Presale and paying customs in Canada

Hi,

I have a question for Canadians who did the presale for the LIS series (since Xtrain should the same number of DVDs): when you got your DVDs, did you have to pay taxes or customs?

I got hit HARD with a duty fee with STS. With LIS, I ordered downloads so the STS charge caught me off guard . For that reason, I am sticking with downloads for several disc purchases .

I'm in Canada BTW.

it is hit or miss. I do a lot of online shopping from US to Canada and I am always surprised because it changes. I paid duties with LIS but not with STS and STS was twice the value. it was a good thing though, wouldn't want that reversed!

It's hit or miss. I don't think we pay duty because it's made in North America. Just HST.
Curious if the receipt shows both the cost of the dvds and downloads because then we will pay on both instead of just the dvds.

I had to pay PST & GST plus the handling charge on STS & LIS but didn't have to pay on Crossfire & To The Max. It appears to be hit/miss but all I pay are the taxes not duty! I'm from Manitoba!
