PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION: MARCH

Hubby got up at 4am, to drive across town to meet his friends, to get into a truck to ride to the other side of Nashville {we are in Memphis} for a RC Plane Meet. He got there a little past 8am.

I'm planning a day of knitting, reading, swing sitting and maybe some weeding. I had the heat turned off overnight but its still 72* inside, which is normally what we set the heat at.

We have ours set at 69! Our house seems too stuffy at 72. Ok...off to do Afterburn, cant wait til I'm done!

AFTERBURN.....DONE!!!!! I did the Double Trouble premix (1A-10A, followed by 1B-10B), it's 3 minutes shorter b/c of less rest time btwn exercises. It seems to fly by, well maybe not fly by when you're huffin' and puffin' like me, but it's over 3 minutes faster, lol! I followed that by 100 situps.

Now for Laundry Max! At least my laundry room is on the first floor so I dont have to walk up and down the stairs!

I spent most of the afternoon outside in the backyard swing, knitting on a baby blanket. Hubby didn't get home until after 6pm, but he bought a trainer plane.

I opted for CTX Upper Body Split instead of Burn Sets. I made it thru Back, Chest and Shoulders and then called it quits. It's been a while since I've lifted weights and my arms were fried. If I had done Bi's and Tri's it wouldve just been going thru the motions. Even when I'm in better shape I find I do better with split upper body anyways as I feel the last 2 body parts worked always get the short end of the stick.

We had 2 days of nice weather last weekend which fooled my flower beds into thinking they needed to show some greenery. The beds are really in need of a cleanup, but this week it's only going to be in the low 30's. Bummer. I have no green thumb but I do enjoy cleaning the beds b/c I can see a return on my hard work.

Okay, off to shower and maybe a trip to the bookstore to browse.

Andrea, sorry about your b-ball team :( Mine has advanced to the final round and play one of our big rivals today!

Wow where have I been? Stacy I'm with ya, march is half over and I still haven't done anything...grrr...I have been walking the dogs alot, we went 3.5 miles yesterday. They are doing nothing but sleeping today, and it's kind of showery here, so we probably will skip the walk today.

I wish Cathe had more workouts that were in between the super easy beginner ones and her intermediate/advanced ones. More Beginner/Intermediate. The only one that really fits that it Body Fusion and it's kind of meh, I guess the High Step Circuit one kind of fits as well...but what I'm thinking is I need to *FIRM* for a while. I'm at that stage where if I do her (Cathe's) workouts other than the beginners I end up hurting myself :( This is like the third time I've gotten to this point. Sigh. Plus, getting used to fitting working out in with working full time has proven to be very challenging to me, ever since that first trainee I had that completely changed my attitude about work...it was going so well up to that point, since then I've been so stressed out. PLUS the double whammy of snowstorms, the hospital at way over max capacity, short staffing, etc. I'm hoping it gets better soon. SO, all that said, I may or may not work out today, and if I do, I'm thinking I'm going to do a Firm workout. Another thing, when I did the Firm workouts regularly, I lost 20 pounds in about 9 months. I did Cathe regularly (like every day) for six solid months and lost maybe two pounds. In the past when I did Cathe workouts, I didn't lose weight. It's so weird, like the intensity freaks my body out or something. Maybe less is more in my case. Maybe it's just because I'm older. We'll see. :)

Yeah my team was tired or something last night and COULD NOT hit shots. We were ahead by 3 or 5 and then couldn't hit anything for like 11 minutes. Can't do that against Kansas.

Stacy, excellent work! You are doing great, I know it has to feel good to be doing something again. Keep it up :) Hope your team gets a win today, I'll check my listings and keep an eye on my TV! I'm excited to find out tonight who goes where and who we play.

Peng...must be nice to have so much time to enjoy the outdoors as well as nice weather.

I feel the ticking clock, got so much to do before the work week starts again. Must get on it. I'll check back in if I get a workout in :)

have a good one!

Andrea, I'd consider investing in some of Kelly Coffey-Meyers 30 Minutes to Fitness Workouts. They are a nice step-down in intensity from Cathe, but still good workouts. Each dvd will have 2 separate 30 minute workouts. They arent too pricey either. I like her demeanor and her workouts are athletic not dancey. I have most of them except a few of her latest ones. They are a good investment, I use them for "lighter" days, when I'm strapped for time or coming back after an injury or an illness. Hmm...maybe I should do a KCM rotation for April!

good idea. thanks for the tip. i did the Firm Super Body Sculpt lower body...sadly it was tough! Starting over again! but, i did it :)

Good job on the workout!! I have a few of the old FIRM Classics, but I have a hard time getting past the creepy clothes and odd vibe.

My goal for this week....4, 30 minute workouts.

the ones I do are from around 2003-2005, so no leotards or strangeness! I can't do those!

Hey looks like we will play Wisconsin if we both win our first game...not looking forward to that! i hate that Brusiwicz kid and his shooting! they beat us last year i think :-(

It rained last night and this morning but finally stopped. Poor April was outside hiding in her doghouse through some of it. I let her outside then the sky opened up.

I did premix 6-10 of Cathe's Imax 3, about 40min.

BTW, Kelly has a new presale up for 3? new workouts for about $40. She, like Cathe, also has a huge list or premixes in each DVD. CoffeyFit

Thanks for enabling me...lol ;-)

Pinto refused to go out all day yesterday, it was very lightly misting, until she couldn't take it any more...howled to go out and immediately took a big poop! Stuff like that amuses me :)

Glad I didnt do bi's and tri's yesterday, my upper body is sore enough today!! Yesterday my glutes were definitely feeling the love of Afterburn. Today was a planned rest day. Planning on cardio tomorrow and then bi's, tri's and abs on Wednesday.

In the past I've always pre-ordered, the last two series, I waited until the reviews and more clips to help narrow down what I really "needed". I'm doing the same this time. Not sure if some of the step choreography will be for me or not. I'm thinking about pre-ordering KCM's though, my hubby is interested in the back one as he's had back problems most of his life. Of course I tell him it's b/c he doesnt work his core, but what do I know?! ;)

I didnt feel like thinking so I decided to walk on the treadmill, but then felt like I was wimping out. So, I chose my usual 3 mile program which incorporates random inclines, up to 8 degrees, but decided to kick up the walking speed and try to stay at that speed even thru the steeper inclines. I did it!! I was sweating and huffing and puffing! Just goes to show, I do need to push myself more!

Tomorrow I will finish out the bi's and tri's from CTX and do another set of 100 situps.

While I was sweating away on the treadmill, I was thinking about how to change up my rotations so I feel ike I'm fitting everything in. I think my issue is that I really dont like doing all upper body in one day so I do 2 upper body splits, and with limited workout time, I tend to give up yoga, or dont get in as much cardio or lower body. Since I seem to be doing alot more Xtrain/metabolic/circuit/LIS type of workouts that already incorporate upper body, I thought about splitting upper body even more. Like doing only half the split like say chest/shoulder/tri's one week, and then doing the other part bi's/back (or whatever) the next week. Maybe I can get in more cardio or legs that way. Gonna have to see how that looks on paper.

Off to shower and run errands!

I'm doing good on my Firm workouts...ultimate calorie blaster this morning before work. i think these are easier on my Achilles but i still feel like I'm getting a great workout!

push it Stacy! ok back to work
