Prego Support July 27-August 3

Hey everyone! Been trying to read through your posts and catch up! Thank you for all the nice birthday wishes!

Melanie- Glad to hear you got so much done but boo about the soreness!

Wendy- I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers! Good luck with everything! We are cheering you on!

Allison- Way to go on the glucose test! Mine's in a couple weeks. That's funny about all the random projects you want to get done. That is what DH is doing now and he just doesn't stop!

Priscilla- I am worried about my weight gain at next appointment! Yours isn't too bad at all. I know I shouldn't worry but I still have such a long way to go. I switched by eating again and am hoping to slow down some of this weight.

Well I had been feeling really good up until last night and today. I woke up last night with horrible back pain and finally fell back asleep to wake up to my left butt/hip area feeling numb and tingling and just plain annoying. I got up and walked around and decided to take a Tylenol which helped me fall back asleep. But my back is really sore and achy today and I am starting to feel huge and uncomfortable. Plus the gas pains are getting really bad too. I am hoping to get on the treadmill tonight and walk some so I can stretch. Thanks for letting me vent. I'm sure I will have good days and bad days.

BBL to check in with everyone else!

Hey Jen - I have been feeling really gassy lately too. Something that helped was I did Kick Max (no intensity drills for me). But during the standing leg drills much pressure was released, gross, but quite a relief. Don't know if that will help. Good luck finding something that works.

Hi ladies!

Jen, sorry you're uncomfortable. Misery loves company,....I"m right there with you on night pains. I find myself "moaning" out loud. LOL

Yesterday ended quite miserably. Justin found one of my potent air freshner thingies and sprayed it throughout the house. Our house is pungent with this lemony-lavender scent,....which within 60 minutes of being home sent me to the bathroom violently throwing up. :( Urgh. Haven't thrown up since my bday,.....was really thinking I was all done with that!:mad::mad:

.....looking for my heatpad today.... lower back (radiating toward my front pelvis) feels like it's tearing apart this AM. I don't think I'm going to be the busy beaver I was on Tuesday.:confused::(

Hi Everyone! Whew, you are a busy bunch. So, this is kind of lame, but I went back on the threads for other preggo groups in the past and just want to say that we have one very poitive and pleasant group. I know that sounds bizzare, but it made me feel great to see how supportive we are of each other.
I am a cow, No joke, gaining weight is my specialty these days. I look at toast and gain weight. This baby is growing fast and kicks all night long. I am super tired, too. Melanie- are you too? It seems like I can be superwoman one day and then it takes two or three to recover.
We are waiting to find out about our move. We have two more weeks of waiting. Feels like an eternity, but it will be a relief once we know. If this one does not pan out, my husband will likely step down from his role and go back into a different aspect of the business. I feel bad for him, he is exhausted.
I am off to go for a run, whew that is getting tough. I can barely go 5 miles any more. We did two long runs this weekend and I was walking a lot.
Have a great day, ladies!
:)

Christine~ sounds like you're right on track! My babies haven't moved much (if even at all). I'm a bit worried about it. I've read that twins move about the same time as singletons (although you'd think it'd be sooner). I normally feel things around the 16th week.......and being in the 20th week, it worries me a bit. *sigh*......I see the fetal/maternal specialist on Monday....hopefully I'll feel much better after that. :D

It seems like muscle pain is the order of the week. For the last 2 days I have been waking up around 3:00am and I just can't fall sleep again. It's so annoying considering the fact that I have to work.
Anyways, I think I have a neck spasm, I noticed first thing in the morning and I'm afraid it may get worse. I called the nurse again (BTW, they haven't called me back to answer my other question and I'm getting frustrated at them!). I need to know if it's safe to take a muscle relaxant if my neck gets stiffer. I looked up Flexeril and is Cat B but I wanna know for sure

We'll leave today to Sea World and be back before Monday, hopefully my neck doesn't bother me much
You all have a great weekend and I'll check back after my trip.

Melanie- I'm right there with ya with the back pain and pelvis pain! Ouch! I applied ice and it felt much better. Try not to worry too much about the movement. Maybe they are both kicking your back and that is where the pain is from???

Priscilla- Does heat or ice help your neck at all? Sorry to hear about the neck spasm.

C- That is great to hear that we are so positive. I feel like such a downer when I vent on here but its good to hear that we aren't so negative as I feel sometimes. 5 mile runs and pregnant??? Awesome job!

dragonfly- Thanks for the tip!

Hi everyone! And happy belated b-day, Jen. Christine, that was funny about looking at toast and gaining weight! I felt the same way!

I felt really bad about my weight gain through the second trimester. Now in the third trimester (31 weeks), things--including my appetite--seem to be leveling off. I'm thinking at this rate that I will have gained about 40 lbs during this whole pregnancy. I feel Ok about that as I was in the shape of my life before becoming pregnant and went a little crazy eating everything under the sun the first few months.

As a first-time mom, I attended my first child-birth class last night. OK, so it was a bit elementary and my dh was in a silly mood and got into a little bit of a laughing fit when they showed us a high school-type sex education video on where babies come from. I had to turn my chair away from him so I wouldn't start laughing. But I was happy about the class and looking forward to others (it lasts for eight weeks, including a class on infant CPR and breastfeeding). I enjoyed hearing other pregnant ladies' questions and listening to the instructor reiterate a lot of what I read in my What to Expect When Expecting book. I felt pretty prepared . . . however, next week is the labor video. Let's hope I don't get overwhelmed watching that!

Have a great day everyone!
Dawn

Precilla- Yes, flexarell is ok, have your doc make sure they have no problem with it. I have used it in the past. It will make you real thirsty.

Jen- Yes, such a positive group. the thread I was reading was really mean, actually. There was a cyber catfight. it just did not seem supportive. This is a great forum and the first place I come when I need a lift!
Dawn- My hubby never was able to make it to the classes so we got a video, if you want the title, I will get it to you! It allowed my hubby to drink beers while he learned that I would destroy my female anatomy.
Mel- You are fine I am sure. Baby only moves after sugar. He likes root beer best! It is mostly at night when I lie down. It really only started a week or two ago. So do not fear!!!! I am thinking moving thoughts for you!
Susan- You are an inspiration. I am so impressed with your workouts and good eating. I am not exactly eating what I should. I am craving high calories. Oh well.
Wendy- I hope you are well. You amaze me with your strength and commitment to your family. What a joy that you can bring a new life into the world, despite the sadness with your father...

Thanks Christine for answering my question.

I just got a call from the nurse and I'm about to cry!!!. She said that they just scheduled an appointment for me to see a perinatologist because of my baby's weight and because my placenta is marginal previa. I don't know what to think but i'm freaking out already
Please keep me in your prayers. I'll see the perinatologist on MOnday and keep you posted.

Thanks

Priscilla- I know it sounds scary but try not to freak yourself out! I'm sorry but I don't know much about perinatologists but maybe its just for precautions. I will say a prayer for you and little one! I don't know much about the placenta previa but another forum I am on, there was a lady that had it and was put on moderate bed rest and no pelvic activity and told that she would have a C-section and then around 28 or 30 weeks they told her that it corrected itself. I hope that helps a little..... HUGS!

C- I can't stand to read cyber catfights and I have read my fair share on Cathe. I can't believe how unsupportive and judgemental people can be with each other! I told my DH that you and your DH watched the labor video and that is what he wants to do so he can drink a couple beers! I'm fine with it as long as my dr is.

Dawn- I have a feeling that I may teeter close to 40lbs by the end also but when I read what you said about being in the best shape of your life and not being worried it really set off a lightbulb in my head. I too was in the best shape so I should quit worrying so much. Thank you for that!

Precilla~ I"m really pissed off at your doctors now. This is ridiculous that they are making you worry like this. With that said,....placenta previa is very common,.....and almost ALWAYS corrects itself. I had it with a couple of my kids, and it always lifted up within a month on it's own. I will also be at perinatologist on Monday,......and you're going to get some awesome u/s picstures!!!!!! :D I'm praying for you. :) Enjoy your Sea World, and you'll know more on Monday.....

I won my court case! Just got notification in the mail today. The $ will help my maternity leave/medical bills.

:)

Jen- I will go find the video so I can give you the name. If any of you have NETFLIX, you can usually get them on there, so you do not have to buy it. If you want to, I can send you mine, but need it back before I deliver. No problem at all.
And yes, you are a great group. Remember that. There was a group that had a woman who berated others for gaining weight, she was virtually anorexic, and psycho. I almost cried reading it. Off to eat banana chocolate chip coconut muffins. Any idea why the scale is going up, those are why!

Precilla- I know you must be really anxious, but please do not worry. YOu will be okay, no matter what the outcome! You may get to lie down more than you thought, but you are taking great care of that baby! It is very likely that you r doctor is referring you to a specialist becuase failure to do so would potrentially lead to litigation against him if things turn out less than ideal. My OB told me that is why I had to go see a perinatologist in the beginning, because it takes him off the hook should anything go wrong down the road. that explanation did make me feel better. And the baby weight is average, so do not fear. None of this is preventable, we all have hurdles. Hey, look at Maleanie, she did not poop for weeks! Not to make light of your serious situation, I sincerely believe you will be fine, just resting more than you hoped. If that happens, I will make a movie list for you and you can get Netflix, so you can be in movie heaven, they come in the mail and you never leave the house! Feel better, think positive, and have a cookie. Or whatever floats your boat. For me, it is gummy bears and red vines. And a sip oif my hubby's beer (i know, I know, but a sip is no biggie, I figure communion does me more damage!). Lots of California hugs headed your way.;)

Prescilla - so sorry to hear about previa. I will be praying that the doctor is just covering themselves and that it will clear up on quickly on its own.

Christine - Too funny about the beer. I have a friend who is German and said that when she was pregnant her doctor told her she was SUPPOSED to drink a glass of wine every week for the health of the baby. I think the U.S. no alcohol thing is because doctors are sure that we are all idiots who would think that because a glass of wine is okay we should all go out binge drinking. Kind of like why Benadryl is now a prescription, because a few parents could not read/follow basic directions on medicine. End rant, I guess I am a little frustrated when the high and mighty decide that the average person has the brains of a mushroom and must be protected from themselves.

You guys have been chatting up a storm!!!

Priscilla, I'm so sorry your doc's office has you so worried. I would be too. I don't know much about placenta previa, but I hope the ones with experience have made you feel better.

Christine, yum...Red Vines. I might have to get some of those tomorrow :)

Jen, sorry about your pains. I've actually had a few charley horses this time, like, wake-me-up-from-sleep cramps. And my right hip is still killing me. My OB said it's fine to sleep on the left or the right, as long as I'm not on my back. Made me feel better, as I've been sleeping on my right more regularly because it makes me hip feel better.

Dawn, great attitude about the weight gain! I've accepted it for what it is, no matter what the number. I know I'll get it off. I know we'll all get it off :D

Melanie, congrats on winning your court case! Extra money seems to be falling over your house these days LOL

Anyone heard of the book Exercise After Pregnancy? I was thinking about ordering it from amazon.com, for help with getting the abs back in shape. I don't think I have diastis recti, but I figure the ab musles have definitely been stretched.

That just made me laugh. So funny and true. I agree that everything in moeration is fine, we just happen to live in a scoiety of the most obese and unemployed population ever. So you are so right, you give an inch, they take a mile. For what it is worth, a glass of wine crosses my lips here and there and it is heaven. A few sips and I am so much better. Shame on me, I know, but it is a treat. And soft cheese. Mmmmm. And deli meat. Never did give that up either. I guess I am playing with fire, but there is a point where all we are allowed to have is a prenatal and a glass of water!
Off to do KPC, let's see if I make it through today.
Here's to healthy babies and happy mommies!

Not a preggo....yet :)

Hi ladies,
DH and I are trying to conceive w/ #2 and I hope to be joining all of you soon, but right now I just check up on you periodically to make myself feel better ;)

Melanie--I wanted to add that when I was pregnant w/ DD my placenta was placed along the front wall of my uterus and as a result there would be long periods of time when I didn't feel her move much in the second trimester (made for much FMS "fretful mother syndrome" as DH dubbed it :)) So, maybe with two in there, and two placentas you're just not feeling all the movement that is occurring?
Either way, good luck on Monday!

Keep up the great work ladies, you bring a smile to my TTC face everyday!

Mattea
