PROGESS NOT PERFECTION...Knockin' November OUT!

I'm back home, diet was an utter mess while I was away. I did get in a great workout on Thanksgiving morning at the gym my sis-in-law belongs to. It was such a great workout it made me want to join a gym, but I wont, I know I'd never get there with my crazy work schedule.

It's time to get back to clean eating and working out. No way I'm stepping on the scale for about 2 weeks, it'll just make me feel worse. All I can do now is move forward and work hard!

The daily deals havent really tempted me only b/c I pretty much own all the Cathe's already!
 
yeah...i had to catch up with you and Peng! you all made me jealous with your collections! lol

glad we are all back, and back to normal. I'm not really a fan of holidays, i like routines and holidays mess them all up and wear me out!
 
"Happy" Monday!

Time to get back into the routine again. I REALLY need to refocus my energies on my diet, I find that SO difficult! Unlikely I'll workout today, Mondays are a zoo at work after a holiday, will be a 12 hr+ day and I've got a meeting after work.

I'm planning on salad for dinner, the recipe is below. I'm going to make a few changes though, hubby doesnt like eggs, so going to sub in diced tomatoes, and I'll sub in lower fat versions, and add croutons only to hubby's since he loves them.

Tomorrow I'm going to try a lower fat version of clam chowder, it uses FF half-n-half and for added "thickness" it has you puree potatoes instead of adding in flour and heavy cream.

Its earlier than I wanted to be up, but Hubby came in, said goodbye, then I couldn't fall back asleep. Temps have gotten chilly again, blech, and its supposed to rain. I need to get out and clean up the yard and prune some things that are looking scraggly now that the leaves have dropped off. But not today! {the rain sounds really loud hitting all the dead leaves.} We had a nice weekend. we are both going to be confused all week because of the day's off change! I think its Tuesday. UB & cardio for later.

Hmmm, I got myself confused. I'm actually starting week 2 of the Dec rotation, and its not even Dec yet.

Stacy, I hear you on refocusing energy into diet. With Hubby not here this week I won't fix anything big except soup. We have a lot of leftovers, however.

Andrea, I'm trying to ignore the Daily Deals and Mary's sale this week. I preordered Xtrain so that will have to do it for me for a while. I tend to 'mentally rebel' aganist routine {I like to think I'm a free-spriit and not a rule-follower} but find I do better if I follow a plan!
 
I did Cathe's Pyramid Upper Body 'Up' premix. I finished the laundry, took in a pair of pants {the waist was big when I bought them, so no weightloss implied:p} and have been working on my brown cardigan which I decided I liked better as a vest so less work there.
 
oh boy...i did nothing today! not even a dog walk! woke up feeling not great, was going to take them out but had a little bit of a headache...took some Tylenol but that didn't help and Rich was off work today and wanted to take them to the dog park so i let him, and i took a nap! ended up taking a migraine med and another nap, had a bowl of cereal for dinner...it was one of those days. Hoping for a better day tomorrow! i was scheduled to have a rest day on Wed, I'll just move things up a day, it's no problem. :)
 
I made it thru Cardio Supersets!! I really had to drag my butt out of bed to get it done. I did abs afterwards. Now off to the mall to do some Xmas shopping!
 
nice going Stacy :) I woke up with a headache again but still did my GS ba/sh/bi. got all my workouts put in my calendar for the month so i have no excuse.

Finished off the cheesecake last night too, thank goodness. no more of that!
 
today from Cathe's Crossfire DVD, I did The Cardio Blast premix, which is the bulk of the workout. I've never done this part before because I keep doing the Triple Tabata premix. :p

The house smells like cookies because I baked a batch for Bible study tomorrow. Hubby and I are picking a movie each night and watching it together while texting comments about the movie. Almost like a real date! We re-watched Wall-E last night. Rizzoli and Isles for tonight. I finished my vest and hope to wear it tomorrow. I need to check it for dangling yan ends.

Andrea, Sorry about the headache, I've been getting them also, I think its just that time of year, with the weather change.

Stacy, Good job on CSS! I had a big dread factor on that one until I finally tried it.
 
oh what a great idea with the texting because Rich is always commenting out loud about everything and it gets in the way of my enjoying it! ha ha!
 
Well remember he's in a different state, too! I think we are actually commenting more on the shows than when we are next to each other on the couch!

i have got to work off this cheesecake. my thighs feel enormous. gross, never again.

I didnt have anything too bad today except a cookie but I had 3 bowls of soup!! What a piggy I was!

Peng, I love Rizzoli and Isles!! I havent read all the books though.

Andrea, I had cheesecake at Thanksgiving. I'm feelin' ya about the thighs!
 
OK Stacy, I'm sure you had a PIECE of cheesecake. I had A CHEESECAKE. Not kidding. My skin is horrible, my mood has been horrible, my thighs are like puffy pinkish white squishy water balloons...egads. Not cool

Today I did Step Heat, kind of a fun workout, not really intense but the step work seemed complicated to me. I don't usually have much trouble picking things up but I did with this one. Oh well, burned over 450 calories so that's good! Breakfast was great, 1 whole egg+1egg white with a huge panful of spinach, onions, tomatoes, red peppers, salsa and just a touch of shredded cheese, and then a really delish grapefruit. Lunch was a big salad, a ww pita and 2 T of hummus, some almonds and...sigh...two sea salt dark chocolate caramels...I'm so far from an angel.

Making (somewhat healthy) meatloaf tonight with broccoli and baked potatoes. I make it with extra lean ground sirloin and oatmeal. I add a can of tomato sauce and it's really pretty moist and pretty good! Also, some uncured bacon goes on top :) I will have a big salad with mine, lots of broccoli, a tiny potato, and a small piece of meatloaf. :) Also have a dog walk planned for this afternoon as well as vacuuming the stairs to the basement which is always a calorie burner for whatever reason!
 
I used the bread hook feature on a small hand mixer to incorperate the flour into the starter today and the texture of my bread dough was so much better! I wish I had tried that a year ago! I have a stand mixer but the recipe says not to use a metal bowl when you let the dough rise, but I think I'll try the stand mixer next week and just transfer the dough to the regular ceramic bowl I usually use. One more thing to wash but better bread is worth it.

Its chilly here. My rotation says a circuit for today. I weighed today expecting some progress since I've been watching what I eat & exercising again. No change in 2 weeks. Very fruserated!

Stacy, I used to be a big reader but these days I'd rather watch a TV show. I did see that R&I was based on books but I don't think I"ve tried one of Tess G's.

Andrea, a head's up in case you didn't know, Cathe doesn't breakdown the step workouts in 4DS, so you get a lot thrown at you at once! The weight workouts are great and can be paired up for a longer workout.
 
I did KCM's NYC {acromyns, much?} I started with the full workout, but didn't want to repeat sets so I skipped the repeats, there's a premix for that which I'll do next time! I thought the pace of this one was very fast for a weight workout.
 
Breakfast and lunch were good, dinner....so-so and then had a big cookie. Had planned on working out but just didnt feel motivated, then not long after dinner my throat started hurting, I think my lack of motivation was my body telling me I'm coming down with a virus. Hoping it doesnt last too long :(
 
Peng- thanks for the heads up. I probably won't get to the 4DS workouts for a bit, working my way through the easier ones that I have first. But I'll definitely watch them first. I am going to try to scan over all of the ones that are new to me before I do them in fact. Lots of new stuff coming my waaaay!

Stacy- oooooh I hope you aren't getting sick! I never, ever want to be sick again! Take care of yourself!

Meatloaf was awesome, I ended up making some green bean casserole since we didn't have that last week, and I had a big glass of red wine and a piece of dark chocolate...I should be getting another headache soon...hope not! I really did feel a lot better today, didn't even need a nap and the walk with the doggies was so relaxing and fun!

Slow and Heavy Legs is on tap for tomorrow. My legs need it!
