Progress not Perfection April

Morning :)

50min of Cardio yesterday at the Gym 2 miles on Treadmill and 2 miles on the Bike, then 60 min Sculpt/MRT class. I found it very difficult to complete MRT after Cardio. I think I will stick to MRT 1st and Cardio 2nd.

Today (Wednesday 4.11.12) 60 min of Cardio only (NO CLASSES), probably the Treadmill. I am amazed at my stamina, I was able to jog on the Treadmill for several minutes yesterday. I am going to do it again today, setting the Treadmill at 5+ miles. Since I will not be able to go tomorrow, I better get it in today.

Ladies remember I could not do any of this 8 months ago, and remember I also went through treatment 3 years ago. NOW I am walking 3.8 on the Treadmill and jogging between 4.3 & 4.5. God is sooooooooo good.

Deanna

Deanna that is fabulous!! Not to discredit god, but YOU did all the work so give yourself a major high five!!!

FnV (and everyone else!)....thanks for being so understanding of my absence here, it's nice to know there's no pressures here!

Atom....Total Body Trisets...I keep thinking about getting this one. I heard both positive and negative things. Not sure if I "need" it if I have pretty much all other Cathe's but I'm a sucker for a new workout. I said I wasnt getting ANY of the new LIS workouts and now I have 4 of them (AT, AB, LISC and TB)

I cant wait til this half marathon is done. I was seeing some good results with the November LIS rotation that I'd love to jump back into that soon!

Rhythmic Step and Core Max 1 this morning. I needed something a bit easier on the legs before I go into AfterBurn tomorrow.

Deanna...excellent job on the fitness gains. I love when changes in fitness level happens. It's so motivating!!

Hi Ladies,

Quick check. I have been keeping up on reading periodically.

Just got back Sat nite, had a water leak, floors being replaced by landlord this weekend, have a birthday party Sat to prepare food for, church and helping friends move Sun, and playing catch up after being gone for 10 days. I didn't work out while away as I had hoped and haven't started back up yet, plan to start LIS rotation again on Monday. I agree with Stacy, thanks for your understanding as life just happens sometimes. That is why I joined this group - progress not perfection.

I agree, Deanna, God is so good. I experienced more evidence of that while I was away with my family for the funeral. If we do our part, He will do His!

I will "see" you ladies on Tue after my Mon workout.

Michelle

Michelle, ugh and bummer to floors, is your stuff ok? I've had that happen as well. Have fun getting going next week. One bite at a time, right?

Deanna, I am so happy for you.

Atom, I hope you lose your inch in time for the cruise!

Stacy, when is the marathon? I've forgotten but I am thinking May?

I missed a couple of days of w/o this week (T,W and Th unless you count dance class which I sometimes do and sometimes don't, depending on how hard we worked.) I was due for an intense upper body, but all I mustered was a relaxed HighReps upper body but at least its done. I have lots of homework to do this weekend. Take care all

Friday was AfterBurn. I did better this week than last week, but still lots of room for improvement. Thankfully I was not as sore this week as I was last week with the workout. I plan to repeat all the same workouts next week.

I love the feeling after my Friday workout. I do a Sun - Fri workout schedule. Every time I complete a full week of workouts without missing a day I feel very accomplished!! We all have so many commitments and other important things going on. Its nice when I know I've made myself a commitment also.

Stacy - I agree, you probably don't 'need' Total Body Trisets. From what I can tell its similar to SuperSets. But it is an awesome workout. I was looking at STS, but I don't think I 'need' that either...LOL. I'm loving the LIS.

This was going to be my "get back into fitness weekend" and as luck would have it, I've come down with a cough/headache/sore throat. Yesterday all I wanted to do was sleep. I dont think I'm going to sign up for another half-marathon walk. I always seem to get this mental thing where I can only walk for my workouts lest I injure my knee or something and then I dont have time for the lengthy walks and then I end up barely do any type of workout for weeks. I havent walked in about a month. The race is the first week of May. I think I'm just going to do it, hobble thru the last few miles and be sore for a few days thereafter.

On the bright side, I just ordered Cardio Supersets, so I now will own 5 of 10 of Cathe's LIS workouts. I probably wont get anymore b/c the ones I dont have are the yoga, stretch, cycle, slide&glide and trisets. I dont own a spin bike, the discs hurt my knees and I dont feel the need for the others.

I'm looking forward to doing the LIS or LIS/STS rotation when I'm done with this stinkin' half marathon!!

I did HSTA, Good work out lots of sweat and steady cardio with bursts.

Stacy cardio SG is about 15 - 20 min and is Butpees jacks straddle pushups and other movement with the discs. mostly cardio legs have an isometric contraction I thinl in order to accent lower body. A kick box might be good sub? Feel better asap.

Have a great day all.I h ope we all have a fantastic start to our week.
Water water water, walk away from the junk food and move it move it.

KPC today. I felt really strong in the workout today. I am usually really getting tired towards the end, which was true again today. However, I lasted until the second half of the last combo before really wearing down. I still finished it, but not full steam. The Ab section was much better. I'm still working on the dreaded med ball pikes. I managed two with really good form today. My core is pretty wasted after the kickboxing segment, so that last section is rough for me. I'm hoping to add a couple more next week.

I also did Stretch Max 1 today. This week I'm trying to commit to three stretches for the week. My body feels so much better when I get in some extra stretching, but I don't always make time for it. Also trying to get my water intake up. Goal for the week is 16 oz a day. I know that isn't much, but I figure it's a start!!

Stacy - hope you are feeling better. Def get some rest!!

Faith - thanks for the junk food reminder!! I will need this if I'm going to get rid of that last inch :)

Tomorrow I'm working a 12+ hr shift and I pretty much know I wont have time to workout plus I'm not quite feeling better yet. However, I've been out of the fitness loop for a long time both with respect to workouts and healthy eating. So, tomorrow I'm back!!

Even though I cant workout, that's no excuse not to make healthier food choices. I will also work on drinking more water. Count me in on that 16 oz per day goal! (and that will be 16 oz in addition to whatever coffee I drink) I have a really hard time getting in water.

I'm hoping I'll feel well enough by Tuesday to try for a 5-6 mile walk on the treadmill and do abs.

Here's a link to a website that was posted elsewhere. Some nice, but tough, short follow along workouts. The instructor comes across as such a sweetie. There's also some recipes there too.

Ripped 250 Rep Challenge

I'lll report back tomorrow night after work! I've missed this place!

Stacy, I like that workout, reminds me of bodyrock/Zwow but different. She was funny, you can add weight, clearly i'm not. lol.
Did you get thru your Mon Deanna?
How's everyone starting off?
I did IMAX 3 for first time. I modified for impact and intensity and learning curve to the extent that I only counted about half of it, even tho I did the whole thing. But I look forward to doing it again and becoming more proficient.

Today was Athletic Training....today was a little off. I had to stop more this time than last week. I wanted to make sure I got the most out of the strength sections, so I took some extra rest before some of them.

I was successful at losing the couple pounds I had gained the weeks before, so now I can truly begin on working on that last inch. My diet today was good. I'm about to get my 16 oz of water in now :).

Didnt make it back here after work, was too tired. I did so-so on the diet. Water intake was the bare minimum. I'm feeling slightly more human today with this darn head cold but still not ready for a workout. I unfortunately had chocolate chip cookies for breakfast....those TTOTM cravings struck :( No excuse I know. I do have the rest of the day to improve upon however so I will not take "the whole day is ruined" mentality.

Have a good day everyone...progress not perfection!

Morning Ladies :)

I feel like I have been MIA. I only worked out 2 days last week. :( However I am back to my regular schedule this week. Yesterday 4.16.12, 3.69 miles on the Treadmill and 30 min Abs class. Today is 60 min MRT class and if I am not to tired after, going to attempt 3 miles on Treadmill. That means I will need to be at the Gym 2 hours or more.. :(

Wish me luck
Deanna

Hi Ladies. I like Stacy was planning on getting started again Monday, but as of Sat nite, have a cold. Meds aren't helping much so resting to recoup before starting again. Eating not great. Water intake great - about 90 + ozs per day. Fnv, need to load up on veggies like u. They r in the fridge, just need to prep. Ck in again soon.

Tuesday 4.17.12 - Evening Ladies :)

Another great workout with my 2 workout buddies. 60 mim MRT/Sculpt class and 30 min on Treadmill. Ladies I really like my MRT/Sculpt Instructor, she is awesome.

Deanna

Wednesday 4.18.12 - I will be going it alone today at the Gym, no class, just Cardio. My goal is 5 miles on the Treadmill but I will be happy with 3 miles. Whatever I can finish in 60 min. :)

Lingering cough and chest tightness here, diet was good up until dinner then overate. I got LIS Cardio Supersets in the mail today and previewed it. I'm glad I purchased this one. I'll have to modify a few of the disc exercises but that shouldnt be a problem. I'm hoping that by next Monday I'll be ready for a workout. (I'm unfortunately working all weekend and have to finish off some painting before some friends come to visit so working out isnt likely). Hubby has been overeating as well and wants to do a liquid only detox day tomorrow. I said I'd join him, protein shakes are allowed. I've never done anything like that before so we'll see how it goes.

Two weeks til race day, it's gonna be ugly.

I hope everyone starts to feel better.

Stacy, nice that you can dh can get on same page about things. Maybe I'll do CSS when I get to the LIS portion of my rotation this weekend.

Deanna, it sounds like the gym is working out for you. Ha ha, get it gym working out for you? You working out at gym? sorry.... I used to love treadmill when I had one available.

Michelle, good luck getting started again, baby steps if needed and hopefully you will be feeling better. Traveling is stressful, imo, it always takes me time to get back on my feet anyway.

Atom Toni, how's it going?

So, this week I've done the Imax 3 on Mon, and only half of an upper body premix yesterday and 12 push ups today. Dance tomorrow. Gak, I'm behind but doing what I can. I did a speech for school today and did Cathe as my subject - and cathe fitness.
Ha ha, does writing about workouts count for anything?

quick food check in--green smoothie from about 4 c spinach, a cup of mixed frozen berries and about a half cup of juice and some water , this morn was banana, protein unsweetened almond milk and tsp of coconut oil and chia seeds.

I'm thinkin' of doing a persuasive speech on smoothies for my final speech, what would make you consider drinking a green smoothie?
