PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: MARCH

i made sure to get buffered aspirin and only give it to her with her food, once a day. She can't do Rimadyl...I'm going on my own here, with advice from my sis and her ex who are both vets. i know my dog and care about her...most trips to the vet they don't hear what I'm saying. plus she's been traumatized...I'm just not going to the vet unless my gut instincts are wrong. She hasn't shown any sign of the ulcer for a couple months so i think she's okay there, but I'll definitely stop at the first sign of a problem :)

That's great you have a vet in the family you can trust. (I didnt mean to make it sound as if you would do anything harmful to your dog, I'm guessing you know that but thought I'd clarify for sure :) )

I just bought Tabatacize, felt I needed to add some more intense shorter cardio. My next purchase should be some wire for my jaw ;)

My entire West looks like all OSU!

The forecast shows either alot of rain or up to 5 inches of snow tomorrow, depending on which way the wind blows. I'm hoping for rain. I'm ready to move on to Spring, wait it already is officially Spring!

My lower body is pretty sore from Super Cuts. I doing an upper body split today or, most likely, will try out Cathe's Yoga dvd.

My doggies are getting a bath today. I will not be their friend. They know the word "bath" and hide behind the living room chair.

i know babe :) i appreciate your concern, it amazes me some of the things that people aren't aware of that seem to be common knowledge. Thank you. She's really feeling better, i think I'm going to cut it down to half a pill tonight.

Going to do a Firm today that has previously kicked my butt, Bootcamp Max Cardio. aaaaugh

Hey! i picked Wichita State to beat Gonzaga last night! another Alma mater of mine, got my med tech degree there :)

Lol, I stink at Yoga! I about fell flat on my face, lol. My hamstrings are SO tight. I knew all of this but this served as gentle reminder that my flexibility is getting worse with age!

Maybe a 5 day rotation like this...

--Cardio
--Leg/Cardio
--Upper body split + short cardio (with the other part of the split the following week)
--Yoga
--Circuit

Try as I might, my life, work is just not conducive to working out 6 days a week!

My doggies are clean, a treat after bath time always makes them totally forget their "ordeal".

Andrea, are you digging yourselves out of the snow again?? They're predicting 4-6 inches here but half the time the weather dudes are wrong, so we'll see what's on the ground come morning.

I know, that OSU game was a close one!! My Final 4 picks are all still alive so far.

i dug our driveway today in lieu of working out. Wore my hrm and burned 300 Cal in 45 minutes so it's about the same as a workout. We got about eight inches. I'm just happy i didn't have to figure out how to get to work!

ugh i just forced myself to watch the Ku game. do not like.

I'm excited to watch lasalle, they looked good when we played them, i wonder if they really are?

Have either of you ever done Weight Watchers?? I have done it in the past and lost 7 lbs in the first few weeks. I'm going to start that again, it was a pain counting points when eating out, but I'll just have to eat 0 point salads! I'm allowed 29 points a day, and I dont remember what they were called but 7 Activity points per day I could use or save.

that's good news!

Peng, where are you? Hope you are okay!

i did the Firm Bootcamp workout this morning, it was a tough one. Going to do that one again soon.

Our hot water heater broke on Sunday, so yesterday Dad and Hubby spent the day replacing it, and I mean the whole day. Water and heat were off for most of the day, which means I was snuggled on the couch under a down comforter trying to stay warm! But I got a lot of knitting done.

Stacy, never done WW but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I have some of the cookbooks however.

Andrea, we got flurries last night but nothing stuck.

Peng, long time no see! Our water heater is on the fritz too, it's been leaking water. We have a guy coming to replace it in the next few weeks, hope it lasts that long!

I did 3 mile incline brisk walking on the treadmill followed by abs. Abs werent my best effort, I plan on working them again tomorrow. I'm doing an upper body split and abs tomorrow after work.

WW Day 2! I enjoy WW, it let's me eat whatever I want but of course I have to eat within my points and I also have Weekly Points I can use for splurges. There is also Activity Points but I found calculating those leaves alot of room to overestimate so I dont use them.

The doggies have their annual vet appt today. They'll both be "shaking like a chihuahua" (as Cathe says in S&H I believe)!

Yoga this morning before work...put me into a great frame of mind. Good thing too because it's one of those days!

aaaugh sorry about the water heater troubles but good to know you're still here Peng! My moms water heater busted last week too...okay i need to check mine!

Tragedy has struck...my dvd player died!! So I have hubby out getting me a new one right now! ;)

I did manage to get thru the Lower Body Express premix from Athletic Training. Then I had to pop a dvd into my computer for my ab workout. I did Core #1 from X-Train. My legs felt heavy and tired today. Tomorrow will be just an upper body split.

way to persevere :)

i did yoga again this morning. came home from work completely wiped out though :-( so no dog walk. ravioli and fish sticks for dinner and I'm calling it a day!

What yoga workouts have you been doing? I'm looking for a few new ones, hard to find one I like. Not a big fan of ones that have the heavy breathing that can be heard over the music or the ones that talk to you as if you're a toddler.

Kundalini yoga- Raviana...i've been doing the Yoga Quick Fixes dvd this week, it's got a good energizing warmup and then several different six to ten minute sections that provide different benefits...energy, focus, anxiety relief, flexibility, etc and three or four short yoga workout sets that are fifteen to twenty minutes, so it works well for me in the morning. They actually focus on breathing, and in different ways, like long deep breathing and quick short panting breaths that are amazingly energizing, strange to watch probably but it really makes me feel relaxed and ready to go at the same time. I'm finding my hips are always tight at the beginning but much more flexible when I'm done. Just a really nice way to start the day.:)

I just ordered one with Bethenny Frankel, not a big fan of hers, but the workout got good reviews and seems like one I'd like. My favorite is Power Yoga by Jeanette Jenkins but it's too darn long, it does have chapters though. I'm really looking forward to getting in one yoga workout a week (putting it in place of the other half of my upper body split for the week. I really think splitting up my "split" over 2 weeks will be good. My arms/shoulders are looking too big).

I checked out a WW site that someone in the Open forum posted and since I've aged (jerks!), my Daily Points are now 26 when I thought it was 29 points! Oh well, not a huge thing. I'm feeling really good about doing WW so hoping to see some good losses!

Its cold again but the sun is shining at least. Its going to warm up this weekend but rain.

Hubby bought another used car. This one is a 82 Mercedes diesel sedan. It rides like a tank but its nicer than the VW Jetta which is like riding around in a coffee can. Since we got a good deal on the Merc we are giving the Jetta to his Mom who really needs a second car.

Stacy, I really like the microwave rice. simple easy. Sorry to hear about your DVD player. At least you are getting another with little lag time. sorry about the reduced points. I'm cutting back on my eating also. Its past time I did something about this extra weight.

Andrea, I have to agree I like short yoga/stretching programs. I don't enjoy the longer ones, I get bored and frusterated with my bad balance. . I really don't like the ones with long holds either. Again with the bored. I have a 'set' routine I do after a workout, with stretches that I like and work for me, regardless of what the instructor is doing. And then I do mini stretches during the day, mostly neck and back, I can really tell if I'm not stretching enough, I start to feel sore and bloated of all things.

Peng i remember my Aunt had a purple Mercedes Diesel in the early eighties...i loved that car!

Yoga again this morning, and eating healthy:) Looks like the weather is turning nicer here! how about you ladies' weather?

Ready to get home and walk the monsters :)
