question of the day, how do You drink your water?

I like room temp, 1 8 oz glass at a time with a goal of 8 by bedtime.
I dislike ice cold water except for if I am actually overheated/working out.

Dr Oz has a thing on his site about vinegar/fiber(some brand ?) water before bed. I actually like vinegar (and DOMs) and sometimes mix ground flax seed w/ vinegar and water and chug it.

I really dont have a preference on water. I'll drink it cold or room temp. My problem is just drinking it altogether! It's a good day for me if I can drink 2 regular size bottles of water per day! I do drink about 2 cups of coffee a day, but dont count that since it's got the diuretic caffeine affect.

I'm trying something new for my upcoming "rotation". I want to actually stick to the same few workouts for 4-6 weeks and then change it to a new set. I want to do 4 workouts per week, a 5th would be a bonus and will be whatever I want it to be. It's really hard with my work schedule to commit myself to more than 4 a week, sometimes I struggle with that!

I'd like to do STS Total Body, High Reps, a circuit workout (dont know which one yet, and I might change this one up each week for variety) and one pure cardio. I'd also work my abs 4 times each week.

I make this "rotations" and dont know why I cant stick to them, lol!
